*~::Thor's Coliseum::~*
[The Third Holy Grail War]
A massive, ancient-style coliseum built only recently on the backs of enslaved demons by the mighty Thor; battles were held here for his amusement and to prove toughness for some time, but in the spirit of the Grail War it has been cleared out to make an ideal meeting place for Servants who wish to do battle with one another in open combat. Thor himself may still be seen at the top of the Coliseum watching, but will not himself ever deign to participate in such a conflict.

"...I'm not simply a man who kills for no reason. It's because I have a reason that I kill. Because I wish for the Grail, I'll kill you. Because you threatened Kaori, I'll kill you..."

"I read you loud and clear, Kaori," the man called Deadly Nightshade spoke into his headset's microphone, the phone connecting him to his ally out in the city at large. The war was young, and so was the night around them. He listened intently for the words of his partner and spoke back to her in full confidence. No one else in the war was likely to have formed so strong an alliance as theirs already was. And with the power of their two servants...they had an advantage that nobody else in the competition could claim as their own. "Keep a sharp eye out for any other Masters. It's just like any other mission; we want to make sure that you see them before they see you." He took a breath...a twinge in his stomach made him ache, fingers unconsciously resting upon the hilt of his most prominent weapon, his sword...the other masters...there was no guarantee they wouldn't be trying to kill himself or Kaori. Could he resist the urge to do the same? His eyes closed...

Kaori Sakurazaka, the Wild Cherry Blossom of the Human Weapons Unit

User Image
The young woman nodded to herself the moment she listened to the voice coming from the little device on her ear. "Good... Everything is quiet for now around here..." she answered, standing on one of the upper steps, her crimson gaze scanning this side of the coliseum while her Servant stood close by, in search of newcomers. The War had just started after all...and she knew not many would get themselves into fights this early on. After all...knowledge of the enemy and strategy were more valuable than raw strength, she knew. Her gaze shifted to the man for an instant, her attention back to the conversation she was having with her companion. "How are things on your side?" Kaori knew her companion hadn't been completely satisfied with the decision they had taken... he worried about her, just as she worried about him. And like she had told him...she believed it would be better if he was the one staying hidden...to be the trump card later on...they had better chances of getting the upper hand that way.

This whole Holy Grail War... was it really worth the risk? "Kei..." she waited for an answer from the other side of the line before continuing, "Whatever happens... be careful." It went without saying, really, but still, the violet haired girl found she needed to...

"Heed my words!
My will creates body, and your sword creates my destiny!
If you heed the Grail's call, and obey my will and reason, then answer my Summoning!
Here I swear!
I shall become all the good in the world!
And I shall defeat all the evil in the world!
You, seven heroes clad in three words of power, come forth from the ring of deterrence!
O Guardian of the balance!"

Lightning struck the center of the ring, an explosion rocking the Coliseum as a mighty power entered into the field of battle. The entire Coliseum shook with the raging power of Zeus, and the crowd cheered at the appearance of one who would definitely claim victory in the battle to come. "At laaaaaaaaaaaast! Hahaha, finally! It seems you chose well master, because now your victory in this war is guaranteed!" The Servant stood tall, both hands resting on the pommel of his blade which stuck in the ground as he let out a hearty laugh. Even Thor would have been proud of the warrior who'd appeared in his Coliseum, and the strength rolling off of the King was immense, threatening to anyone who could feel the desires for victory that this greedy man had.

"Hear me, Servants of this Holy Grail War! I have come to Conquer you in battle, and will crush anyone who fails to submit! Come and serve me, and share in the plunder of a thousand nations, eat the fruits of numerous conquered countries! I am Iskandar, King of Conquerors, and I will face any foe who chooses to lay down their life before me! Ha ha ha!" There was no level of words for the brazenness on display, but there was no sense of hesitation in his eyes, no doubt to be found anywhere in the massive heart of the enormous figure! His muscles brimmed with power, his cape was moved only by the wind of his own arrival, lightning still crackled about as if the thunder god danced in joy at the return of his favorite son. A challenge had been issued, and only a coward would hear it and run away! Such beings were not worthy to stand before a Conqueror, let alone he who had been the King of countless powerful lands!

