belle dae
Blay has spent most of the day by himself. His parents having thought him able to take care of himself for a couple hours. The mornings were warmer lately and leaves were just starting to come out, but he didn't really care for any of that stuff. He needed to find SOMETHING to do. And his parents just weren't cutting it. He just didn't think they understood how he felt. Caught between being a uni and kalona. I mean, where did he really fit in? With a huff, he kicked a rather large rock with his hoof and sighed. He definitely didn't wanna end up like his old man. He was just so... lame. He didn't understand why his mother chose a stallion like him. It was embarrasing. Seriously.

Atlas was fuming still, landing with a thud on the ground. She immediately began kicking rocks in all directions and having a conversation with what appeared to be herself, just now being able to think of the good comments she should have made earlier. She screamed in anger and kicked the near by, defenseless tree with all she had. Breathless, Atlas felt the tears pricking her eyes. Stupid, stupid, stupid stallions!

Quote:
The bushes rustled near Blay and a couple loud thunks sounded around him. What was going on? Curiosity took hold of him and he crept closer, only to get pelted in the side. With a YELP he jumped, looking down at the offending pebble. The sounds of loud screaming and yelling seem to call him closer to inspect the situation. Was it a two legger? He'd only heard about them, never actually seen them. And apparently they could be dangerous. But then, that came from his father. Everything was a possinle danger as far as he was concerned. Rolling his eyes he poked his head through the bushes and tilted his head curiously at the sight. A mare. A furious mare by the looks of it.

Quote:
"What's wrong Attie-girl?" she mocked in a horrible irish accent, and she shook her mane in frustration. "Whats wrong you ungrateful cod and b*****d ?! Oh you SUCK. Thats what!" she whirled around to fume some more but nearly tripped after she caught sight of a little foal's face peering at her. "U..uh.. How long have you been there." she blushed furiously under her coat and stood, half embarrassed, half indignant. "Its not nice to spy."

Quote:
Grinning he came out of the bushes and lifted his chin. "It's not nice to interrupt either." he said simply. At least, that's what his father always said. It's rude to interrupt when adults are talking. He assumed that was also true to when adult were talking to themselves. "Who's the b*****d?"

Quote:
Her eyes grew wide and she moved, her wings extended as if to cover his mouth. Looking around to see the raging parents barrel through, Atlas drew back. A stranger covering their foals mouth would be more alarming than him cursing... "Don't curse. You're too young for that." She said half sternly, half hesitant. Who the heck was this kid? It was clear he was part Kalona... and part.. Not? That was some fluffy tail he had, she noted. Her perked an eyebrow and tried to appear more adult. "What are you doing out here alone, kid?"

Quote:
Chuffing, he stepped back and raised his eyebrow at her. "I'm not that young... My Mom said I could roam alone for a while, just as long as I stay close enough that she could find me." So, saying b*****d in front of his parents would be bad? That was fine, he'd just catalog it for later use. "But who was it? You seem really mad at him"

Quote:
Atlas flattened her ears and looked away. "Uh.. a friend." she narrowed her eyes and a heat bloomed in her chest again. "Or he was. But he's just an idiot prat like most of em." She looked down at him, not looking the least apologetic on that one. "Don't become a pratty, dim stallion that treats women poorly, 'kay kid?"

Quote:
Taking a moment to think about the situation, Blay just shook his head slightly. "If he's not your friend anymore, don't be mad. He doesn't matter and isn't important. Right?" At least, that's the way he saw it. Especially if the guy was pratty and treated her badly. He didn't know what pratty meant, but it didn't sound good. Whatever it was, he didn't wanna be like this stallion she spoke of. "What if she was mean to me first?"

Quote:
Atlas smiled softly and felt her anger ebb some. He was smart for his age, she had to give him that... but not smart enough to be left alone just yet. She questioned the parenting of his family for letting a little one romp about. "If she's mean to you first, dump her. She's not worth your time, kid. Especially for one that's as smart as you are."

Quote:
"Hmmm" He supposed that made sense. But, it made him wonder what that pratty male had done to make this lady so upset.. "Are you okay now? You need to find a nicer friend, Miss."

Quote:
She giggled a little, and nodded. "I will be okay. and I think I agree with you." she sighed, feeling the weight of it all still on her chest. "Do you wanna try being my friend? Even for just a little bit?"

Quote:
"A girl friend?" he said, wrinkling his nose a bit. But when he looked back up at her, he nodded. Even though she was older than him, he could tell that she was still upset, perhaps not as much, but kids usually knew when something was wrong. And he was no exception. If it meant helping this nice lady, he'd do it. Just for a little while. "Okay.. just don't hug me.. I always hate my mom and sis do that.."

Quote:
She suppressed more giggles and she nodded. "Thank you. You're pretty good, kid. What's your name? I'm Atlas." She walked closer and knelt down to be eye level with the foal.

Quote:
"That's a weird name.." he said, smiling. Weird only for the fact that he'd never heard of it before. His wings fluttered slightly at his sides, his chin raised as he spoke his own. "Blay"

Quote:
She kept her gentle smile. "Blay is a weird name too. I guess its cool we're friends since we both have weird names. Whats your parents names? Maybe I know them." She serious doubted that, but she'd like to know all the same. Maybe her own parents would know them. Again, she questioned their whereabouts. What if she was a kidnapper? He'd be completely at her mercy.
