Finally being released from Olympus on Mars, Noah found himself in his office, the diner long abandoned by staff who probably thought he skipped out on them and just ended their shifts for the night. The fact he was locked in showed they could at least close.

He wasn't sure if he found that comforting or disheartening, that things apparently didn't fall apart when he wasn't there to supervise like a control freak.

Escaping his locked office, he powered up, and surprise surprise, felt another knight in the nearby vicinity.

Which meant they were probably part of the crazypants space opera on Mars too.

It was the Mars knight who had said he was part of the Negaverse once. The blond wasn't easily forgotten and the squire too a few steps from the darkened diner, waving one had over his head. "Hey!"

Kairatos was irritably checking over his bike, checking for damage or signs of attempted theft since he'd been interrupted in the middle of a patrol to listen to an inept and confusing piece of magical space paper, the presence of another knight put him on alert, and he turned at the sound of the hailing voice, taking a moment to try and read the tone (He'd been admittedly very strong in his opinions while there...) before lifting a hand in a wave back.

"Hey." he called back. "So how about that meeting?" He asked, thinking he remembered the other man. There were so many young female knights that anyone over twenty tended to stand out, especially if they appeared to be men. "I'm pretty sure I've been reading some Dilbert strips that had less shitty messages handed down from on high."

He'd already made it clear what he thought, no sense playing diplomatic about his opinions now... or maybe it was more that he still didn't do terribly well at being diplomatic about most things, thanks to an failure to have enough ******** to give to the cause.

"It definitely wasn't encouraging," Alfheim said with a grimace. He was a pretty mellow dude and had been content to hang back with the girls, so he really couldn't have foreseen that he would've been arguing with the code himself, especially in such an angry way.

He was a conditional pacifist, if such a thing could exist. He ideally wanted everyone rescued. It was a weird stance to end up arguing with a supposed leadership figure for.

Something else about the arguing had stuck with him too.

"So you said you used to be on that side, huh?" He asked, genuinely curious. Purification was a mystery to him, and while it was something he strove for, he didn't know anything about it or even have a name to put to it. Just the ol' 'give up on Chaos and come be a knight' ideal. "Hey, nice bike."

Whoops, distracted by shiny toy.

"I did, and I was not kidding." Kairatos flashed an grin, pleased to take on fame, or infamy, in any form apparently.

"I was Captain Realgar. Changed sides, got an promotion. Not a bad deal." He joked. "And for all the threats they bandy around, no one's come looking yet either. I'm almost a little disappointed. Well... am still I guess but it's not the first time I've decided to to uh... what the hell was that movie line? "I heard your order and decided to ignore it on the grounds that it was a stupid idea?" That."

He could deal with that. The Knights of DC could follow in the steps of Nick Fury. Didn't seem like the worst thing they could do.

"Isn't it kick a**? She hauls a** too."

Alfheim’s curiosity managed to break on his face in the form of a small smile and chuckle at the answer he got, and he turned his attention back down to the bike. The look in his eyes made it blatantly obvious he had more passion for discussion about that than the Code… thing…

But when he opened his mouth, he didn’t get the chance to actually articulate any words before there was a shrill, “What are you doing?!” Being shouted in the air.

Zia jogged up to their general proximity from the direction of the diner, and est her hands on her knees so she could catch her breath. Too much couch time, not enough gym time, apparently. Although in between gasps she managed, “Holy hell… where have you been? I sent… like thirty texts… no one’s been answering… me…”

Although which one she was talking to was left up in the air. Probably both of them.

Kairatos opened his mouth, then shut it again, clearly considering, even after having made his opinions very clear to literally anyone else within ear shot including the set of space rules that had demonstrated itself capable of summoning them at a whim...weather or not he should sass of to Zia.

Then apparently the deep rooted instinct to sass won out and he raised his hands and counted off on his fingers. "One. No cell phone pocket in Spartacus Gear. Two...yeah we got yoinked to Mars. Apparently we were all incorrect in thinking there was no force that could do a mass summon on knights. Apparently it's just a really dim version of HAL 2001." He spread his hands and shrugged vaguely.

"Although on the plus side it didn't decide to try and kill us all when most of us flipped it the bird. Of course maybe it's too dumb to have figured out some of us were being kinda rude."

Alfheim was going to react, but he halted himself when Kairatos started talking to Zia with some familiarity, and then he just sort of looked between the two of them. A pause in the conversation allowed him time to jerk his thumb towards the Mars knight and start with "Friend of yo--"

"Well make room, Maximus Mouth-us!" Zia retorted, standing up straight and using her first act with a fully inflated set of lungs to smack Alfheim upside the back of the head, because poor Alfheim was the one within reach.

She was paid back in an instant with a hard shove to the side, because clearly they were both still twelve.

"What the hell are you two doing commiserating anyway?" She asked, pointing fingers between the two of them and putting on her most 'suspicious' face, which ended up directed mostly at Alfheim along with the next question, "How do you know him? I don't like this."

"Did you totally gloss over the part that the knight faction was mass kidnapped by a scroll of paper that calls itself the Code?" Was the only answer she got out of him as he reached over and messed up her hair, only to get his arm viciously and rapidly slapped at as he did. "It's kind of important in case we get eaten next time."

