Rishima had been walking along, innocently in fact, or at least as innocently as one walked when on patrol, when the ground beneath his feet seemed to rumble a little. It was likely the fact that he was on such high alert at the moment that he even noticed it, well that and the fact that his antennae picked up on such things. He was able to throw himself to one side, rolling along and then back up to his feet, as a Wadana showed itself. It had been quite startling, even more so when a second one showed itself, making him feel a little out numbered but given what he'd faced in the battle against Oba these things weren't exactly on the top of his list of things that he was afraid to battle.
No, these were far smaller then the last thing that he'd fought and even with those gnashing jaws of theirs he wasn't really that intimidated. If anything he found himself wondering if Wadana was something that would make a good meal. They really were in need of food, of any sort, back at camp. He felt that he should at least try to take one of them down. They could take back, cook it up, and see if it was worth eating. If it was then maybe he'd go out looking for more of them, as well as really anything else that might be able to be turned into food. Given how many wounded their were, how many people were taking care of said wounded, and how much all of those people ate even Wadana would likely seem like a feast for Kings.
The battle against the creatures was one that he had to see to going about in a careful manner. They were armored creatures after all, they had dangerous jaws that might risk his weapon, and were otherwise a real bother. He had to look for openings as the creatures moved, attack when he saw them, and retreat when necessary. It wasn't so much a difficult battle as it was one that he had to take his time with. If he were to rush it he could get hurt, his weapon could be damaged, or the creatures might get away before he was able to take one or both of them down. All things that he didn't want to see happen. Given everything else going on at the moment the very last thing he wanted to deal with was to have his weapon get damaged. What sort of awful sign would that be after all?
The slow going and very deliberate battle continued on until Rishima was finally able to see an opening that was worth taking advantage of and he buried the sharp head of his spear into the softer part of the Wadana that had been exposed during one of its attempted attacks. The creature gave an awful sort of shrieking sound, twitched a bit, then went still. Taking this as a sign the second one decided that retreat was in order and set to digging itself into the ground where Rishima would be unable to get at it without a lot of extra work that he wasn't interested in doing. Hurrying off the half blood was quick to fetch some vines, attaching them to the fallen Wandana, and moved to drag it back to camp where the cooks were located. If it was edible they would see to it that it fed those in need, if not the shell would still be useful for all manner of things givens its size. Either way he saw it as a win.
