This area is where anyone who stays, visits or just wanders within the realm, will see first. It is like a city full of demons, witches and kishins. that either live and work there or visit and shop. It is connected to the King's/Queen's palace and is the only way to get there. Usually when meetings are called or if there are an issues one has with the King/Queen, they can come here and demand an audience. If you wish to purchase items or use portals to enter the Human World, you may do so here. The laws of the Netherworld still applies within the city, so, should anyone disturb the peace here, they will be sent to the King/Queen and await his or her judgement.
As the inhabitants of Demon City went about their normal everyday lives, a small black portal would appear in one of the less populated streets of the city. While it was no surprise to see portals opening up randomly around the city, a few of the newer demons would seem rather shocked by the sudden appearance. A few seconds after the portal opened up, Atticus could be seen stepping out. The moment he did, his entire body was bombarded with intense madness, but he was unaffected by that. After all this time, he was so well accustomed to the madness, that the Netherworld felt more like home to him, rather than the Human World. Looking around the street, Atticus held up his hand and spoke to Luen, "Alright, Luen, lets get to work." he said, before glancing back at the portal, "Lets get moving Shira, the longer we stay here, the longer everyone will be able to pick up your scent. If they found out that a shinigami is here, things could get bad."
Shira stepped out of the portal, wincing for a split second from the madness before burring her face into her scarf slightly. Her wavelength was pretty low so hopefully no one would sense she is a shinigami for the moment. "Right..." she said, hoping Krieg would be alright. Luen beeped before his eye turned in the direction where they should start walking, like a compass almost.
Once Shira exited the portal, Atticus sensed Krieg's wavelength coming from it. Sighing, he chose to not think twice about bringing the boy along. "That kishin is unstable, should he come here and become engulfed by this madness, he would go berserk and more than likely he would be arrested or maybe even killed." Atticus told Shira. It seems, leaving Krieg behind was Atticus' way of trying to keep the boy safe, well in his own way. He then started walking towards the area where Luen had been showing. "Please stay close to me."
Shira listened to Atticus quietly without saying anything. Once he started walking, Shira followed, wrapping her arm around his. She was obviously a little nervous about possibly getting caught. She did her best not to let it show on her face though.
Feeling Shira wrap her arm around his own, Atticus would pull her in close and smile. "Don't worry too much. As long as you are with me, you will not be noticed." As the two walked through the streets, countless beings would be seen. Some appeared human, others were no doubt demons and kishins. The bustling streets were truly a magnificent sight. Atticus and Shira would end up walking pass a group of demons that were on their way to the human world portal. As they went pass the group, the scent of Shira's shinigami blood would pass by the group, this caused at least two of the demons to stop and turn around. Noticing this, Atticus would carefully remove his jacket and place it over Shira, this would cover up her scent with that of his own demonic one, this worked as the demons continued on their way. "I almost forgot their keen sense of smell. Until we reach Mirai's place, you should keep my jacket on." he told her before heading towards one of the many interconnecting roads, that led to a vast open land. Looking down at Luen, it seemed that Mirai's territory was somewhere out there. So, with Shira in tow, Atticus left Demon City.
Shira nodded "Y-Yeah..." she muttered as she made sure to keep the jacket on. She continued clinging on to Atticus and looking around. Meanwhile, Luen continued leading them. ((Exit))
➟Exiting the portal that led to Demon City, Donovan strolled along. Despite the major differences between the human world and the demon world, Donovan didn't mind strolling along one bit. After coming to the DMA his visits to the somewhat exclusive world have been constant. Although he found himself rather addicted to the area, he was fascinated by the demons and their own lifestyles. Donovan was also envious of the other demons, they had so much knowledge and odd powers that he couldn't use himself. One of the main things he wanted to do was create his own little paradise or in other words, create his own realm that could be filled with his vivid imaginations. Letting his mind run loose to create whatever it truly desired sounded like something he would very much like to do, but there were still more things to learn. Walking along he noticed the various types of demons and among them were tall, some big, some weird, and then there some that looked like they could pass for average humans like Donovan. Being careful he dodged all of the demons that walked near him so he wouldn't end up being pushed back. "I wonder what kinds of food they have here, I bet they have all sorts of exotic foods. Maybe they'll have dried worms of fried horse brains...weird, I'm so good at coming up with these gross foods. Heck maybe I should set shop here and sell stuff. People will line up for my outrageous food ideas!" He didn't mind that he was talking to himself since no one seemed to be paying him any attention anyway. His arms were folded on his back as he continued his little stroll. There was still time to head back to the academy so he was in no rush to hurry.
"The bonds I forge are what give me the ultimate strength, their hearts strong and brave shall guide me to an absolute and unbeatable power."
Stepping out of the portal Lilitu walked down the high street until she reached halfway. Stopping there she stabbed the handle of her lantern into the ground, the four souls floating in the candle cage quite peacefully, and pulled out a sign.
"Will Work/Kill For Cash"
With more and more witches either joining the DMA or at least working with them work for normal witches was becoming scarce. This had led to Lilitu having to take on small jobs in order to pay for her research. But she didn't mind. It was nice to visit new places and the research into Witch Weapon Hybrids hadn't been getting any results since her and even she had been a failure. It had become so bad that many witches had abandoned the idea, saying that it could never work effectively. But Lilitu was determined to prove them wrong, if the experiments could create her then surely the next stage up was possible. But that still didn't help her cash problem, hopefully someone would give her a job.
"I hear the songs of the dead and they sing for you"
A distortion in time and space caused a black portal to be opened in front of Lilitu. To the naked eye one would only be able to see a vast plane of eternal darkness. Anyone would have been able to realize that a spell was at work however the form of magic that was being casted was quite old and even thought to have been lost. Slowly a figure came into view.
"Well, well what marvelous creature you are. It would appear the rumors where true." A venomous voice stated.
A cloaked women emerged from the black portal and appeared before Lilitu. The portal instantly closed behind the mysterious women. The woman's features was concealed by her cloak but she did wield an eye catching golden trident. Aside from her trident another oddity to the women was the constant black mist what circled around her feet. The hooded women inspected the giant women that towered over her. Though her face was covered a devilish grin appeared on the woman's face.
"I have heard tales of you my. The shadows have proudly whispered your name. I have been searching for you for some time now. "
Lilitu's face remained her usual passive, yet worried, look as she looked down at the older woman. Her weapon instincts were going haywire, telling her that one wrong move could be the end of her. She shifted her gaze to the large clock at the center of the city and then back to the woman. Placing down her sign she folded her claws together, the sharp sound of steel on steel was very prominent. "Good evening... kapa." She said in a soft voice and bowed a greeting.
"I hear the songs of the dead and they sing for you"
Zelda remained silent after hearing the woman's greeting and watched the women carefully. Zelda noticed that the woman's fingers were actually blades, which meant that Zelda had found the fight target. The dark mist around Zelda's feet became more violet. The swirled around and began to spread out.
"So you are indeed the fabled witch's experiment. Your claws are proof enough. And I see you are looking for work as well. How convenient. I wish to hire you child. If the rumors about you are true then you poses a skill set that would be beneficial to my plans. Tell me my dear child a lady like yourself must have a name. So what is your name child?" Zelda said calmly, yet in a chilling tone.
Lilitu wasn't suprised for two reasons, one being that her existance was the talk of witches a while back and two she didn't know how to be suprised. Standing up straight and tilting her head slightly Lilitu remained silent for a few seconds. "Lilitu Adrat..." She tried thinking of a suitable title to call this women by and eventually decided on, "Mistress... Kapa."
