The long unused arena of Castellum Umbra is a gruesome and threatening place. Gladiators squared off against horrid beasts, incompetent humans, and even Sun Court prisoners in the past, and the bloody stains of that history still mar the ground.
The oval stadium is enormous, with tiered rows of stone seats raising upwards towards the sky. Giant braziers are set all around the field, with hanging lanterns suspended over it on ropes to light the field of combat even on the darkest of nights.
Tunnels run beneath the space where prisoners, beasts to combat, and gladiators were made ready for their fights. Above the lower tiers in the center of one side, a box is set for the Moon Court ruler and their entourage to watch the spectacle from.
