Days meshed into weeks since the pride had been disbanded. It was all a rush, like one day they were there, and the next gone. His sister had left long before, a foreshadowing for Mlia that said he should’ve followed. Why didn’t he follow? Him and Radha were always together growing up. Becoming adults shouldn’t have changed anything. Alas, it did. With the disbanding of the pride, meant finding somewhere else. He could have remained in the ruins of the desert, but what for? All that was left there were empty memories, and a sense of longing for his family.

His family…Slowly they left the pride. Arusi was first to go. Chandran next. Radha followed, then the others. Lastly, his mom and dad on their own ‘mini vacation’ of sorts. He could’ve waited for them to return, if they decided too. They were gone for many moons too. Who knew if they were even still a live? The Southlands were hard on anyone, even former rogues such as his parents.

Mlia sighed, watching the day slowly turn to night. Another day gone, and yet he still hadn’t travelled too far North. In the distance, he could see the mountains, covered with the white film on top. If he looked to the South, the dusty ground of dying grasses, parched from the summer heat.

He would head to the mountains. Nothing was left behind him.

Elsa was getting more used to the bright sun of the rogue lands. The more small trips she took out here, the less the sun bothered her. It still bore down more heavily on her than, she imagined, those born out here in the brightness and the heat, but at least she did not feel like fainting after a few moments of walking in the sunlight. Sometimes, when she first started these trips, she wondered if she really was made out of snow, and she was melting a bit each moment she was under the heat.

That was a silly thought, of course. She was just born and raised in the cold, and though her coat was icy blue, it was not actually made of frozen water.

Still, nighttime was always a little easier on her. It was cooler, and the moon was far more gentle on her sensitive fur and skin. She liked the transition, as well, and enjoyed watching the sun set and the colors of twilight play across the evening sky.

She saw a lion heading in the direction she was walking from, and smiled at him. She had no real choice but to make eye contact with him, as their paths were almost exact, except opposite. She padded a bit closer, cautious, but holding herself up regally and nodding her head low in greeting, a gentle bow.

"Good evening," she said softly, "I hope the night finds you well." She always liked to greet others, hoping they might be able to help her, or she might be able to help them.

If Mlia had been as attentive as he were when he was younger, he would have seen the approaching lioness. Lost in thought, it wasn’t until the female interrupted his thoughts with her soft voice. His ears perked forward, a light tremble coursing through his veins. He still was not use to meeting new faces without the ‘protection’ his sister Radha offered.

Pale purple eyes took in the light blue female with the unusual markings. He was one to talk about unusual markings. He basically held the night sky on the lower portion of his body.

“Uhm…evening…” he stammered out, finding it rude of himself to keep staring at the female without actually speaking to her.

“It…” he trailed off. Nothing really was going well for Mlia. It wasn’t this lioness’ fault however for mentioning. “It is going as well as it probably could go,” given the circumstances. He added on silently.

Mlia’s voice was low, holding the lost tone in it. He sure was lost.

“Pardon me,” he eyed the lioness, gazing towards her, before looking past her. “I guess I wasn’t expecting to meet anyone else out here tonight,” the lion didn’t actively look to mingle with others, which is why he never expected to meet anyone new. But…since she was standing before hand, she could be of some use.

“You wouldn’t happen to know exactly where…we are?” For example, intruding on another’s pride land. Mlia caught no scent of a territory, so he assumed he was safe.

Elsa made a face at his words, sensing more to them than he was letting on. It was a gentle and concerned expression, ears drooping back just a little bit as she looked him over a little more curiously. He looked like he had just fallen out of the sky himself, stars coloring his pelt, and that made her feel oddly more comfortable. She could not help it, though it was a silly little tie between them.

"I'm sorry if I'm intruding... we were walking along the same path and I thought it was polite to say something... I didn't mean to interrupt you if you were thinking about something, or if you need to continue..." She spoke bashfully, shy for a Queen but she could not quite help herself yet. She was working on it, and after meeting with the God of Royalty she was determined to get better about things like this, but she was still unused to speaking with strangers, and lions she had no power over. This was not one of her lions, after all. Just another lion in the rogue lands, like she was.

She smiled at him softly, nodding.

"We are not too far from the frozen island I call home. It is behind me, in those tall mountains. I've been through this land a couple of times, but I don't believe any pride has claimed it. Or if they have, they're very good at hiding themselves." She chuckled, trying to ease the tension she felt pouring off of her, willing herself to be calm and collected.

“No…no,” Mlia started. This is why he should pay more attention to his surroundings. “It…it is quite alright,” she may have interrupted his thoughts, but the star-pelted male knew things happened for a reason. His father taught him that as a youngster.

“Frozen island?” Mlia came from the desert, the land locked area with very little water, and sand that went on for miles and miles. His father was from the mists, and his mother from a pride with giant rock formation. The two adults had traveled when they first met (he remembered the his mother telling his siblings and himself about their travels to all spectrums of lands), but never had they mentioned what a ‘frozen island’ was.

Mlia did know what frozen meant. The desert dropped in temperatures of near freezing at night during certain parts of the years. He didn’t appreciate those wicked dips in climate. “What is…an island?” the lion questioned.

His eyes peered to the tall mountains. He’d definitely had to check it out, just to see exactly what this lioness spoke of. He’d have stories to tell from his own adventures then.

Elsa watched him and smiled at him and did not seem too upset by his bashful reaction. she was a very shy lioness, when it came down to it. Though she was a Queen and she was very good at putting her best royal airs on by now, when she was one on one and especially when she was away from her home land and not a queen at all, she could be quiet and sweet. She did not really have much interaction with others outside of being Queen, in fact, so she could still be bumbly and awkward.

"An.. an island?"

She was not sure why the question surprised her so much. She supposed she had always lived on that island, in the middle of that lake. She always knew mountains, knew water, and knew snow. If she were sent to a desrt, though, or if she was asked what an oasis was, she would have no real idea. Even the thick jungles and sparse savannahs she had been walking by out here in the rogue lands were new to her.

"It's a little piece of land, in the middle of a lot of water," she said, thinking that was as good an explanation for it as she was going to be able to say. After all, she did not really know how islands worked, in the technical and geological sense, anyway. "You're welcome to visit and see it some time."