As Fujimatsu noticed the dramatic servant that had entered in, he laughed. The servant seemed a lot like how he himself was. Interested in the servant, he approached Iskandar with his servant nearby, slightly interested in Iskandar as well but for completely different reasons. As he had came up closer, Fujimatsu stared directly at Iskandar and exhaled, a black cloud of smog coming from his mouth though he was not smoking anything at all. "You happen to seem quite interesting and open, King Iskandar. You wouldn't mind a battle against me, would you?" Fujijimatsu said to Iskandar, his blade shrugged over his shoulder. His servant stood behind, silent and distant, yet observing the idioticy that his master was stating. But the servant kept it's hand on it's sword, just in case there was any threat coming to his master from Iskandar. "By the way, my name is Yatamatsu Fujikota, though you probably have heard of me as Yatamotsugu-Hirofujima." Fujimatsu said as he let out another puff of black smoke from his lips.

"Hmmm? No, I'm afraid not. Ha ha ha, well that's something. I thought I knew all warriors of great renown, so that must make you a nobody. Or perhaps you just haven't made your mark yet. Wuah ha ha!" Rider's laughter echoed throughout the stadium, but it was clear that he meant no ill will; he was simply stating facts as he knew them to be. Even though he sensed the presence of Fujimatsu's Servant, he showed no sign of hesitation or fear, instead grinning and placing his free hand on his hip while the other still rested on his blade, the proud stance of a King.

"I will gladly accept your challenge! But, boy, don't you realize that a Servant is many times stronger than an ordinary warrior? I think it would be better if you were to summon your Servant to battle me instead. That way I might enjoy our test of metal. Buah ha ha!" Iskandar even now showed no signs of backing away from the Master or his Servant, but while Fujimatsu had yet to bring his Servant out for all to see, Iskandar wasn't using the opportunity to attack and try to claim the lesser victory, either. He knew that the Servant must be quite mighty, and that would make for a glorious battle, one that was worthy of singing songs about. If he was going to claim victory, he was going to do it by winning people's hearts with an unflinching spirit, and Conquer not only the hearts but also the minds of the people. That was something worth letting the bards write about.

"Kaori, speak to me!" his words were uncharacteristically sharp, a concern within that could only be heard when matters concerning one Kaori Sakurazaka were in play. His eyes flitted back to the figure standing behind him as if searching for answers, but he found none in the Servant's face to satisfy him. He could only listen to the chaos through the communicator and hope that whatever storm had landed at the Coliseum was something within her realm of control to handle. He could only hope...and that was enough to frighten even the Deadly Nightshade, a man who was as a blade, honed to its very finest razor's edge. "Stay hidden and tell me what you see. Is it a Servant? And if so, do you see any Masters? Talk to me..."

"Well, well... yew sure are having quite a party here." a man up in the stands said, biting into a piece of meat as he watched the festivities below. "I wonder which of yew has any chance of coming on top here?" he laughed as he continued watching, quite content to simply enjoy the show while it lasted. Kings and conquerors or murders and madmen... in the end, it was all the same.

Before she could have any kind of answer, a loud explosion roared from the center of the arena, making the young woman to crouch and protect herself from any debris that could have flown in her direction, plus hiding her from the new presences that soon began to talk. The ground shook, and the violet-haired girl only narrowed her eyes as she observed the figure at the center of the Coliseum, asking for challenges. Her own Servant said nothing, but the expression on his face made it clear he didn't agree with the King of Conqueror's antics. Well, this wasn't exactly what she was expecting, but... at least the situation wasn't out of control...yet.

The frantic voice at the other side of the line made her snap away from her thoughts, her fingers pressing over the headset, to listen to Kei's voice more clearly. "I am fine," her voice finally answered in a hushed, low voice. "I apologize for not answering sooner..." he sounded worried, and really...if their roles had been inverted, she'd too be anxious. To just listen without knowing the situation was frustrating at the very least... "A Servant just showed up in the most pompous way possible...King Iskandar. No Master to be seen, though. Ah, wait-" Two more voices joined in and the Yamazakura let out a little breath, shifting slightly on her place behind one of the columns, to get to see who else had arrived. "Two Masters, it seem... they haven't summoned their Servants yet, though." Her fingers curled and uncurled...adrenaline tinging, reading her for whatever situation. "Kei... a fight will break out in here soon..."

"Heh, then I will show you that I am not all fluff against you, King Iskandar." Fujimatsu said as he began to spout foolhardy words against the servant, clearly showing that he would fight Iskandar. As Fujimatsu approached the servant, about to transform, Fujimatsu's servant then came out from behind and pulled out it's sword, still sheathed, and sent the hilt of the sword into the back of Fujimatsu's head, sending him directly into the ground."I apologize for my master's ignorance, Rider. As you had honorably revealed to everyone your own name, I feel obligated to tell you my own. I am Saber, and my name is Godfrey of Bouillon." Saber said as he then withdrew his sword from his hilt and held it infront of him. He seemed to not care much about his honorless and foolhardy master who would willingly fight a servant by himself. "So what is it, Rider, that brings you to here?"

