And it wasn't, but he kept walking further into it. Each step got him deeper and deeper into the muck. "Why do I never listen to anything the others say?" He had been told to be careful with the rain and the swamp, things would change over night. Did Lightning listen? Nope, he just had to go and find out for himself.

Nothing was close for him to grab and pull himself out with, not that it would work. The mud was so thick and far up on his body that he got scared. "HELP! Oh MotherFather HELP me, please! I don't want go out like this." At least even panicked, he decided to stay in place instead of moving around even more.

She'd only been intending to gather the fruits of a strong downpour: flushed out prey, rain-blossoming flowers and possibly moving obstacles that were loosened by the weather. Ascent instead found her ears perking at a distant cry for help, muffled against the slosh of water 'round the area.

Trotting around carefully, she spotted the kin -- and then his predicament, panic lighting her eyes. She'd never dealt with such a circumstance outside of quicksand, and it was under that presumption that she operated. Hastily snagging a lenghty, green branch that had fallen in the rain, she tossed the bough portion out to the Kiokote. "Hang on!" she called through her teeth, sticking her hooves in the muck and throwing her head back with the effort to free the other.

Hurl? ...Help! Someone was calling for help! Dove galloped towards the cries and... "Oh! You poor darling! Don't you worry sweetie, we'll get you out soon enough. You just take some deep breaths. Come on, in and out now."

She eyed the situation and thankfully decided against pulling on the green Kio's tail to help out. Instead, she bit into the branch, bringing her eye to eye with the other doe. "Hello darling," and then she proceded to pull.

Bloodless had been dancing in the rain moments ago, delicate in her steps and without a care. She loved the drops of rain on her fur, cold, frigid and just freeing!

But despite being in her own little world, she clearly heard a commotion nearby it was definitely an unmistakable yelling of other kin to each other -- she couldn't clearly understand but it made her come closer to the sound anyway to find the source of it all.

"!!!" Immediately the pale doe settled beside the grey kiokote, mimicking the two's actions and pulling with all her might! She was not one for words anyhow and it wouldn't help the stuck brown male. And she pulled with all her might! Making some progress immediately with that initial pull.

((sob i ruined the kio partayy. But hey all does!!))

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Kiss of Death got bored of looking for skeletons around the swamp and had started to break branches off of trees and uprooted patches of grass. Her companion was not with her today to play with so she grew extremely bored.

She ran at full speed jumping over bushes and splashing through the murky water puddles. There were murmurs nearby and the doe eventually came to a halt to listen to the noises. Not far from her view, was a kio stuck in the mud. The others, she was not sure if they were praying for his death or helping him out.

Stealthy she trotted over to the event without much effort. "My my, what do we have here," she stated cunningly. A sly smile spread across her face. She would love to add a kio skeleton to her collection. She looked at the situation and saw that they were not letting the kin die but trying to get him out. A bit disappointed, she decided to look for dead kios some other time. Without saying anything further, Death crept closer, and, just like the other two grey does, unable to see the third, grabbed onto the remaining free part of the branch with her teeth and pulled.

(( I love kios but i am working on ascending this pretty doe ^^;; ))

Lightning, surprised at the quickness of help, bit on the end that was angled towards him. "Oh, thank you. Thank you so much for showing up!" His words were a bit garbled, but what can you expect when you are trying to get out of the mud. It felt like it was so far up his body and he was close to a panic attack after the kio doe pulled and he barely moved.

Maybe it was just because she had gotten into the muck that he wasn't pulled out much. A quick sigh, and bite at the branch again, was given as a second doe appeared. This one much more calming to him, the brown male gave a small smile. With both pulling it felt the muck start to give on his hooves, but alas not enough. Dropping his nose to his chest, "It's alright ladies. I feel as though this might be my finally resting..."

Another came to help him! Oh and this one a female too. How embarrassing! At the sight of a bright hair moving towards them, he groaned. To be rescued by females. He would have to tell any of his old herd either the most embarrassing story ever, or make one up. "The mud! The mud! It keeps pulling me down further. I fear it is going to take me!" Drama king is his nickname for a reason.

