Personality
Overall Personality: When Kaoru's by himself he stays relatively sensible, and calm - when Hikaru's by himself he is annoying and thoughtless. Together, they tend to be mischievous troublemakers, generally enthusiastic and often fickle.
Likes: Picking on people (those they deem 'pure' types are off-limits to them, with the exception of Tamaki), games, pranks, interesting people
Dislikes: Anyone who hurts one of their fellow hosts (other than themselves or their fellow hosts), boredom
Strengths: Very close to each other, can be protective of fellow club members
Weaknesses: Sometimes immature/childish (more likely to happen with Hikaru), can get possessive of their fellow club members (again more likely to happen with Hikaru; and most likely they'll do so with Haruhi)
Fears: No one ever being able to tell them apart, losing what they've gained from being in the Host Club
Strange Gestures and Obsessions: Their twincest act. Speaking in unison. Embarrassing/outdoing/teasing Tamaki. Finding out more about Haruhi and/or commoner life (though the latter, not as much as Tamaki).
Social Life
Family History: Kazuha Hitachiin is their grandmother. She is known to be a free-spirit and well-known floral designer who decorates her hair peculiarly with flowers, earning the twins' ridicule. The twins live with their mother, Yuzuha, a fashion designer of her own company, and their considerably meek father, a computer software designer. The twins get their savvy fashion sense, appearance and personality from their mother (though they once jokingly mentioned that they fear for their future, due to their inherited shyness from their father). Their father runs a computer software company. He appears to be a more down-to-earth person than his spouse and sons and is often hidden in the shadows, appearing invisible to everyone else around him (including his family).
Personal History: When they were younger, the twins had a maid they were fond of, who they offered to give the code to the family safe to if she played their game and could tell them apart. She ended up breaking her promise to play and left them, but before she did so they learned skills from her, such as how to fake emotions. Since that time, they only trusted each other, making things hard for anyone trying to get close to them with the "Which one is Hikaru" game. Tamaki Suoh eventually wore them down and got them to join the Host Club, which opened them up to new experiences. They have since started to become more independent and have formed bonds with their fellow hosts.
Hobbies: Teasing/annoying Tamaki, assisting their mother with fashion stuff, anything that catches their fancy at the moment until they get bored
Special Skills: Causing trouble, fashion design, switching from devious to helpful/'innocent' on a whim
Primary School, Middle School, and Extra-School Activities: The Host Club is their main extra-curricular activity, other than helping out their mother whenever needed.
