Mintaka wouldn't fancy herself to be uptight about schedules and rituals. But when one had been patrolling and returning home for final studying and even attending a senshi bootcamp, one had to remember to pay homage to her original goal or lifestyle.

As such, The origami senshi had a small foldable table set up on a random rooftop of Destiny city. It was a nice night, the air warm and heavy with the scent of incoming spring blossoms. Stars and moon provided enough light that she really only lit the tiny tea candle on her table out of habit.

Two cups were settled down nicely, along with a full brewed tea pot, oddly with chilled blueberry hibiscus tea. It wasn't a night for hot tea. She drank from one of the teacups on her side, crossing her leg as she took a seat on a makeshift seat of the roof's building. Of course it wasn't the comfiest but she was a lady. And a proper lady didn't complain.

She took a sip of her tea and waited for any guest, of any faction to join her.

The order signature had been stationary for a long time. Long enough that Megiddo started to fret that the source was injured and slowly fading, and she owed it to herself to go investigate. Fearing the worst, the squire bounded up to the roof, not sure what she'd do once she got there. Calling for backup with a signet ring was not exactly speedy...

What she found instead was something of a relief, if a very confusing one. Landing, Megiddo furrowed her brow as she surveyed the scene before her. "Good evening," she said to the white-haired senshi. "Is this, um - are you waiting for someone?"

A tea party, she thought. Really. Really?!

Gunn would either laugh her a** off or shake her head in dismay when Megiddo told her about this. Maybe both."Should I just be on my way?"

Mintaka blinked as she felt a order aura approaching. She had forgotten that her side even existed most of the time, seeing as she met only a handful compared to the chaos side she had met.

She sipped her tea carefully as the signature joined her, in the form of young female. But not a senshi, she could pride herself on the fact that she could distinguish the senshi now from others. They all had certain well...uniformed attire. Much like Negaverse and not at the same time.

A female knight, how utterly fascinating.

"I am waiting for no one." Mintaka smiled at the girl, waving her hand to the seat. "Save for the next person to find me. Would you like some tea? It's a warm night and I've got some chilled blueberry tea if you want...."

She sipped again, "I've never met a female knight before. Nysa, and Celsus and Lemuria are all...well males, I just assumed knights were a male based faction..." Oh she wondered if there was male senshi. Probably. Dark mirror court had male senshi..."I'm Mintaka, Senshi of Origami."

"Oh," said Megiddo, and she quickly scanned the area for chaos signatures, hoping this was not some trap laid by an allied senshi on the eve of her corruption. Finding nothing amiss, she took a seat at the table and accepted a teacup with her daintily-gloved hands. "Thank you," she said, staring at the tea. It was very purple. She bet it would stain her lips.

So, like, this was weird.

"Megiddo Squire of Saturn," she replied, and tried to recall who she'd met on Mars: had it been evenly mixed? Perhaps it had skewed female, even, and yet most of the knights she could recall by name were men. Well, there was Lyngvi. "We're an equal-opportunity band of crime fighters," she added.

The senshi's name sounded familiar, and Megiddo's hesitancy was replaced with a genuine smile as soon as she managed to place her. "You came to boot camp, didn't you?" she asked. "I'm Sailor Gunn's intern. I was working the sign-up table. How did you like it? You know, we're having another one this month. Will you be there?"

"A pleasure to meet you Megiddo." Mintaka sipped at her tea again, smiling at the knight. "I'm beginning to learn that, though it's rude of me to assume that certain titles would have only certain genders. Too new and not enough information for me to go on." She reached over to take a small biscuit cookie neatly placed in the middle of the table as well and took a small bite.

"Boot camp!" Mintaka nodded her head, setting her teacup down as to not slosh it and shook her cookie at the knight. "It was the hardest thing I've ever done in my civilian life." She made a dramatic motion. "I'm not sure who Sailor Gunn is, In fact I'm very terrible with names and only remember my partner to be honest. A delightful strong silent type that one."

She thought about it though..."I liked it, I liked knowing other senshi were there. Senshi and knights. It's nice to see that we do have order meetings. Refreshing." She gnawed on her cheek. "I'm not sure about this month, finals are coming up and I've been up late studying or patrolling. I had hope to return as to prove myself a least a little more physically adept but well..." Mintaka flashed a small smile, "I seem to get by better with my words. What's it like to be a Senshi's intern? I would think you'd be like Nysa and be looking for your...princess? Saturn's princess? or Prince if that's what Saturn has."