"Ha, well I thought that that would be obvious. I was summoned right here, where you have found me. But if you want to know why I remain here...you'll have to answer my question." Rider grinned widely as the Servant made it's presence known. This was a man with a splendid aura, one who had achieved the rank of hero in his life, and was worthy of acting as a Heroic Spirit now in death. Just the type to stand before Iskandar, King of Conquerors, and provide a worthy challenge should the need arise. "Would you prefer the sword, or the drink?" Iskandar's offer was sudden, but he wasn't looking down on Godfrey at all. Instead, the look in his eyes was one of unflinching certainty, showing that there was no malediction behind his offer, no poisonous aftertaste to agreeing to his splendid offer.

"I have no interest in fighting the foes of this tournament one on one, or else I'll run myself ragged just getting to you all. But if you'd prefer to sit with me and have a drink until more challengers arrive, I'd be grateful. If you want to go test the others for me, I promise to battle the winner after they've fully recovered, as well. You cannot call yourself a Conqueror by merely seizing victory when your foes have been weakened. Ha ha!" The brazenness was self-evident. He'd ignored the rude filth nearby, and now he was already making plans for his next battle, before he'd even had a taste of his first. For a man who was suppose to be concealing himself and extending his chances in this war, the challenge seemed ludicrous; but for one who called himself King, acting dishonorably would have been nothing more than a fate worse than death. As a result, he would gladly spill ale or blood with the man who'd offered his name in return in equal measure, and would hold no ill will when they were done.

"You there, skulking in the shadows, do you plan to merely watch or have you lost your power of speech, hm?" It was no suggestion, but a command as Iskandar turned his head to look in the direction of Kaori. "Godfrey! What do you say? Join me, and we shall conquer together as King and subject! There is no greater splendor than serving beside a King, and I am Iskandar, mightiest Conqueror of them all!" A bold claim by anyone's standards.

Berserker

Moments after Iskander's invitation for entertainment, one of the walls simply blew inward as a shadowy figure shot into the arena on a motorcycle. Crackling black and red energy surrounded it, and even a blind Servant would probably have no trouble at all seeing that this was a complete madman. However, he wasn't there to barter or make friends. In less than a second, the shadowy figure pulled the trigger on two enormous rocket launchers that it had brought along, and the missiles simply exploded out of them, massive plumes of smoke showing their trail.

One of the missiles headed straight for Iskandar, the other for Godfrey, and both missiles were covered in the same black and red aura as the motorcycle as they shot through the air, homing in with far more accuracy than any missile should have had. But then, such was Berserker's power, and anyone who underestimated any of his attacks was in for a world of pain. His weapons could match blows with top-class Noble Phantasms, because that was precisely what his own weapons were. The launchers were tossed aside as soon as the missiles were launched, though and Berserker was already reaching for his next weapon...

"...I'm not simply a man who kills for no reason. It's because I have a reason that I kill. Because I wish for the Grail, I'll kill you. Because you threatened Kaori, I'll kill you..."

"Did you say Iskandar? You mean the King of Macedon, Alexander the Great?" his English was a bit rusty, but the most common name of that Heroic Spirit was the latter...the tension heightened to an almost insurmountable degree as the name passed his ears. No was no way, absolutely no way that his summoning wasn't dangerous for all of them. Alexander wasn't known as the King of Conquerors who united the known world for nothing...but if he was here, what class was he? Saber? Rider? Lancer made sense to him from the historical view. If they could discern that, they'd know what to expect from him to some degree, wouldn't they? But did he risk having Kaori there alone any longer when the situation was this dire? "Stay hidden! Do not go out there, Kaori! Whatever you do, this is not a fight we want to get into lightly. ...But if they do notice you and you can't escape, don't hesitate. Call me. I'll use a Command Seal to send my Servant to your side and get you out of there if I have to..."

...

His communication was suddenly changed into a momentary static by the eruption of an explosion in the side of the Arena on her end, the next thing the swordsman heard the piercing cry of the Berserker in the night air, a shriek that made his ear ache and his spine run with cold chills. Nothing that sounded like that could be anything good! "Kaori what's going on? What was that sound?!"