Hm, well that didn't do much. At least he didn't sink in further.

Kiss of Death gave another pull with the rest of the does there but wondered why they have not succeeded in pulling the buck out in one go. Was it because he weighed too much? Or were they just not strong enough to get him out? "Perhaps, you should go on a diet after this," she told him through gritted teeth. "So the next time you're stuck, we have an easier time pulling you out!"

If he would spazz a bit less or not at all, she would not have gotten tired of pulling on weight heavier than her own. "Try to push yourself to the surface, maybe that could help.." she called out to the kio, hoping he could heard what she just said over the glooping mud noises and heavy breathing from everyone that was present.

Bloodless continued to pull the Kio quite effectively! She was quite small and even dainty but she definitely had a fair amount of surprising strength. The doe was definitely curious about these other does and how exactly the buck fell into the mud like this though. She made a mental note to ask these questions to them after they had freed the Kiokote from his terrible predicament.

The other kimeti's words made her laugh though, blinking at her and chuckling, the branch slipping a little from her mouth.

"Just don't panic." She finally spoke at the stuck Kiokote, urging him not to give up!

How dare that...Well maybe he could go on a small diet, but that didn't mean she had to call him fat in front of the others! Lightning had a remark to that doe, but he would be nice and not say anything towards her yet about it. For all he knew she could be stressed about something else.

Pulling up a leg, he tried to find a bit of solid ground to push out more, but really, when a rock pushes down as much as pushing you up, it does neither any good. "I am trying to get push! Nothing is solid under here." Tears stared to well up into his eyes as he thought of the life he had, so much he had done, with so much still to live for!

This won't do. The branch might snap any minute and she got tired of not being able to pull harder. Having to share the branch gave her no free space to jerk harder.

Kiss of Death let go of the branch and went to find a sturdy fallen log. When she returned with one, she kicked it all the way over where the buck was.

(( Oops wrong dice. Let me try again ^^; ))

Well Kiss of Death may have kicked it a little too hard as she watched the log roll and smacked it against the kio and bounced a bit back before remaining still in the mud.

She laughed at what just happened but was determined to get the buck out. "Try to climb onto the log as they pull with the branch!" she did not go back in line to help pull. The taste of the branch was rather unpleasant.

Oh no, was the kiokote crying? Somehow this sent bloodless to panic a little. Was he in pain? Were they not helping him at all? She usually isn't one to be too emotional in situations but how the poor buck was struggling and calling out for all their help got to her.

She turned to the other kimeti, blinking in confusion when she let go of the branch, the pale doe trying now to pull harder, her teeth bared but her bright eyes following the doe. "Ahh--!!" Bloodless was surprised when the log slid down to the buck, knowing that could've ended quite badly for all of them! But the log settled near the stuck kin at least, and she thought then that it was a great idea.

"Good idea. At least he will have some traction." She said as she let go of the branch, only the other two kiokote does now holding at the branch determinedly. Following the other's actions, she tried to look for a log -- preferably one smaller if needed to help. Finally she found one, pushed it with her nose down to the pit, careful it wasn't going to hit the buck.

"Don't worry, you'll be fine. Just try to get on the logs." She smiled a little as a gesture of comfort at the buck before settling her muzzle back on the branch and pulling. It was quite thrilling for her, she was sure the buck didn't look at the situation the way that she did but Bloodless rather liked this strange happening and how she and others ended up this way.

Ascent's efforts became significantly less urgent, peering at that lodged Kiokote. She was beginning to realize that the other's predicament - worsening or not - might have been entirely of his own making.

That was about the time the log came crashing down and into the area, bouncing neatly off the unfortunate Kio's head. Her jaw slackened with surprise, effectively dropping the branch, turning her head to look with wide eyes at the kicker. That was a hell of a hit -- and either was really impressive aim or the worst aim imaginable!

Following one of the doe's lead, she turned and began to pick up some loose branches, tossing them into the muck to offer traction. At this rate, the dramatic male was going to pull them all in for his theatrics! She had to repress a smile at that, amused and far less alarmed now that there was more help.
