Where had she gone wrong? Weeks and months had gone into the preparation to get close to the warren without attracting notice, to lure her brother away from its defensive patrols, to keep an eye and ear open always for the threat of elil. To know what to say and how to say it. To see him. To ask his forgiveness.
But he wouldn't talk to her. He didn't even give her an opportunity to test her prepared speech before he threatened to wake the others and chase her out. One glance at her had been enough to incite the slumbering rage he held, and it was not long until she'd fled. Still, she couldn't bring herself to leave the fringes of the warren -- not yet, at least. She was just as angry with Red as he was with her. But she was crying, too.

Sneezey had gone outside in hopes to find some fresher air to breath, though with his sinuses always seeming to tickle his little rabbit nose, that task was often impossible in and of itself. Today was no different, though, at least the air outside felt a little more crisper than inside. He could sense that much.
Sniffling, and having lost track of how far he had gone, he came across the sounds of ... more sniffling. Sniffling not of his own doing and definitely not an itchy scratchy kind of sniffle. This was more like... crying sniffles.
Venturing closer, he finally spotted the form of a hlessi... a doe hlessi. She was the one crying. The one making the sniffles. First instincts told him to chase her off but the site of her made him frown. He couldn't do that, not when she was clearly upset. "Excuse me...... are you alright?" he called out timidly, but with concern.

The life of a hlessi was a hard one, and it was not through sheer luck that Blue had survived on her own for so long. Her long ears caught the minute traces of sound: sniffles that at first she might have mistaken for her own, had they not the raspy qualities that came with allergies rather than emotion. Her brother was not particularly suspect to pollen, and he was not like to return to her, anyway -- which meant this had to be a stranger.
Instinct and experience screamed at her to leap away, but a more desperate need kept her at bay: the desire to kick someone in the face. And who better than a member of her own brother's warren? Surely that would serve to make her feel better more than crying ever would. So she sat. She waited. But what she received was not at all what she was expecting.
Where was the aggression? The fight? Surely even non-Owsla would feel some threat from a hlessi and want to drive one off. But this... was it a trick? She had not been addressed by another rabbit for a long time, and she regarded the new buck with eyes slitted with suspicion. It was not until a few moments had passed that she realized he might have been expecting an answer.
"I am," she said, wiping off what remained of her tears. Her voice was low -- she didn't want others to hear it and come running -- but her sharp tone could still be made out.

While waiting for an answer, Sneezewart's paws shot up to rub at his nose, the constant itching sensation having long become something he was used too. He eyed her, her long ears, sharp golden eyes, and rather beautiful coat. It wasn't like many he had seen before, though he felt that it seemed a bit familiar, though he could not place a name nor image to anyone but her for now.
When she finally did answer, his ears shot up at the sharpness in her tone. He wasn't surprised, thinking she probably thought he was here to run her off. Of course that wasn't quite the case. Bee's for brains after all, perhaps his dad was inside him somewhere. "Forgive me, you don't seem alright." he said, more in a questioning tone, followed by some more itchy sniffling. "I heard the sniffles of tears.....and you look to have been crying..... you.. ah... aren't hurt are you?" he asked, hopping a bit closer to try to sniff for any wounds.

Blue's lip curled at the sight of the buck's grooming. Sickness, too, was something she had to avoid; with none to look after her, even the simple cold could very well mean her death. He did not look particularly ill, however. It was rather the opposite: the sheen of his eyes and coat suggested at a robust health. Feh. Not surprising, considering the no-doubt coddled lifestyle everyone in the warren led.
"That's not for you to decide, is it? I'm fine, thank you very much."
Again he did something strange: he came closer. A feeling of unease passed through her. Like the opposite ends of a magnet, she matched every step he took, attempting to keep the same level of distance between them. Then, with ears swiveling to catch signs of a trap, "What's with all these questions?"

Sneeze stopped when he realized that as he got closer, she moved farther back. And seemed none too trusting. Smarts may have not been his strong suite, but he was starting to get it. Stopping, he put on a smile as big as a rabbit could muster. "Is there anything I can say to convince you that I'm just concerned? I wont hurt you." he said, his tone sincere, if not a little bit congested with sinuses. He raised one ear forward towards her before bringing a hind foot up to scratch for a second before settling down into the grass like a plump ball of bun. "I'm Sneezewort. Fitting, huh. Since I have such bad allergies.... " he chuckled, again paws darting up to rub furiously at his itchy nose.

"You wouldn't be able to hurt me if you tried," Blue bluffed, glad the dim light of the moon hid her gaunt features. Flay was not difficult to find these days, but the stress and physical exertion that came with not having a burrow was enough to offset her meals.
Yet despite her uncertainty, she couldn't help but admit he really did look nonthreatening. Life here had made him squishy, and his huge smile seemed more like a loon's than a manipulative rabbit's. Plus, he hadn't notified anyone else of her presence.
"...You can call me Bindy," she finally replied. "Blue" was not for strangers, and like hell she was giving anyone else a chance to call her a weed. Though he didn't seem like the type who would, even if he did know her full name. She still had her suspicious, but... it had been a long time since anyone had spoken to her as if she weren't cursed.
"You've had 'em since you were little, then?" she asked, pawing at her nose to indicate she was referring to his sneezes.
