Vivien isn't the usual type of vampire, risky and power-hungry. She's old enough to realize the dangers of her actions and to know the consequences. Vivien is very settled into her life in America, she neither wants more nor less in life. She find that just keeping the balance is enough for her. There's not need to rock the boat. She is mature and confident, strong in her ways and independent from all others. Despite this independence and confidence in herself from all the years she lived, she is also soft and kind, caring for those she likes and will often help whenever she can if it is safe for her and her nest.
Vivien does not take kindly to outbursts and disrespect. If her rules are broken a strict disciplinarian side comes out and will swiftly take care of business. The cost of breaking her rules? Death. After all, that's pretty final. No more trouble from them after that. While most vampires see themselves as separate from humanity, Vivien still views herself as human, just... augmented. After all, she still feels, thinks, and hungers for pleasures like one. Though she often views herself as 'too old' for this age's youth and style of entertainment, which leaves her a very lonely woman who usually keeps to herself when she can allow that away from her duties.

Vivien wasn't born as 'Vivien' but as Annia Aurelia Galeria Lucilla and was the second daughter and third child of Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius and Roman Empress Faustina the Younger on March 7, 148AD. Her younger brother was the future Roman Emperor Commodus. Most of her history was written down in detail and can be found easily these days, but what was hidden was the fact that Lucilla found a stand-in for herself before her brother could fulfill his incestuous comments towards her. The only problem was the replacement's looks, while Lucilla had a full face and soft features this woman had sharper features to her face.
It would take far longer than she had planned to deceive them all to think this woman was her. It took four long years of wearing make-up to make her features seem less full and deeper in age before she was able to properly replace her presence with the decoy. The woman was trained to act like her, wear her clothes and stand up for her interests while being noble and distinctively an 'Empress'. When the switch off was indeed successful, Lucilla took a great share of her things and under the guise of a made up persona, she escaped Rome and moved to Tuscany with her lover, Antonio. They got married under her false Identity, officially claiming it as her new life as a less noble woman to his family who owned land there.
Over the years, she would have to sell most of her riches and clothing to help support their new life and to keep afloat through his gamboling debts and famine. Her new life had become a poor Hell and she once more longed for the life she once lived. After hearing about her decoy's death after a failed coup, she was utterly tired of hiding but knew now that she could never switch back.
Unbeknownst to her, she was watched for most of her new life, this man whom her husband owed a great deal of money to, was there to collect. He knew they could not pay what was owed, but he had a different payment in mind anyway, his wife. Torn between his beautiful wife and being able to be free from debt and potential harm for not paying, he gave his wife to the man. She was now HIS property and Lucilla was enraged by this, fighting her captor and cursing her husband. As he was taking her away, he ordered the farm to be burned away with the hub and in it for betraying his wife over the ability to be free from debt.
Lucilla was treated well in this new dark place, untouched by the sun. She was fed, clothed in much more than the rags she wore, and even bathed. The mysterious man revealed himself to be a former noble of Rome, wanting only to be known as Romulus, and that he had something better planned for her. He knew who she was, what she had done, what her decoy had done, and what had happened to her for it. Romulus offered her a choice; Join him and seek revenge on those that once owned her life, or to become a pretty trophy for his meals til she was a dried up husk. Lucilla called him insane but Romulus only smiled, revealing a row of sharp fangs, stating that she did not understand what he was offering her... what he was.
Romulus brought out a former maid of hers from when she was Empress and began to feed off of her till she was dead. Lucilla watched in a mix of horror and revulsion as her former maid's body slumped to the floor, lifeless. Romulus offered this gift to her once more, only this time letting her have some time to think about it. He gave her 4 days alone and without food or water, the body left to rot where she had dropped, blocking the door. Sick with grief and hunger, disgusted by herself without proper facilities, she stepped over the body and pounded her fists against the door, begging and pleading for him to hear her, that she would accept it.
