After he'd fetched the Wadana for the cooks, something that they felt they could make something out of, he felt the desire to try to do a bit more for them. While he was no master hunter he didn't see why he couldn't go about helping out more. Sure, he did patrols, but patrols were feeding the many hungry mouths that were located in that packed city. If he went out, did a bit of hunting between his patrols he might be able to help even if a little bit. It would also mean him putting more strain on himself but at the moment he couldn't say that was something that really worried him all that much. He couldn't be selfish and think only of himself at a time like this.
There were people who needed him to push himself, those like Gerraden who had been wounded during the battle, or those who were just little. How many little younglings seemed to be in town after all, some who seemed as though they didn't have any parents. It was something that he was saddened by and if he could help but bringing back food to fill their bellies then that was what he needed to do.
This time his hunt had him moving closer to Tale, feeling as though it would be alright to do. This way he would be able to double up his duties. He could look for food while trying to get a peek at what the Oban army might be up to if they were this close to where they had retreated. He couldn't say that he felt it would be long before their next attack. Why would they just let them run after all when they were so adamant about seeing everyone in chains. It was a pathetic threat, really, mostly because he felt that the Oban King actually believed it would caused them to stand down. As if they would just let him come tromping through to take their land and their freedom. Still, he was sure that the one who had given that ultimatum was just following orders.
As he got closer to the border he didn't spot anything out of the ordinary as far as the Obans were concerned but he did spot two large, brightly colored birds that were picking at the the vegetation. He knew them, they were called Scorra, and he'd heard that they were actually quite tasty. Giving a bit of a smile he started to creep slowly forward toward them, waiting until the very last moment before he sent his spear flying at them. It wasn't a technique he used often, it was a waste since it caused him to lose his weapon after all, but for hunting at least it should be alright. Much to his surprise and delight he was actually able to hit one of the two birds, taking it down swiftly! The other Scorra ran off full speed and was out of sight before he was able to retrieve his spear. It made him that much more grateful that he was able to take one of them down given how fast they were.
Rishima gave thanks to Aisha for the luck he had with his throw before he set to work bringing the bird back to the cooks as well. Two hunts, two kills, it was all thanks to the blessing of Aisha he was sure. He wasn't a hunter after all but she had guided his hand, helping him to feed those in the camp even if just a little. Once the bird had been delivered he was back to patrolling. He couldn't slow down, not until he knew the area around them was secure.
