Raemos Medrol
Oblivionite Mage Adept

Adventures Done:
Marketplace x 2
Herb Hunting x 1

Quote:
A small shop in a busy part of the marketplace belongs to an enchanter. Word has it that he knows how to incorporate spells into armor, tomes, weapons, items... anything! Why you are here is up to you, but as you enter, you can practically smell the magic in the small but clean room. Over to one side you see what must be the enchanter himself. She is wearing long flowing robes with shimmering symbols embroidered along the edges. Her hair is long and straight, reaching down almost to the ground. As you enter she turns her beautiful face towards you and smiles.
"Ah, perhaps you can help me." She asks in a musical voice. "As you can see, one of my shelves has broken and I need it fixed. Preferably without magic so that it does not contaminate the items I will place upon it. But I do not have time to find a carpenter as I must finish enchanting some armor. The owner is paying for it to be done by noon! I have only a few hours and it will take all my time. Would you be willing to fix or find someone to fix it for me? For your troubles I will be willing to teach you how to enchant an item."

(you help cause why else are you doing this adventure?) Figure out how to fix it without magic. Build the shelf yourself or go find a carpenter to do it for you. If you hire someone else, the enchantress will pay them for you and you still get your payment

Raemos was getting used to the Tukyere market, now that he could go there often and had his own money to spend. He could almost ignore the unnerving eyeless stares of the Oblivionite hybrids. Almost.

Today, he was mostly just browsing - he didn't have to buy anything in particular. Being interested in enchanting, he found himself in the section of the market that had, through the years, become the magical center of the city.

It was a relaxing, refreshing walk. He'd been getting better at using his magic, both in spellcasting and in enchanting, thanks to the trainers at the guild and the sparring he had gotten to do. He was getting used to the dark magic that coiled serpentiously within him, coming to terms with how he could use it without succumbing to the evil it represented.

He leafed through a few tomes, but he couldn't really afford them, so he moved on. He didn't need a new wand - though there were some lovely examples in the stall - and he couldn't afford the intricate magical staves.

One day, though, he would. He shrugged and moved on, keeping it in mind for another time.

Then there were the enchantment materials, a variety of shapes and tones and scents. Inks of various kinds and he was tempted to pick up a few materials to experiment with. He decided against it, however - He had quite a few ingredients to play with already, and plenty of ink besides. Still, it gave him ideas.

Finally, he found himself in a services sector. Raemos had heard of a travelling enchanter in the marketplace who could enchant anything. He'd also heard that they weren't taking apprentices to train, which was more the point - Raemos liked to things himself when possible. Still, when he saw their tent and its distinctive brightly contrasted banner, he figured that, since he was here, he might as well take a look.

He entered to a rich and tingling smell of magic. He could feel it in the very air, washing over his skin like eerie lightning. "Hello?" he said. He still did not intend to buy anything, but calling out a greeting seemed to be the thing to do in a place as ethereal as this.

"Ah! Perhaps you can help me!" she was, clearly, a Dovaa/Orderite hybrid, and her voice was amazing - clear and musical like the ringing of bells... or perhaps crystals. The glow of the runes on her robes cut through the gloom of the tent, and Raemos felt himself blush. She was very pretty.
"Help... how?"
For your troubles I will be willing to teach you how to enchant an item." she said. Raemos's heart beat faster, and it was not entirely because of the beauty of the enchantress. To learn new recipes? To be able to enchant with more effects? It was something he could figure out via trial and error, but he knew that it would be better if he learned it from a teacher. He was not in the market for ready-made objects... but he was in the market for teaching.
"Of course," he said, bowing slightly, "I can mend it for you." She smiled at him, but he could see - with some disappointment - that she was already distracted, her mind back on her commission. Ah well.

Raemos inspected the shelf. He knew basic woodworking - fences and other wooden things would break on occasion on the ranch, and he had learned how to mend them. He searched for a hammer and nails, but couldn't find any. "Be right back." he said, unecessarily - she wasn't paying attention - before he went out into the market. Nails were not hard to find, hammers were slightly harder, but he managed to find them and bring them back in a reasonable amount of time. The money he spent was irrelevant - he would be, if she kept her promise - getting more than his monie's worth.

He got to work on the shelf, setting it up to be strong and to endure whatever the lady would do to it. It wasn't pretty, but it would be decent enough. He gave his handiwork a once over before he looked up at the enchantress - who was watching him with a lovely smile on her face.

"Thank you." she said, "What would you like me to teach you in exchange?"

Raemos had ideas on what sort of lessons he would like to be taught. Several, actually. All of which made him blush.

But, ahem. Recipes. For enchanting.

"I'd like to learn how to infuse an object with light magic." he said politely, trying - very hard - to keep his gaze from wandering. "If you could teach me?"

She laughed. "Of course!"

Raemos had a feeling that this would be very difficult. And that he would enjoy every minute of it.