Megiddo was momentarily confused - how could anyone forget Gunn?! She was stunning. And it wasn't like Kaatje hadn't advertised her identity - but there had been a lot going on that day and she supposed she could forgive Mintaka for being forgetful. "Sailor Gunn was the redhead running the whole event," she said, and shook her head.

"No one's ever said anything to me about Saturn having a princess," she said. Granted, the only other Saturn knight she'd met thus far was Ys, but spastic as he was she was certain he would have said something to her. "Or a prince. And at any rate I'm not looking for her. I follow Sailor Gunn."

She was Megiddo's alpha and omega, her beginning and her end. Should Gunn say jump, Megiddo would say how high? and if the answer were out a window, well.

Megiddo would do it. Her glorious leader surely had a plan involving auto-defenestration.

She reached for a cookie. "Thanks for the snack," she said. "I think this month's meetup's going to run a bit differently, but Gunn hasn't given me the details yet. Stop by if you can, okay?" And then, trying to make small talk, she asked, "What do you think the hardest thing you've done as a senshi has been?"

"The redhead?" Mintaka tried her hardest to put a name to the face but in all honesty, she had been shy and awkward, barely getting through her excersies with her partner. OH! Then it clicked. The one who had been leading it.

"She was really pretty." Mintaka leaned in as Megiddo started talking about her planet. "I see! So just because you are aligned to a planet, you are free to choose your loyalities to other senshi? Such a fascinating concept!" She took another bite, chewing thoughtfully as the idea matured in her head.

"No trouble, patrolling and youma hunting is tiring. A snack and break help out a lot." She blinked. "The hardest thing for me?" She casually focused on that instead of promising the girl something she couldn't do quite yet.

"Fighting. Otherwise, I've been pretty lucky to meet Chaos members who are more willing to chat and learn from me, as well as teach me about themselves." She dusted the crumbs off her skirt. "I've earned a few punches to the face but they've been smoothed over pretty quickly."

"She's beautiful," Megiddo agreed, but all of Gunn's admirers could get in line. She was leading this fan club, and even if her affections were momentarily focused on Penthesilea, the eternal senshi of Wildfires was still number one in Megiddo's heart. "You should see her as a senshi. She's stunning."

Megiddo crunched into the cookie she'd taken, and used having her mouth full as an opportunity to compose her answer. "All this Saturn stuff is past life hocus pocus," she said, which was not really as eloquent as she should have managed to be. "I can make alliances with whoever I please. If Sailor Saturn exists, I've never seen her and she's never done anything for me." Gunn, on the other hand, had done lots for Megiddo. She'd given her a purpose where she had none. She'd taken her from silly child into polished huntress.

At hearing that Mintaka had been making nice with Negaversers, the squire nearly did a spit-take. Swallowing roughly, she objected, "You're not supposed to be learning from them." It was like, a ******** meme, or whatever. Sterling Archer's face and the caption, Do you want to be corrupted? Because that's how you get corrupted. "Do you not understand the concept of war."

Gunn, she decided, needed to have another round with this senshi. Because she was doing dumb s**t instead of her job.

"You're supposed to fight Chaos," she said. "You're supposed to kill them. Because when you don't kill them, they kill civilians, and that's bad for obvious reasons."

Tea parties in the middle of the night, she could chalk up to eccentricity. Going soft on the enemy? Not so much.

Mintaka wondered perhaps that Megiddo might have much more of a fancy of Gunn then she originally thought. It didn't bother her, obviously, it was just curious to learn how others looked to each other. "Perhaps one day I will. The last Senshi I saw that I thought was gorgeous was Flora, senshi of spring? I learned about her court as well." Which was funny considering all these loops of courts and what not.

The squire startled her with her objections, causing Mintaka to almost fumble her tea. Instead she set it nicely on the table and folded her hands politely in her lap.

"It depends on how you look at war." She cocked her head, "this isn't MY war. I am not obligated, just because I am from the order side, to fight....nor to take life. I will defend myself if I must, but it's foolish to assume that everything is solved with violence." She cocked her head.

"What do you understand of the negaverse? of the chaos? We believe it to be evil, because someone else tells us it is. Neither side has good or bad, we are just fighting for different causes."

She reached over and took her tea and sipped it again. "Killing in general is bad. We are no better then the ones who do kill if we continue it's practices." She thought of Chariklo, whose friend had been severely damaged. To Zinkenite and his stories of the past white court. It could be ploys to have her corrupt...or it could be truth that she had to live with. "I'd rather have allies from all sides. My goal is not to fight, but to learn. And I learn more talking with everyone then I would instigating fights from them."