He gave her an extra day alone before sauntering in and 'rescuing' her from the filth, darkness, and stench of foul waste and death. He had her cleaned up and fed, rested, and groomed. Romulus then came to her again, this time ready to give her his gift. She accepted and over some time, changed her into a vampire like him, strong and fierce. They kileld together, hesitant at first, but she quickly gave in to stop her hunger and together they slew hundreds, Romans and foreigners alike.
The years went on like this, though he already had a mate, she began to fancy him while he only viewed her as his plaything, his brand new toy to teach and show off in his nest. His mate Mariella became enraged by the attention he showed her, the patience and interest. Whether it be for selfish reasons or not, Mariella didn't approve of him having such a tempting pet. Romulus gave in and allowed his mate to have time with his pet. Lucilla quickly found Mariella to be a harsh mistress and a cruel teacher, often making Lucilla kill children and feed off of animals instead of humans, punishing her for all the lost attention from her mate that Lucilla took.
While Lucilla barely kept track of the year and times around her, it was in the mid 1500's when people were being dragged out of their homes and accused, burned, tortured, torn apart, and more for being witches, monsters, and demon lovers. It was then that she had the idea to break away from the nest of cruelty and abuse. After stealing a noble woman's garments, Lucilla told a priest that there was a den on monsters that she had overheard a servant speaking about, and she gave the location of the nest. After that, she vanished, running away from the possibility that Romulus would know what she had done. She fled the country on the kindness of travelers, evidently leaving a trail of bodies in her wake since she was never taught to just feed from them and not ill them.
This lead the only survivor of the former nest, Romulus, to pursue after her, Hunters hot on his trail, but he was determined to end the b***h that caused his mate to be slain. Luckily for her, Lucilla caught a merchant trade ship out of Italy heading towards England. On the lengthy voyage, she learned as much English as she could from the crew, as she was still pretending to be Italian nobility, paying them with money she had taken from the dead to back up her claim.
Lucille never found out what happened to Romulus, whether he wad dead now or after her. Having given nearly all her stolen money away for English lessons from the merchants, Lucilla was left with very little in way of getting around London. She was foreign, ever more so than just from a different country, she was also foreign to this time period. It was the early 1600's and fashion was so... lavish, so rich, that she would never be able to afford it. Lucilla returned to her bad ways and started to kill prostitutes in the street, working her way up to their owners, to those the prostitutes serviced.
Til finally, she struck gold, a very wealthy widow's mind was going and one night when Lucille was creeping up on her to end her life, the woman called out, asking if that was her granddaughter
Evelyn. Thinking quickly, Lucille blurted out that yes, she it was her. The old woman smiled and asked to look upon her to see how she had grown. Lucilla dreaded having to kill her, but she stood in front of her chair anyway. Finally she noticed that the old woman's eyes were milky white, she was blind. A brilliant plan started to form in her mind. Why not take this Evelyn's place as this old woman's granddaughter? It didn't seem such a bad plan. This place looked extravagant and Lucilla knew she needed to stop wondering around and settle down somewhere for a while, reestablish herself in this time.
The old woman's mind was clearly going though, so it would be easy to place herself into this life and if the real gran daughter showed up... well, Lucilla knew what to do about that. Lucille quickly changed her name to Evelyn and took up the lief and mantle of an proper English elite. It wasn't so far from what she once was... so utterly long ago that she often forgot about it. It was a few years until she could convince the old woman to sigh her will over to her while on her death bed. Was it cruel to do such a thing? Yes. To cut out all her family to give everything to her? Certainly so. But Evelyn needed it, earned it even.
From then on, she was an odd noble woman, sleeping during the day and awake at the night. It wasn't widely known, but to her servants it was strange. Some of her servants either vanished or were very lethargic, Lady Evelyn claimed that they had 'The Sickness' and were sent away. Over the years,s he learned to feed on them properly, just a little at a time all the while through the guise of sex parties and orgies. She rarely showed herself outside her estates and her entire household was renewed with fresh maids and servants at least 4 times, and she herself had handed down the Estates at least as many times. Each one didn't marry but 'adopted orphan children' to raise as heirs. It became known as the Kind Hermit House and many orphans hoped to get adopted there, even though no child was ever actually adopted.
