Roll = 60, passes ***** After what felt like an eternity of travel, with a few breaks along the way just due to him being a bit nervous, the Merkora Tallulah had finally arrived at his destination. It would be here that he would go through the ritual with the guidance of one who did it before him. If all went well then the power in the many orbs that he had gathered would allow him to become Merkorian. As he approached with his basket in tow, the contents clinking together, he could feel his heart starting to thud in his chest. He was here, he was actually here, and it was actually time for this to happen! He would be joining Eyphah and a few others to become something grand, something rare, something powerful! It was something that he couldn't help but to be excited over.
It was when he actually saw Anodyne in all of her glory that his fear and nerves were swept away and he was fill with not but anticipation. This was it! All of the battles in the past, the victories and the losses, the injuries, all of it, it was suddenly all racing through his mind as he moved forward. The very first 'battle' he'd had in which Eyphah saved him from a rather dangerous Kiandri all the way to his last battle in which Grrel and himself had battle all manner of sea dwelling baddies and all of the countless battles along the way. He'd done it, he'd actually done it, and it was time for all of that to come to its final culmination in which he would become something grand!
When he reached Anodyne he set his basket, which was filled to the brim with orbs, down at her feet and then lifted his head, "I'm ready." He told her, his tail swishing behind him. He knew that he was different from her, she was Khehorian while he was striving to become Merkorian but surely the ritual wouldn't be too different, right? At least he didn't think so. Surely not? There was a moment he felt a bit of panic but when her hand came to rest on his head it helped to calm him significantly. Lifting his gaze to meet with hers he listed as she told him what it was that he had to do. A ritual that would use all of the orbs that he had brought with him, it would leave his collection empty save for the Diabi Orb he'd left behind. It was quite the sacrifice but he felt that it would be worth it, this was what he was gathering them for after all. Besides there were plenty of dragons out there in the world. What was stopping him from going out to collect a whole new mountain of orbs at his leisure?
Giving a smile and a nod he picked up his basket when he was instructed to, following along behind her into a well lit cave. It would seem as though the ritual was to be done inside, away from prying eyes. They didn't want the other races to know all of their secrets after all. This was something that only their kind would know, something that only their kind would use. The last thing that they wanted was to give the other races more ammunition to use against one another. The last thing Tallulah wanted was to give them more ammunition to use against the Khehora as a whole. He'd seen what one of the two-legs had done to Eyphah with her powers, the last thing he wanted was to fuel that. It was likely a good thing that he'd met Nehelini along the way or he might have ended up feeling the same as Eyphah did about them. That they were all dangerous creatures that belonged in a stew pot, not as friends, save for a very, very miniscule amount of them that were possibly worthwhile.
Once they were inside the large, open area he set to work laying out his orbs in the manner that she instructed him to. All of them, save for the Peisio orbs were laid out in a circle, each orb an equal distance away from the others. It was a long, drawn out, tedious sort of task to get them 'just right' but he didn't care how long it would take, not when he wanted to get this right. From there he was to take all of the Peisio Orbs, his clan's orbs, and make a smaller circle within the bigger circle. Given that there were only four of them though it ended up looking a bit more like a square then a circle but upon asking he was told that it would be fine. Now all he had to do was stand within the smaller 'circle' and concentrate. He had to bring the power of all of the orbs that he had gathered into himself, use them to enhance his own, innate powers. If he could sync his own powers with that of the multitude of orbs that were laid out before him then he would be able to access a form much like that Eyphah and Anodyne had access to. It would be a beautiful, powerful form, one he would use well.
The orbs in the outer circle started to glow first, filled with a bright glow, a rainbow of colors starting to dance against the walls of the cave that he was in. Tendrils of power from the bigger circle then reached out toward the four Peisio orbs lighting them up around Tallulah as well, the smaller circle glowing more brightly then the first, before the tendrils of light, now all all turned a deep blue, reached out and engulfed Tallulah. As their power flowed into him the orbs started to pop one by one, slowly at first and then in more rapid succession. All of their powers were gathered first to the four Peisio Orbs, filtered through them, and fed to Tallulah. The final four orbs popped all at once, the last of their power given to Tallulah who now stood there one two shaky legs, his tail swishing rapidly behind him. His eyes popped open, glowing for a moment with the power that he had been flooded with before the light faded to reveal Tallulah's normal eyes.
"W-Woah... that was... a rush..." He murmured, liftin a hand to rub it against his face, then upon realizing he had hands he took a step back, staggered, and ended up on his knees. It would appear that he wasn't quite used to his new form yet and wasn't quite ready to run around in the manner that Eyphah did. That didn't matter though, he didn't really mind that he wasn't about to get up and run quite yet. Just the fact alone that he had been able to complete the ritual, that he had been able to become Merkorian, that was more then enough for him.
A moment later Anodyne returned, helping to dress him in a simple outfit, telling him that save for this wrap he would need to find other clothing on his own. It would seem that modesty was something he would need to learn now that he was walking around on two legs he thought to himself. It was a two-leg thing to worry about, clothing, but now that he had this form he supposed that he would have to worry about it as well. Looking up at Anodyne he gave her a smile, "You have my thanks, Mistress Anodyne." He said, bowing his head to her in a respectful manner, "I will leave soon if you need me to, I just need to get used to this new form." He didn't want to keep her if she had places to be and others to help. Much to his relief though she told him to take all the time he needed. She had things to do, yes, but she wasn't going to just throw him out now that he was done with his ritual. He would be given time to adjust and once he felt he was ready to face the world again he could leave. She just wanted him to tell her when he was going was all, something he felt he could do.
He thanked her again as she retired from the room, likely needing to prepare to help someone else, perhaps? Smiling to himself he set about trying to figure out the whole walking with two legs thing. Eyphah had made it look so easy but it was really far from it, huh? No matter, he'd get the hang of it he thought to himself, determined to make full use of the new form that he had been blessed with. Once he was done here he would see about figuring out if he'd gained any sort of new powers as well. It was something else that Eyphah had told him about, chatting in a happy manner about his new ability to heal himself when he damaged others. It was an interesting sort of ability though he'd be happier with something that allowed him to heal others. He wanted to be able to look after those like Eyphah who ran in head long without thought after all.
A smile on his face the newly changed Merkorian set returned to his walking attempts, the same attempts that would end up filling up the rest of the afternoon for him. He would end up getting the hang of it eventually but he wanted at least to be able to walk out of the cave on his own two feet. After that he might see about a nap.
