The bold words sit coldly on a metal plated sign above a simple wooden platform. Their gray color is humorously fitting as the booth exudes nothing but boredom and a tired sigh. Even the person sitting at the booth, a young, spritely girl looks bored out of her mind.
This was the esteemed Fitzgerald Spice Co. information booth. It promised job opportunity and business expenditures, but honestly it was all for show. It was merely a gesture of cooperation to the town; there was no intention to hire anyone or create new business opportunities. It was one great trick; not that anyone would know from the apparent expense they'd spent on making the booth look incredibly refined.
The only anachronism is an enormous pile of food that sits to the left of the girl. Meats, breads, cheeses- she's slowly chewing away on the pile of food, ignorant to the idea that those less fortunate might be jealous. Her feet are up on the table, begging you to point out her flaws and posture.
As you approach, her face brightens. "Hey! Hey! Play a game with me! Do it do it!!" She gestures to a trashcan nearby, crumpling up a few of the pamphlets into balls of paper.
You're given a choice. You could walk on by, pretending the girl had said nothing; a figment of your imagination.
OR you could humor her. Can you spare the time?

Essentially this is a basketball game! Players are encouraged to RP with the booth owner, but it is not neccessary to play!
gaia_star You're given 3 paper balls. Roll 2d6 three times.
- If the first number is higher than the second number, you miss the trash can.
- If the first number is lower than the second number, you make the shot into the trash can.
- If the first and second number are the same, then the ball balances precariously on the side of the garbage can before crashing in. That was close!
To win, you must get two out of three baskets. You can only try once per day.

Players can also earn a ticket by engaging my character, Danny, in RP. This will mostly be at my discretion, but will be based on RP activity. IE, one post where your character says hi and then walks away won't get you anything, but a person who has a long conversation with Danny might! This can only result in one extra ticket, and will be distributed at the end of the event in a FAIR way.
Tickets will be rolled at the end to produce one tailor ticket winner!

Damn, he was hungry. But then again, he always was these days. This festival was rather promising to give a sort of temporary cure for that very problem. Festivals typically had food, one way or another. Most of it wasn't exactly free, but perhaps he could get away with something anyway. It was worth a risk, in any case.
Shun made his way through the crowds, ignoring most of the people around. Having this many people in one place was a bit annoying, but he'd bear with it for now. As he perused the booths, he couldn't help but notice the giant mountain of food piled up onto the counter of one in particular. He paused, staring at this for a moment or so. Just seeing that much food caused a pang in his stomach. Well she surely shouldn't miss some of that. He didn't even know what this booth was for, but quite frankly, he didn't care.
Casually, he walked up. Some other citizen walked on up as well to take a look at some of the actual information presented. Hoping that would be enough of a distraction for the rather bored looking girl, he idly looked things over, then tried to snatch some food as discretely as he could.

Danny was in the middle of taking a bite out of one of her rolls when she noticed someone got closer than a foot or two to the both.
Lurching forward, she slammed her hands on the table, causing the plates to rattle with a soft "clink!" The papers stirred and the people around the area cast glances at the twosome, alarmed by the sudden noise.
"You!" A rather dramatic accusation; it almost seemed like she was going to call the guy out on stealing food. "Play a game with me!" Her intent wasn't so malicious. Boredom was a much larger concern than a few swiped pieces of meat. "Please please please??"

The sudden movement had Shun turn sharply towards the girl instinctively, bringing his hands up defensively as he was expecting an attack of sorts. But no. She wasn't planning on attacking him or chasing him off it seemed. Baffled by her reaction, he couldn't help but stare at her in a sort of mild bewilderment initially.
"What? No," he said, feeling a little taken back. Once that feeling subsided, he furrowed his brow and added lowly, "I don't play games."

