Mekaisto had been in these lands known as the Kawanii for a month or so now, he had some good encounters and some disappointing, but all the while he continued to search for his brother. He knew he was somewhere in these lands, but this place so much vaster then he had anticipated with many different terrains. He had heard word days before of one that looked similar to him across the forest and towards the mountains, but so far he hadn't made it all the way through the forest.

It had come to be mid-day and he grew weary and wondered if he would ever find his brother, he obviously didn't want to be found but he couldn't leave it at that. He still felt he could help his brother if given the chance. He soon found himself upon a stream, it seemed like a good place to rest for a moment before continuing on towards the mountains. He sighed as he lowered his head to the stream to drink and fund himself staring at his rippled reflection. "Oh brother, why did you leave. Where did you go?", he spoke to himself before finally taking a drink. He decided to lay by the stream to rest his legs and after he would work his way and fly to see his positioning from his desired destination. Soon, however, he drifted off not realizing how tired he actually was and dreamed of his foal-hood and his brother.

User ImageĈiela was out looking for food. She was a strong flyer and had traveled a ways from the mountain valley that was the herd's home. But this forest had some nearly ripe berries last time she had flown over. They should be ready for harvest now. And her claws made gathering berries much easier for her than some of the other gatherers.

Caught up in her task, Ĉiela didn't pay much attention to the sounds of movement near the stream. She knew the canopy overhead was thick enough to hide her from another flyer, the bushes dense enough to conceal her from other view, and her claws offered good protection against skinwalkers or others likely to attack her. But the wistful voice that the wind carried to her ears pulled on her curiosity.

Of course, she had a job to do. So Ĉiela finished gathering the last of the berries and wrapping them in the cloth for transport before heading towards where she had heard the words. Likely the one who had spoken would be gone, but she couldn't leave without checking.

No, not gone, sleeping. Open to the sky and the surrounding grounds. There was no protection, no concealment, and no awareness. It took her a moment to even notice more than that a soquili was taking a dangerous nap. Her mother had been clear in teaching Ĉiela that Skinwalkers and other terrors lurked, ready to pounce unsuspecting idiots. Even if she had left her mother and the herd of her birth, Ĉiela still carried the caution she had been taught. She tried not to sleep except when she was in the herd lands, but if she had to, she tried to find a cave, or at least a concealing hedge.

Angry at the stupidity of the sleeping soquili, Ĉiela sighs and determines to protect the idiot from what she can only hope is temporary insanity.

As she settles to watch, Ĉiela starts to notice things about the other. He was a stallion, a stallion with the same clawed feet that she had. His tail was such lovely plumage. His wings seemed . . . more delicate than her own, and a mane of hair instead of feathers adorned his head. He was hippogryph, but, like her, a mixed breed.

Watching him sleep, she allows her eyes to trace his form, to admire his markings. Shaking her head at herself, Ĉiela sighs, loudly. Hoping to keep herself from thinking any further than that first admiring, lingering gaze, she speaks, loudly. "Your missing brother likely won't find you in time if a skinwalker stumbled upon you sleeping. If you're going to sleep alone, at least find yourself a safe place to do so first. I don't imagine your family deserves to be left wondering where you've gone."

That was a bit more harsh than she had intended. But Ĉiela's heart was beating a bit quickly. He really was quite lovely. And that wasn't something she was going to think about.

He felt himself waking up, he had fallen asleep and he knew it wasn't the smartest thing but he had been traveling for so long. Wait....he heard someone but was it him still in the midst of dreaming? He suddenly jerked awake with a gasp jumping up only to bump into a very real soquili, she wasn't part of his dream. "Oh my goodness, Im so sorry. Are you hurt?", he said as he bowed his head and made himself steady. He finally raised his head seeing the one who woke him only to find one with feathers not too unlike his own but more on her head, but she had two claws as he did. He found himself staring at the beautiful mare but he soon regained himself. "Thank you for waking me, I had not intended to fall asleep, but Ive traveled for quite a while and long ways. It was foolish of me but I thank you for showing kindness to a stranger.", he said with a smile and a graceful bow.

Ĉiela moves away, shaking her head. Well, she had been the idiot who had gotten too close. She shrugs at his thanks. "It wasn't a big deal. Just . . . be careful. I don't know where you're heading, but I'm sure whoever is waiting for you would be happier if you got there in one piece."

Ĉiela wonders at herself. She did not usually fish for information like that. But she had to admit to hoping it was just a brother he was going to see. He was truly stunning standing up. His coloring so deep and vibrant, and was she staring?

Shaking her head Ĉiela mentally kicks herself and turns to go. "Well, ah, just try to find somewhere safe to sleep." Her face away from where he can see it she winces as she speaks the next part, knowing it's very forward. "My herd is just up in the mountain, if you're passing that way. You can rest there for the night."