When it was time to pass on her estates to a younger generation, i.e. her in a different persona, Evelyn signed her will off to her 'granddaughter' as she pretended to lay dying behind a thick gauzy curtain on her 'death bed'. Her new persona was the nearly appointed Lady Victoria Marie, Lady Evelyn's granddaughter from a small town on the outskirts of England. It was 1885 and everyone who had known her was now dead and gone by a generation, and that one was dying out as well.
Her comfortable life changed when a stranger showed up on her door one night in the early 1900's, claiming to be lost and needed shelter for the night and seeing as this was the House of Kindness, he wondered if he could beg of The Lady of the House for supper and a nights rest. While Victoria was wary of anyone who come to her house at all, her servants were bribed and they let him in against her orders. This man explored her home to find her no where in sight, he eventually stumbled upon a secret entrance behind a book case in the study and followed it down, weapon at the ready.
The spiral stair case led down to a secret basement where Victoria kept her 'naughty' servants whom she usually fed on for punishment, and some for a sexual high. He drew a pistol on her and fired causing screams from everyone. Having missed his shot, Victoria hurled him into a wall where he fell to the floor limply, unconscious but surely insured from the force of her throw. Victoria moved closer to him and inspected his apparel for clued to who he was ans how he got there, not to mention how he knew about her secret room.
It all became very clear that he was a Hunter of monsters from his journal. His name was Pietro Beretta, a hunter of monsters from the wealthy gun manufacturing family of the same surname. When he awoke, he was tied to a chair in the basement with Victoria waiting for his answers. She interrogated him and after a few smacks he gave in some simple information. She was a monster, killing humans, and he was a from a family of Hunters and he had heard about this 'eternal' house of beauty and kindness, but was closed during the day. He explained that it just screamed vampire to him.
Victoria was distraught that she wasn't as clever as she thought she was and decided to sail someplace where no one had veer heard of her, America. She kept Pietro's journal, weapons, and items, leaving him with only some of his money -enough to get back to Italy- and let him go with a warning that if he didn't stop hunting, she would personally find him and end him in the worst way possible, through his children, effectively ending that bloodline entirely.
By the end of the week all her things where on a private boat and her house was burned down as she set sail for America to start over as an American citizen in the 'roaring 20's'. Victoria changed her name to Vivien Lee, and with enough money their way, became an American citizen, a few years into her stay, she fell in with a local nest of vampires in a speakeasy where she ratified their behavior due to her age and new wisdom about Hunters. Their once dangerous practiced were thrown out as she convinced the leader for the nest to be more careful with their choices of feeding victims, and that they could keep them around longer if they weren't so harsh with them. From then on, the nest of vampires in southern Louisiana was all hers.
In 1991, a hunter showed up in town by the name of Winchester from rumors that there were actual vampires there. In a stroke of genius, playing off the vampire craze there, they walked the streets at night and pretended to be fake Dracula-like vampires to fool the hunter as they picked up their food for the next few weeks. It may have fooled him, but another hunter came through a few years later after one of the nest's vampires took a politicians daughter on accident and killed her when she tried to escape. This one was bald, tall, and mean looking. Later on, she found out that this was Samuel Campbell. It struck a cord with her and she decided to leave that nest of vampires to go back on her own again since they were starting to seriously ******** up her rules, and thus her own survival.
In 2001, she wound up in California in her travels, staying there a year before moving on across the state, by night of course, staying in Seattle for 2 years before heading back down to Las Vegas where Vivien took up the role of a Marilyn Monroe look-alike for 4 years before spotting actual demons torture a small nest of vampires, Vivien hightailed it out of Las Vegas in a big big hurry. She decided that she would go visit some of the Colonies, eventually winding up going from Maine down along the shore line to present day (2014) southwestern Virginia, a place curiously called 'Mystic Falls'.