Zia had finally captured the Earth squire's hand and was bright red, cheeks inflated and jaw clenched in indignation, and only then did any of it really filter through 'ack my roommate and my brother are talking' and 'wtf my hair'.

"I... what?"

"Yeah, not kidding." Kairatos pointed in agreement to Alfheim. "Apparently that's a thing. Something they forgot to mention in the brochure. Everyone got their butts hauled up there for it to pretty much tell us to do... uh... mostly what we're already doing." He waved his finger in a dismissive circle.

"Hell of a lot of annoying trouble to go through for a whole lot of bullshit. I'm guessing you two know each other..."

Zia tended to bludgeon people who she felt close to, that he'd noticed. At least they were hitting each other and not him. That was a good thing.

"Seriously, "The Code" My a**."

"The Code? Like it's a literal... physical thing that talks? Like..." Zia looked genuinely confused as she raised her hands and looked at the space between them, like she could kinesthetically work out the visual that way before she dropped them to her sides in defeat. "What?"

"It's like a magical... scroll thing?" Alfheim offered, looking to Kairatos as if for confirmation.

"And it's a sentient... living thing?" Zia was clearly having trouble processing. But Kairatos' assertion they knew each other reminded her of her initial issue with this sight and she shifted to hang on the Mars knight's arm and leaned towards tugging him away. "Come on, we should go home. We'll get pizza."

The fact she was avoiding introductions wasn't even subtle.

Alfheim wasn't really up for games, though. "She's my sister. Who are you?" Although the full sentence if he didn't check himself probably would've been: Who are you guy who is clearly significant outside of powered bullshit and that concerns me because of my potentially unwitting involvement in shenanigans.

"Uh. PIzza. Fine... I" Kairatos was sort of getting accustomed to the the whole idea that Zia just took charge and steered people where she wanted and that was generally end of story, but Aelfheim's assertion made him put his heels down and his eyebrows up.

"Friend of mine. She's been giving me a hand. I'm going by Xanthus, if that helps." He had no idea if she would have mentioned his civilian identity, but if she and Alfheim were siblings...

OK to be honest he wasn't sure it did personally affect him, but it seemed to affect Alfheim, and it would arguably be better not to have someone hate him for hanging out with their sister.

Alfheim finally became acutely aware the tension in the air had shifted and he stood there kind of dumbfounded about it.

Kairatos seemed pretty decent, but anyone who agreed with him like they had been a few seconds ago and owned a really cool bike was probably welcomed to his good side way too easily. And then Zia had to show up and ruin it with her weird Zia thing.

Zia had similar sentiments. Like there was an unspoken rule between them that they were not allowed to share friends, that he was going to go bro it up with Xanthus and then Xanthus was going to think she was a super boring ladybro and he would rather be drinking beer with someone else. She maintained her double armed grip on his and stared at Alfheim with flared nostrils and angry eyes like a challenge was ensuing. Totally mature.

Alfheim was a little better at playing mature, though, and loops his fingers in his belt and shrugged. "She never mentioned you. But hey, who needs pizza?" He jerked his thumb to the diner down the street, where the only vehicle remaining in the parking lot was his overly detailed and cleaned Honda. "That's my place, no need to run home and wait for delivery."

"We like delivery!" Zia countered, only to realize half a second later how stupid that sounded. She resorted to standing there with her mouth pressed shut and her cheeks puffed out until she sloooowly released the air pressure out of them.

And then looked to Xanthus for answers.

Normally his self preservation instinct was reserved for stuff like 'There is a Youma the size of a large building', or 'that lady can launch fireballs the size of a Buick and is kind of pissed at you'... but right at this particular moment, it was rightfully going off the charts.

"...Ok why are we arguing about Pizza when we could just go sit down someplace where they will bring pizza and beer to the table and we can explain to your um... sister..." Wow ok so they really were related then? Ok. Um. Yeah. Ok there had to be a way to salvage this. "...She's not going to believe me if I tell her about this bullshit on my own. She's going to assume I made the whole thing up to troll her."

Pizza. Beer. Surreal stories. PEACE. Right??

Alfheim at least, being ostensibly older by several years, might not have acted his age but he could at least act older. Behavior that manifested itself in a calm and lazy stance where Zia was possessively clinging to Kairatos’ arm with a petulant expression that very clearly said ‘back off’. He powered down to his threadbare concert tee from some Soundgarden affair from the 90s and old jeans and rolled his shoulders as he brought his hands to rest hooked in his pockets.

“I could go for pizza.”

Zia’s eyes narrowed, but she found distraction in a sudden realization that there had actually be a reason she’d come to find them tonight besides ‘my brother will steal all my friends and tell them how uncool I am’.

“...Is it that weird?” She looked between the two of them and settled on Kairatos, “If you guys are playing a prank on me, it’s not funny.”

"It was, in fact, totally that weird." Kairatos promised. He was the last one of them still powered up, and slightly cautious of powering down without Zia's approval, but it seemed like it might be the best gamble to see how she felt.

He took a breath and relaxed his own powers, rubbing the back of his neck.

"So. Pizza? Beer? Crazy stories?"
