It was the perfect opportunity. Her nemesis had run out to lunch with the rest of the class, leaving his favourite toy (an ugly little wooden car) on his desk and there was nobody around to see her take it. Shrill X slid it off the table after a cursory glance around and tucked it under her arm. This would show him for turning her play-date offer down and maybe after he’d cried a bit, she’d think about giving it back.

The only problem being, of course, was that Shrill X was not alone to carry out her dastardly deeds. She could have gotten away with it if it weren’t for this meddling ghost. It would be the second time that week the teacher’s sent him back into the classroom to put away his book. Lunch was for eating and then for activities, not being reclusive off reading. Revenant went from sulking to rather stunned, blue eyes taking in the filly tucking away a toy he knew wasn’t her’s. The colt stepped forward, letting the door close rather loudly behind him, Revenant nearly leaping out of his metaphorical horseshoes at the unexpected sound.

He wasn’t exactly the most confidant foal out there.

Lua: You are totally rad. Maybe to make it a bit more of a honesty lesson for Rev, at first Shrill could try and get him to keep it a secret?

Shrill X spun around to face her new foe, eyes blazing with self-righteous fury, prepared to defend her actions to the death.

"Oh," she said, after giving him a once over, "it’s only you." Not that she knew his name, but he was that weird guy that sat in the corner all the time reading and was kinda see-through. Easy enough to deal with.

She swaggered over, putting her face right into his. "If you tell anyone what you saw, you’ll regret it."

And of course, as soon as I say quick replies, the universe conspires against me. xD And yes of course, let's do it!

To say the least, Revenant wasn't exactly used to confrontational people. Well, there was White Death, but her modus was more silent and prodding than... this, a face eight up into his and words dripping with silky venom if he dare not to comply. Which he wanted to, evident from how his eyes turned downcast, hooves shuffling against the floor.

"I, um. But that isn't... yours..."

Her eyes narrowed and the threat of violence was absolutely clear.

"Wrong! It's mine until I decide to give it back. You got that?"

It wasn't as if she cared about getting in trouble for what she was doing, she just didn't like anyone getting in her way.

Well, on one hoof. Revenant really was a coward, or at least felt that way at the moment, cowering before his, quite frankly, terrifying peer. On the other hoof, his nerves kept him rooted in place firmly in front of the door, so at least Shrill X couldn't get out with her pilfered toy.

"I- um," backing down was imminent when something his mother once told him stuck in his head. Oh he was still cowering and had to take a breath, but he finally found to words to stammer out a proper reply, "W-what if you came back to your desk and f-found your favorite toy missing?"

If Revenant hadn't been so effectively blocking the door, she would have simply walked around him. As if it was, she was pondering the option of simply knocking him down since he was too stupid to get out of the way by himself.

When he spoke, she gave him an incredulous look.

"What do you think I'd do? I'd find whoever did it and kick their a** to the moon. Which is what I'm gonna do to you because you're still in my way and I want you to move."

Revenant was, at heart, a bit of a chicken. Easily spooked spook. A ghost with not visible backbone, literally and metaphorically. And, unfrotunately, still just a kid, even though he always tried to act older and more responsible. And kids had a few ways of reacting to bullying. Apparently Revenant's was to sit down and sniffle heavily, not crying yet, but the threat was there in his sad little eyes.

"Why're you being mean?" His words were sloppy, not as elegant as he liked to conduct himself, but that was hardly his priority at the moment when facing down a very acidic personality.

Shrill X took a step back, looking completely and utterly disgusted.

"Are you kidding me? You'd better not start crying. Sheesh, I don't even want to hurt ya or nothing. Just move it."

It was pretty simple as far as she was concerned, she wasn't sure why he was having so much trouble with the idea.

It wasn't about the toy- he barely knew the foal that it belonged to, but he still felt /bad/ for him. He had a bunch of siblings, he knew what it was like to have favorite things go missing, though those were by accident. This was just... awful. The threat that he shouldn't cry only prompted his sad little self on, big wet tears rolling down faintly glowing cheeks. Usually this was the part where he'd run for his mother and sniffle into her side, but he was nowhere near home, and this wasn't one of his siblings.

"But it's wrong. You're being a bad person. It's not even in the questionably correct- b-but still wrong way like in books, y-you're just at Scooby-Doo villainy, takin' stuff because you wanna." Which was also horrible, almost just as much horrible in Revenant's silly little drama-obsessed mind.

Temporarily stealing a toy from her nemesis was one thing, making this little baby weakling kid cry was another entirely. Singsong would definitely not approve.

"Stop it!" She demanded, dropping the toy to the ground and stamping a hoof. "Stop crying! Why do you even care?" Shrill huffed in annoyance. "Look, go and tell the teacher of something, but you can't stop me."

The little colt did, at least, flinch at the exclamation, Revenant sniffling and attempting to hold back on the waterworks.

"Because if you're going to do something bad, you could at least do it with flare. You don't even have a mask on! Or a cape, a cape would be a nice touch." Aaah, that would make for a wonderful story, a masked bandit making off with a beloved toy at lunch, no one the wiser of the heist. Of course it would all have to unravel in the plot and the hero put an end to the theft, but it was all part of the story.

"Wow," she said after a moment of baffled silence, "you're serious?"

Then she actually gave it a bit of thought.

"Ya know... a cape would be pretty cool."

If she showed up in front of her nemesis in a cool outfit and his stolen toy, it would be an extra sweet victory.

Of course he was serious. Capes were a serious business, one couldn't just fling them around willy-nilly. Revenant just nodded to that part, however.

"Yeah, I mean, 'cause if you're going to be villainous, you should at least look like it." It was all about atmosphere. Vampires wouldn't be nearly as intriguing if they walked around in normal people clothes, or if zombies were in untattered garments.

"I'm not a villain," she told him with a frown, "this guy deserved it for, well, stuff. Not that it matters. I don't do bad stuff all the time. Just sometimes and I'm nice to the people that matter."

At this point the whole stealing thing was becoming less and less appealing.

"What colour cape should I get? Dark purple would be pretty nice."
