This wasn't what I made this for..
********* puzzled in the HQ over the white mask between her fingers. She had crafted this device so she could create disguises on the fly. However, thanks to an odd little stone of unknown origins, the device now had a completely different function from what she had seen.
Though she had transformed into what seemed like a senshi, the Mauvian was quite certain it didn't quite function the way she was familiar with.
However, she couldn't puzzle over this by herself. She needed someone to take notes as she experimented with this new device.
That was where a certain Rex-furred companion came into the picture.
"....Theeeeeetiiiiisss... are you ready to get started with documenting this?" she asked as she glanced back towards her curly-haired teammate.

Thetis eyes looked upon ********* with a questionable expression. Apprehension lingered in his eyes, and his body language as ********* voice shifted uncomfortably. Neither of them knew what to expect, and so they had to find out just what all of this meant. One thing was for certain though: Anything could happen, and anything was bad.
Paws drummed against a notepad in front of him before he maneuvered to position a pen over top of it. He would take notes, and beautifully.
"Y-yes," he said, although he definitely sounded unsure.

Thetis was definitely not the picture of confidence or reassurance. However, ********* was daring enough for the both of them!
She still waved her mask in front of her nose as she verbally puzzled over issues.
"...so... first time I used this device... I did not use a henshin phrase... like how the senshi do... this first test is to see if that was a synchronization matter or if the device always is activated in such a simple manner!"
With that, she set her hat next to Thetis' workspace.
She backed up, twirled on her toes for a full 360 degrees, then placed the mask on the bridge of her nose. Her outfit seemed to glow briefly as different parts seemed to shift and a few stray ribbons seemed to sprout, tying themselves into bows in her pigtails. When the glowing faded, it seemed as if there was a true senshi standing before the rex-furred Mauvian.
"...this is soooo interesting..." She turned around again to inspect the back of her uniform, ears twitching wildly out of excitement. No henshin phrase at all, a clear sign that this senshi-like form was somewhat of a facade.

Thetis was wary but that's simply how he operated. He liked to know how things would go, and sitting in the unknown here was very uncomfortable for the guardian cat. What if something went wrong? What if everything fell on him? He didn't want to let anyone down! He tried to remain calm! If he couldn't remain calm before things even began then how would he ever get through it?
He sat back, pen in hands, he scribbled what she was saying in a form of short hand that they could later transcribe. It would be quicker, considering how difficult it was to write already. He enjoyed it through, and having less to write meant he could at least make the shorthand much more presentable than what it would be if he had to write a lot of long things.
He nodded his head, writing what she said down before watching her. Once again, she sat the hat beside him. Did that mean she wanted him to watch it for her, again? He questioned the meaning of this motion that she kept doing every time before the chance happened. Of course, the hat was towering over him. It was taunting him. The hat was bigger than him!
"You always put that hat beside me. Is that important?" He noted, scribbling down her efforts while he doodled a top hat in the margin with a question mark beside it.

The Mauvian Senshi brought a single finger to her chin and tapped at it a couple times and she seemed to think over the question Thetis asked.
"...hmmmmm... I do like my hat... it feels important to me... and even though logically I know it is going to vanish and reappear eventually, I still don't want to lose it. Maybe I am just possessive? I don't know!" She let out an easy laugh, before leaning forward to attempt checking Thetis' scribbles to see if he had finished his current notes.
"...now... let's see..." taking her finger, she tapped at the tiara upon her forehead.
"...seeing as I have this here now... I don't think I should be using any energy blasts... I am pretty sure it would be blocked..."
Spinning on the ball of her foot to face a different direction, the Mauvian senshi began to pace. "...in theory... one could guess that if this form doesn't need words to activate abilities... that any sort of magic also would follow a similar rule..." There was a pause before she seemed to confirm this with how senshi magic usually worked. "A senshi usually needs to call out their magic's name before it can get used..."
Spinning on the ball of her foot, she faced her feline companion. "...what do you think I would need to do to activate any sort of magical abilities for myself?"

A light blush quickly spread across Thetis' face as the thought that she was entrusting something she felt was so important to him really hit him. The first time she had turned into a Mauvian Senshi, she had placed that hat beside him for him to protect just prior to it and now she was once again leaving it by him. Embarrassed, and a little frustrated with the idea that he was embarrassed, he buried his head into his work.
"Do... do you think it would reflect back at you?" He asked ********* as he made a note in the observations about it, an obvious horror in his voice as he feared what might happen if she tried it.
He transcribed ********* theory as she considered the activation of abilities, wondering himself what would happen. He recalled the time they had all pitched in to help ********* build an item but that wouldn't really be considered an ability. He shifted his weight a bit, moving the pen around in his paws as he looked up high.
"Would there be one? You don't have one to 'henshin' up like senshi do so would it follow the same rules?"

"That is the question indeed!"
Spinning on the ball of her feet once more, she leaned backwards slightly to look at the dark furred Mauvian at an extremely awkward angle. "If I do not need a phrase, then how would I activate the magic... if there is magic to be activated. I might be an optimist in thinking that I could channel magic in this form!"
With a giggle, she spun in a circle so she was fully facing her companion again. "I guess that is part of the fun of all this!" Her ears twitched, as if reminding Thetis that this curiosity was natural for all Mauvians.
Squatting down a bit so she could be a bit closer to her partner in crime, she asked"...Do you think it might have something to do with positioning... or maybe concentrating on something to activate any abilities?"

Fun. It wasn't exactly the word Thetis would use to describe the idea of magic possibly deflecting and hitting them. Sure, the small guardian cat liked to imagine and create things but this was a whole other topic! This wasn't simply creating something, this was trying to get a reign on a power that could potentially hurt them! Or worse than that, turn his fur into one giant afro.
He put too much care into his fur to allow that to happen because of a magic catastrophe!
"Concentrating seems... likely," he said hesitantly. Most things in the magic world seemed to involve a lot of concentration so it seemed like a reasonable guess.

Instinct said that she should concentrate upon the star on her forehead, but logic reminded her that the star was covered up, so such a thing would be a terrible idea.
Standing herself up tall again, the false senshi nodded her head firmly. "Right! Phase 2 of testing begins! I will try concentrating on various points of my body to see if it causes any sort of reaction!"
Lifting up a leg, she pointed out her toes in front of her to stare at them.
"Commencing concentration!"
With a giggle and wriggle of her toes, she focused on her toes.
The results were not very evident if there were any results to be observed.
