Kaimu was having so much fun! He loved being in his new pride with his family and a bunch of animals he could call friend. All he wanted to do was run around and meet the other members of the pride, though he new he needed to be careful his eagerness didn't get the better of him. Not everyone was as happy to meet someone new as he was, and he had learned more than once that having a bright, out going personality could actually land him in trouble. Still, that was the rogue lands. Surely it was different in a pride, right? He bounced along the grass, humming brightly and roaming for the simple fun of meeting someone new. He knew it might be dangerous, but how could he not? This was his home! He had to know EVERYONE. Painted Moose Also: firekin breeding is approved! Do you want to send me the info?

Fatimah was in a rut. She hadn't been able to keep up with her roommates change of lifestyle. One minute she had a friend, someone to share late night chats with, and a denmate to keep her den warm. Then Calypso up and got mated. Who did that?! She kicked at a pebble in her path. Well, she could be happy for the lioness, IF said lioness had even bothered talking to her about all of this first.
Mating. Bah! Who needed it! Just made you gooey eyed, and stupid. Fatimah scrunched up her nose and snorted.
So wrapped up was she in her mental berating of her EX-denmate that she didn't notice the overtly chipper male until he was nearly too close to be out of sight. There was no hope of dodging him now, but maybe he hadn't seen her....Fatimah blended in a little better than he, and she hoped that would be to her advantage.Cajanic Aww yeah! 8D Yeah, sure, send over his info and I'll get them posted up once I get her rps all squared away.

Kaimu had been wrapped up in the idea of getting to meet someone new, but he hadn't been so blinded by his thoughts that he missed the lioness ahead of him. Almost, but not quite. He came to a stop when he saw her, grinning from ear to ear a moment before slowly taking a few steps in her direction. He had to remember: not everyone liked a super perky lion. He needed to pay attention to the signs. And the signs were saying that she wasn't in a very good mood. it looked like she was actually pretty upset. It made him concerned. "Hello!" he offered, trying not to sound like he was ready to burst from excitement, "Um, are you okay? You look a little... I mean! I'm sorry! I'm not trying to interrupt or anything..." Well. This was going swimmingly.

Oh Mkodi, he'd spotted her! Now she was truly doomed, but she'd be damned if there wasn't something charming and slightly unnerving about that smile. It put Fatimah off her game.
"Hello..." She curled her lip, giving him a look that read please leave. Fatimah sighed, or rather huffed, and approached him in a slightly aggressive manner. Though, with her short height, she looked more like a peeved cub. "No I am not 'okay'." Fatimah snapped. "You wanna know why? Because people like you keep asking me if I'm 'okay'!" She stomped her paws on the ground, her pale blonde mane covering one of her eyes, leaving the other to stare at him."I'm not okay because the one lion in this pride that gives two shits about me is goo goo eyed over some male. Does that sound like I'm 'okay' to you?"

Well, she didn't seem thrilled to see him, but so far his limbs remained a part of his body, so that was probably a good sign, right? Right? And he hadn't heard any recent rumors of a pride member going around horribly maiming other lions, so he was probably going to live. Probably. "Oh... so.... I guess I shouldn't have come over," Kaimu stated awkwardly, then offered her another smile, "but I'm here now! And... I'm sorry about asking you if you were okay... and I'm sorry you're not okay!" He sat himself down. "Um. So... your friend got a mate and you're feeling left out? I know how that feels! My friend before I came here fell in love with someone else and told me to leave... I hope it wasn't because I asked her if she was okay that day." His ears flattened, his expression thoughtful. "But if she's still around, shouldn't you talk to her about it? Just so she knows what's going on?"

Oooh, she could probably rip Priderock from the ground, if her anger gave her that much strength. Well, maybe it wasn't anger...just a mild aggravation, but it seemed like so much more!
She narrowed her eyes, and very openly rolled her eyes. "Yes, yes you are here. And stop apologizing for stuff you didn't do. It's weird." Fatimah quirked her nose. He wasn't doing anything wrong; just came in a really bad time. She might had even tolerated him on a good day, but this guy was getting under her skin.
"Did you talk to your friend about it? I mean, if he told you to leave he couldn't have been a very good friend after all." Jeez, what kind of a friend just up and told their buddy to leave? At least she hadn't been given the boot. "Oh, she knows what's going on, and she told me I'm overreacting. That I needed to get out and find a mate of my own to get my mind off of it. But that isn't the point!"

Oop. He got yelled out for saying sorry too much. He had to keep himself from apologizing for that, too. Instead, Kaimu smiled. "We talked, but I think it was for the best I moved on." Hey, at least he had gotten her to ask about it- that was something, wasn't it? Proof to him that she wasn't as mean as she appeared to be, despite her best efforts. She wouldn't have wondered about it if she didn't care! "Well, maybe that is the point," he mused lightly "I mean, maybe a little bit. Maybe you don't really understand what she's feeling, and it makes you upset because it's like it's taking over what she thinks of you, when really its just something else alongside your friendship with her. Maybe if you had a mate, you would understand the difference, and know that she'd still be close with you, too!"

Fatimah snorted. For the best? He was ditched; how was that for the best? Poor guy. She caught herself and shook out the thought. There was no way she was going to start sympathizing with him now. He was a naive male to roll over like that and she...was apparently not much different.
Ugh.
"Huh?" She quirked up her maw and twisted her brows. "I don't like it, but you do sort of have a point..." Damn, if he wasn't making sense. "But the way you say it makes it seem like I can walk up to the King, hold out my paws and say, "One mate, please!" and he'll just give me one. It isn't that easy."
To find someone she trusted enough to actually open up to was a task that only a God could perform.
