After the time since the tournament, Liira had been going back and forth, doing business and getting ready for the next phase. Her father had forced her out into the wilderness more and more often, and while she usually enjoyed being out on her own, she was feeling like it was becoming more of a chore than anything else. And now this.
Her father had sent her out to Tale to deliver some sailscale leathers this time, something they didn't usually deal with, but Tale was much too warm for furs. She had already unloaded her wares and the sale was finished. There was only the matter of finding someplace to put up for the night before she made the trudge back to Zena. She removed her jacket and tied it around her waist with disdain, already completely ready to be back in the snow in Zena.
This was near painful.

Tau scratched his chin, eyeing what he almost couldn't believe he was seeing across from him. He was just going through the motions of the market for his mother, but this was more important, he could see that already. It was that one girl from the tournament. He knew she would be back. Looking for him no doubt. And he would be happy to oblige.
"Hey there, Frigid. Came back for more I see." He winked and fanned a hand through his hair. He had grown up since their last encounter that was for sure. He had rank now. He was a lancer. And from the looks of it, she was still young and fresh and his for the taking.
He leaned against the tree nearby and propped himself up, waiting for her to fall for him like he knew she would.

Liira closed her eyes at the sound of the voice and flared her nostrils. Oh good. This would go well for sure, she could tell.
She crossed her arms and sighed deeply, readying for what was to come next. She looked to her side through uninterested brows and huffed. "I see you didn't get enough the first time." She pulled her jacket off of her waist and let it fall to the floor, freeing her for movement. "Because I can probably kick your a** right here if you ask nicely." She waited to see if he would take the bite. Though she would hate to get sweaty, her loathing for this buffoon would make it worth it.
His smug face would meet the bottom of her boots nicely and then she could grind the stupid out of him. He was tall, that was for sure, he must have gone through a growth spurt, which was probably a good thing for him, since Liira could assume she had more power and fight in her pinky than he did in his body.

The sound of her voice was something else. It was just... full of pure loathing. Refreshing. "Whoa whoa there, Frigid. I'm not here for a fight. I wouldn't want to mar any part of your good looks." He held up his hands in surrender, his face light with amusement. He wouldn't give up that easy. "Maybe if you ask nicely I'll let you in on the many secrets that is Tau."
He relaxed and put an arm around her waist. "Feel free to swoon. I'm prepare for it." It was no small secret that Tau had grown into his body as he had gotten older. This last growth spurt was kind to him, and he was prepared for the flock of women that would be knocking down doors to get to him. Just the mere thought of it even put a smirk on his face.

Liira was almost too shocked to think that this idiot would put any sort of touch on her. Almost. She reached out and plowed a first right into the side of Tau's face. She might have been small, but she packed a punch. And it was enough to get his arm off of her and Tau to the dirt floor. For the added effect she made sure to put one of her boots to his side.
"Listen Idiot. Touch me again, and you won't have teeth. You got that?" She was near fuming now. Not only was Tale uncomfortable as is, but she must have pissed somebody off to have to deal with this a** hat again. She stretched and cracked her knuckles. "Call me Frigid one more time and you might not have a tongue either." She picked up her jacket and brushed it off, tying it to her waist once more before she started to walk away.

Before Tau could even process what had happened he was on the floor and his jaw hurt. And then came the blow to the stomach. He doubled over on the ground, the dirt already griming up his clothes and hair, it was as if she was trying to add insult to injury. Tau held back his whimper and grimaced through it. Once he was able to get control of the pain and sit up, she was already almost gone. "Hey. Wait." He choked out.
Rising to his feet, Tau tried to get in a couple steps before he was forced to hold his side. She was walking away and wasn't looking back from the looks of it, but Tau was determined. Call him a sucker for pain, but he wasn't about to stop now. Not when he actually had a real interest in Liira. It was like a challenge that needed to be won. He would get her to swoon for him, or at the very least be his friend. He half jogged, half limped to Liira's side. "You hit hard for a good looking lady in such a small package." Tau strode in front of her and forced her to stop. "Tell me your name and I'll stop calling you Frigid." He grinned to her, not even bothering to fix his hair yet.

Liira was almost in the clear when Tau came back. This guy just didn't know when to give up apparently.
Liira sighed and crossed her arms, her face turning bitter. "And why would I waste my time telling you anything?" He couldn't be serious. She had just beaten him up. Literally kicked him when he was down. How could he still want to talk to her? She put her hands up in the air in irritation. "You've really got to be kidding me."
She skirted around him and headed for a food shop not too far down the marketplace. She was starving and she would get away from this guy. She couldn't help but think of how ridiculous he looked all covered in dirt and the dust and leaves sticking to his ridiculous paint. With a final look back she could see he was still following her. Damn.
She stopped at the food stall and handed over some of the coins she was carrying for something that resembled a wrap of some sort with what she could only guess was kinfa meat inside. She sniffed it and crinkled her nose before taking a tentative bite. If he was going to follow her the whole day then so be it. Mmm, the wrap - whatever it was - was good. She would try to make this at home later.

