I thought Royal Sapphire and Sacred Ruby would have been better name but eh the games are still gonna be awesome especially if they put in secret bases

Yeah, I support a name change. Alpha/Omega is like "Beginning and End", that should be reserved for Diamond/Pearl or Black/White if used for remakes. If we have D/P B/W remakes as well. My point is that it just doesn't really fit theme here in my opinion.
Not a bad idea to use the gems to represent wealth. Heart and Soul seemed fitting for G/S, some kind of similar dual attributes would be nice.
That's interesting idea Novilus has. Although RS / SR would sure be confusing as far as abbreviations go, but a neat idea. xD
Let's make a petition for name changes and send it to Nintendo/GameFreak!

Both but I'm playing through Alpha first. ('Cause Alpha comes before Omega.) Jk. It's since Sapphire was my first Pokemon game ever. And I had a dream last night that I got the game early. ^^