The girl had practically begun crawling over the table with excitement at the idea of playing with someone and breaking her boredom spell. "Aw c'mon please? PLEEEASE?"
She looked around her booth and held up some papers. "I'll give you these! Or um ..." She held up a plate of the food she'd brought for herself. "Or this!! You can have this whole plate of food if you can beat me okay!!"
A few of her neighbors began murmuring to each other about the strangeness of Danny's activity, but if she minded it wasn't apparent. Everything was in one ear and out the other with Danny. "All you have to do is shoot these into that." A tiny trashcan was pointed at, and big puppy dog eyes were deployed.

Shun's eyes widened at her offer. That was... incredibly tempting to say in the very least. However, he soon narrowed his gaze at her in suspicion and mistrust.
"Why the hell would you offer all that for a stupid game?" he asked warily. He glanced between the bin and the little balls of paper, then back to the girl. That was a lot of food to be offering for something like tossing a ball into a basket. It just didn't add up to him.
Danny rounded her own booth, coming to stand on the outside of the table, two balls of paper in her hands. "What? That's like nothing. It's just food."
She threw an arm around Shun and in the same motion tossed a paper ball into the bin on the other side of the street. It went in with a victorious "thunk!" and Danny smiled at the street rat. "But I mean, I guess if you can't do it it's cool. It's okay to be afraid of losing so badly."
Shun went a little rigid at that. The girl practically just issued him a challenge right then and there. Gritting his teeth, he let out a light scoff and picked up one of the paper balls. He sort of whipped it at the trash can, causing it to ricochet off the rim and towards the orange haired girl.
Danny scoffed at the guy's utter failure. Of course he wasn't as good at her! She was the best!
(Nevermind that she'd been throwing baskets for quite some time now).
When the paper came flying towards her, she just sidestepped it. Coincidentally it got Danny's arm off of Shun, so perhaps the shot wasn't in vain. "Pshhh. You're a terrible shot!"
The orange haired girl threw her own paper ball, which just barely tipped into the basket. Danny gave a fist pump into the air and said, "Ha! That's two for me and zippo for you. Your move!"
Feeling annoyance spur within him, he took another shot. This time around, he spent a little more time actually aiming. Sure enough, Shun managed to make it into the basket. With that done, he shot the girl a sharp glare. That should show her.
Following Shun up, Danny took one last shot at the basket. No dice; the paper sadly flopped to the side of the trashcan, all hopes of a perfect game dashed as the paper slammed into the ground.
"Aw, dang. Just means everything rides on this shot!!" She looked at Shun intently. His final shot would determine the whole game. There was a plate of food riding on this!!
"Don't make it seem more dramatic than it really is," Shun scoffed. Gritting his teeth, he threw the ball, and missed.
"Che."
So much for the mountain of food. It was too much for him to try and drag off all at once. Not without causing a scene. Besides, that much food would probably cause him more trouble than good. He had some of it anyway.
"Whatever," he grumbled before turning to leave. He'd have to make do with the chunk of meat he had managed to snatch before she got on his case.

Danny frowned as the boy turned to leave, mostly because her source of entertainment was leaving.
She ran a few steps ahead of him and held out her hands. "Hey, hey. No need to be a sore loser. We can't all be the best okay?" If Danny could have flipped her hair, she could. "Look I'm not gonna eat all the food by myself. I mean I could- I TOTALLY COULD- but you can have some too."
Plus that way Shun would have to stick around longer.
Everybody wins. Mostly.

Shun paused as the girl ran out in front of him and began to speak again.
"Why? I lost," he stated. He probably shouldn't question it, but the fact that she was being so.. generous was something that was causing some concern. He didn't know what she was up to.

Danny tilted her head. "'Cause its ... just food." Danny couldn't begin to fathom why giving away food was generous, or why it was so difficult for Shun to accept. Where Danny came from, food was plentiful. "And 'cause we're friends now!" She followed with a signature goofy smile, already having made a friend out of the mysterious man.
She said, "Oh, do you maybe not want this food? We can go get other food. I think there's a curry place up the street. We should go together!" Danny linked her arm around his and said, "Oh hey, since we're friends, I'm Danny! What's your name?"
The poor man would have no choice but to face Danny's onslaught of optimistic and friendliness, because she definitely wasn't letting go of his arm.