Tau craned his neck over his shoulder, watching her go. Well, he didn't have much else to do today and by the look of it, she was heading to food. He turned and started to follow, trying to catch up though she was now purposely moving faster. She exchanged coins and right behind her was Tau, ready and waiting to get whatever it was she was getting. He gave the man the coins and grabbed the wrap. "Good, right?"
There wasn't anywhere to sit down in the marketplace while eating, so Tau just stood there, wondering where she was going next before taking a bite himself. He felt something wet hit his skin and when he looked up, it was starting to rain. "Oh. This might not be good." It was the time for near monsoon rains in Tale, something that only happened for one, maybe two months if they were lucky, out of the year. It was a time where everyone set out barrels to collect rainwater and they could taste the clear, refreshing taste of real water rather than the sweet water from the bulbs of the plants. Regardless of what a happy time it was for Tale after it stopped, it was still not something to get caught up in.
Before he could take another bite of his wrap it was already coming down in sheets. Did this girl - who would not give her name he would add - have a place to go? She didn't very well look like it. "You should come with me." He yelled out over the rain.

Liira pushed food into her mouth, trying to remain full so she could just not talk to Tau and quite possibly just ignore him until he went away. She was already halfway through her wrap when she felt the first big drop on her face. What...? She looked up; rain wasn't something she ran into a lot on her travels. Within seconds it turned into a downpour and she was soaked to the bone. With disgust in her face she looked down at her wet body and back up to Tau. He was saying something about following him.
As much as she wanted to just tell him where to put his suggestions, she had no place to go. She wasn't planning on this. She grumbled something and tossed her wrap. It was no good anymore. She eyed him with anger and trudged off in whatever direction he was aiming for.

Tau was shocked that she was so willing to come along, but hey - whatever, it worked out in his favor, right? He followed her lead and got rid of his wrap before turning on his heels and running the opposite way. He didn't like the rain. He could feel his paint already running down his face. Great. He huffed and only stopped once he had reached his own porch. Once out of the rain, he shook himself off and started to ring out his hair. "Seems like you're melting a little to me, Frigid." He winked. He knew he was pushing his luck with this, but she wouldn't give him her name, so what was he supposed to do?
Once his hair was partially wrung out he motioned for her. "You can hang out here or come inside, doesn't make one difference to me, but I'm going to get you a towel, so follow or don't." He shrugged his shoulders and entered the house.

She was grumbling and growling the whole way to wherever it was Tau was leading her to, but she was at least happy that she had dropped off her leather before this rain hit. Not her problem anymore, that was for sure.
When they stopped it was under the porch of some small house, not the large porch of some community building and she sighed. Of course he would take her to his house. He probably couldn't have planned it better himself. She grimaced and watched as the buffoon wrung out his hair. He opened his mouth and in that one second earned himself darts from her eyes. She would have to make good on her word to remove his teeth later. "Liira. Now shut up about it." She stood where she was, dripping and growling before she could even make up her mind. She might as well follow him in. The rain didn't seem like it was going to let up anytime soon. "Fine..." She closed the door behind her, but stood in the entryway. She wasn't going any further until she was dried up some.

Tau raised an eyebrow at her standing in the doorway. Was she just going to stand there all day? Her jacket was leaking though... Tau disappeared into the back of the house and came back with two towels. "You look like you could use both of these, but I think I'm going to keep one for me." He smirked and passed her one.
He used part of the towel to finish wiping off his paints before he just dabbed at the rest of his body. At least he felt better. "This will probably let up soon."

Liira accepted the towel with a snatch of her hand and a scowl on her face. "Ha ha. Funny guy." She pinched her jacket between her fingers and unwrapped it from her waist, pushing it through the door and onto the porch outside. She shrugged at Tau's answer than it would soon stop.
She used the towel to get at her hair and face, watching Tau take off his ridiculous paint. "Thank Bergchi you took that mess off. You looked ridiculous." She let the towel drape over her head and looked around the house. "You got anything to eat here? Sad to say I didn't get to finish my wrap." She pulled of her boots and made herself comfortable at the kitchen table. Might as well relax while she was stuck with the buffoon.

Tau was stunned into silence with Liira's attitude. She just made herself comfortable as if it were her own house. He crossed his arms after throwing the towel into a corner and stared her down. "What do you think you're doing?" He complained. She was till wet.
He frowned and sighed with slight irritation. "Yeah, we 'got' things to eat here." He mocked. He pushed at the chair she was sitting in, letting it tip and rock before he searched the cabinets for anything to eat.

Liira shrugged her shoulders when Tau asked what she was doing. He knew perfectly well what it looked like she was doing. She didn't like being mocked, but it was only until the rain let up so she was more than happy to just deal with it until then.
Tau rocked her chair and she had to flail to keep it from tipping over. She had that moment of panic feeling before she was able to steady it. She nearly growled at Tau for doing it and crossed her arms, huffing and puffing where she sat. "You don't seem to have decent guest manners." Her mother had taught her better than that when she was growing up. "Well, what do you have to eat? Do you even cook?" She pushed. Tau had better have some answers soon before she lost her patience with him.
