In many ways, Olivia is your typical country girl. Growing up she was incredibly conservative. (As in, Red State, go Bush, conservative.) In college, her world broadened and she found herself to be more of a free spirit. It was this growth as a person that led her to be rather open minded about her judgments of others. Actions make the person, not circumstances. When teaching, Olivia is more progressive than a lot of her colleagues, but she is not afraid to discipline. This carries over into her evenings working at the bar. A well liked bar tender, she’s been known to grab a baseball bat to ward off the rowdier customers, and she keeps a shotgun by her front door, though that’s more to scare off critters than anything else. She can be a little louder than strictly appropriate at times, and some of her older colleagues find her to be a bit obnoxious. Some may even say that she tends to try and hog the spot light. Olivia is aware of this, but she can’t always help herself.

When Olivia was growing up, all she ever wanted to be was the crazy music teacher, who wore funny hates and spoke in fake accents. That’s a lie, actually. She also wanted to be a unicorn, a Spice Girl, and a Mrs. Back Street Boy, but music teacher was the one she knew she could do. It seemed that everyone in her family was either a teacher, or a nurse, and it was natural for her to follow in the family footsteps. Her child hood was unremarkable. She had a mother and a father who loved her very much, and were in fact still living, and still together. Olivia and her siblings weren’t close, but that was more due to a large gap in age then anything else. In highschool, Olivia participated in Marching Band, FFA, Choir, and even spent a year as a cheerleader. Conservative, well rounded, and well adjusted, through out her education, she was oblivious to the existence of any “otherness” in the world.
When Olivia graduated college, she realized that the demand for Music teachers was not a high one, and she ended up moving thousands of miles from her family and friends to a little town called Mystic Falls, the perfect place for a brand new teacher. Her father convinced her that she should get a double certification, so she could become more employable, so now Olivia is working at the local watering hole, slinging beers at local drunks and slobs to help pay for her online classes so she can get her masters in education with a concentration in History.
When not working at the bar or school, Olivia is doing research for her thesis on early American Folklore, local Pagan history, and the Mythos and mystery surrounding not only Mystic Falls, but urban legends originating from all over the country. She jokes that now, not only is she a music nerd and band geek, she’s also a book worm and female Indiana Jones.
I think I managed to even screw up the coding that was done FOR me, lol!