Gritting her teeth, Megiddo set her tea down as well. That was negaverse propaganda talking if she'd ever heard it, coupled with a dose of optimism and naïveté that needed to be extinguished, and the sooner, the better. "Chaos is evil, though," she said. "I've seen them murder civilians without a second thought. They steal energy. They prey on people who can't defend themselves. What part of that sounds good?"

"Destroying chaos isn't bad," she said indignantly. "It is wiping out a blight that holds the whole universe in its clutches." Megiddo hadn't absorbed much from her time on Olympus, but she understood the direness of their fight well enough - and she had no patience for those who would try to fraternize with the enemy.

She stood from the table. This, Megiddo appraised, was a waste of time. "So you'd rather just let them continue to kill?" she asked. "There is no compromise that can be struck with Chaos. No negotiation. They are all or nothing, and one day, if you do not fight back, they will either kill you, or they will make you join them, and they will steal everything you ever were from you."

Avalon had been a knight once, she remembered. Avalon had been a knight.

"One chaos operative killed is a hundred civilians saved," she said, clenching her shaking hands. "That's math. You would rather make friends with them? Learn from them?" Stupid, she thought. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Mintaka listened, because she listened to everyone. She absorbed what Megiddo said, because that's how she worked. She listened and learned. From either side, she would listen and learn.

"To quote a famous author, 'They say there is no light without dark, no good without evil, no male without female, no right without wrong. That nothing can exist if it's direct opposite does not also exist.' " Mintaka played with the handle of her cup. "I do not disagree with you, but I do not agree with you. There is no way to infintely beat chaos, it can not be consumed with order. Just as there is no way to beat order, and be consumed by chaos. There is ebbs and flows where one side might be stronger, but not for long." Mintaka looked up at Megiddo.

"I do not thinking killing is my answer. It is for you, it is for some of the negaverse. Killing is a nesscary evil, that both sides try to justify. I know I am naive..." She gritted her teeth a bit, "But I do not follow other senshi because they tell me what is right." She looked away now, down to the streets of destiny city. "I do not follow Moon queen Serenity because she tells me too."

"You asked me before what I thought was the hardest part of being a Senshi. The hardest part is being drawn into a war that I do not want to be part of. A war that was started before my birth. My ideal is to learn from my past, not repeat it."

Megiddo rolled her eyes. Pretentious, pacifistic bullshit, she thought indignantly. "It's real easy for Chaos to overwhelm Order. They've done it before, and they will do it again if we don't all grow spines, stop trying to sing kumbaya and build daisy chains with the ******** enemy, and fight back," she said. Maybe she wasn't going to get through to Mintaka tonight - but she could sure as hell report back to Gunn about her foolhardy behavior.

"I hope your pacifism works out for you really well," continued Megiddo. "I hope that everyone is nice and you sit around the fire and make s'mores and gossip about boys. And when you're ready to come back from Girl Scout camp and do your job, Gunn and I will be waiting."

She thought about breaking the teacup, but that just seemed too cruel.

"This is not dollies, this is not a kindergarten, and I assure you that Ares and Leto and Zinkenite and Avalon do not want to learn from you. They don't want to be friends with you. They want to kill you. And I hope for your sake that they're not successful, but at this rate, who knows!"

Ugh, she thought, picking up her pitcher. "Night-night, sweetheart," she said. "I don't think we've got anything else to discuss."

She spun on her heels, and began to head off into the night.

Conflicting philosophies, go! We can wrap this, but I figured I'd leave you a chance for Mintaka to go after Megiddo if you want.

Mintaka just cocked her head as Megiddo took off. She wasn't much of a follower, and she respected the girl's...well...she respected Megiddo's sense of justice, but not the path she took about it. That was fine, Mintaka had to remind herself. It was fine, not to see eye to eye.

Not everyone would. She had desperately wished though, that maybe someone of order would see like she did. And she hoped that by chatting with Megiddo didn't make her an outcast to the white court.

"I wouldn't be so sure..." She knew only of one negaverser in that bunch, and already Zinkenite had interested her in the way of trading information with each other. And she hoped too, that perhaps he could be an ally or friend. But it was all up to her and how she handled herself.

"Have a good night Megiddo." Mintaka reached over to her cup of tea, hand a bit shaky and raised it to her lips, looking away from the knight now. "Safe journey to you."

She hoped...she hoped not all encounters with order were like this. But it gave her an opening of just how intricate the hate lay beneath, and what was soon to come forth.

Silverah
CONFLICTING PERSONALITIES AND IDEALS GO ahaha Nah Mintaka won't follow her, she respects Megiddo's space and is not going to further upset her. I'd say this is a wrap?
