*gasp* You found the hidden text! Oh, wow. You deserve a cookie~ Here~ have the hidden password: Fiddlemasticks (PM it to KeyJester for a surprise) ♙ Welcome to Arcas, and it's Pocket Worlds ♙
✍
Yes, hello there, and welcome to this massive online roleplay, created by the KeyJester~ As you can see, this is a roleplay that spans over many different worlds that are all connected to eachother, and there's no limit to have many characters you can play. There are tons of places to explore, and NPCs to bug, so you can go wild and have an adventure like nothing else. Or you can just stay in one small town and start a family there. Whatever your heart desires!
This roleplay is mainly scentered around one specific world - Arcas - and the pocket dimensions that are directly tied to it. The worlds in here mostly run on a "anything goes" kind of basis, and you're free to create a new character that is from one of these worlds, or drag in another one of your lovelies and dump her/him/them here. All kinds of characters are welcome, and one of the main rules here is that no character, nor player, shall be judged. They're all amazing, in their own way.
Now, keep in mind that there are certain worlds that do follow a certain set of rules. The threads marked with the [SoA] are worlds with a very specific setting, and normally you cannot enter those worlds unless specifically invited. This is because these worlds are important worlds to the story of Arcaiia, so things work a certain there that you should be familiar with before taking a dive into them. Preferably, if you are to RP there, you should be familiar with the stories of Arcaiia and its people (just ask KeyJester if you want to know more about that world, by the way), and actually have a character that belongs to that setting. Of course, characters from outside the setting can be allowed inside, under special circumstances.
The subworlds of the world [Omnerias] are very causal worlds where most things are allowed. These are perfect settings for your already existing characters to get dropped into and explore, and you can choose to have your characters just stay in one of the worlds, or travel between them, as all the [Omnerias] worlds are connected by portals that you can freely travel through. Although most things are allowed in those worlds, and you basically can set your own rules on how the magic and skills and whatnot of your characters work there, the GM might step in every now and then to make sure things don't get out of hand. Not all things are allowed, remember. If you're unsure about anything, just ask the GM. And, be sure to work together with the other players so you don't overrun anyone with your RPing.
The world known as Walls of Malkresh - marked with [O] as in "open for anything" - is the free-for-all world where absolutely anything goes. And I mean, literally, anything goes. There are no real rules, and the settings are different in each part of the world, so everything is completely run by the players themselves. Though there is a GM in charge of the world, she won't step in unless it's really, really necessary (as in the event of arguing players or the like). This is also the perfect place for any of the players to go in full GM mode, because all the places are free for the players to do whatever they like with. If you're interesting in GMing a special place in Malkresh, then just talk to KeyJester about it. I'm positive she'll let you.
The unexplored world is, as stated, unexplored. It's a world that is tied to Arcas, like the other pocket worlds, but we haven't really looked into it yet. KeyJester might take on that task, or she might just leave it to someone else - we don't really know yet. If you're up for the task of exploring it, and giving us a pretty description of it, then just let us know! It will, after all, save us quite a lot of work, since we're busy monitoring the worlds we've found so far. A bit of advice? All the pocket worlds have these "avatars" - the essence of the world itself as a sentient being - and they're all tied together. If you want to explore that world, I suggest that the first thing you do when diving in there is to find that avatar. It might make your exploration a little easier, and by awakening that avatar, you will allow it to connect with the other avatars and make it possible for others to access that world, as the avatars themselves will set up connection points for portals.

Arcaiia - our Plane of Existence
We all exist on a plane that has been named Arcaiia [arka-ee-ah]. That plane is our very existence, as we cannot exist outside it, and everything that we know is within this plane. There are other planes, yes, as there is a total of 5 planes on top of eachother all in all - Arcaiia being the 2nd from the top - but we cannot access the other planes, so they are of little importance. The only plane that matters to us, is the plane directly beneath us - the middle plane - which is known as the Realm of Fantasy. This is also where you can find the Dreamer's Realm, which is the world our subconscious visits when we're dreaming. If you haven't guessed already, this plane is connected to ours through our minds. Anything we imagine here, becomes reality down there (or maybe the things we imagine are controlled by the things already existing down there - who knows?). Those horrid nightmares you've had? All real. That favourite game of yours that you've spent hours upon hours playing? All real. It all exists within the Realm of Fantasy.
But, as mentioned, the only plane of importance here is Arcaiia. Our world. Our existence. (the name Arcaiia quite literally translates into "existence" and is from an ancient language of the 1st world that no longer exists)
Our world, as we know it, within this plane of existence, has been created three times. (read about the creation of the 1st world here - The 2nd and 3rd creation stories have yet to be properly written)
The entire plane was created by the Almighty Creature, after It had created Itself. What the Almighty Creature did was, basically, to create the piece of paper - the plane - and the crayons - the elements - that was used to draw the picture that is our world. And then it fell into a deep slumber, allowing its creations to draw whatever they wanted. However, after a certain amount of time, the Almighty Creature awakened as a mortal being, to be a part of our existence, and what It saw when It did, was a world on the brink of destruction. The people within existence had become greedy, and was waging war on eachother, threatening to destroy the entire world. The Almighty Creature's life energy is tied to our plane of existence. If the Almighty dies, so does the plane, and vice versa. So, to prevent total destruction of the entire plane, the Almighty Creature took on Its form as the Creator again, and destroyed the world, to begin anew. And thus the 1st World ended, and the 2nd World began. Unfortunately, things repeated themselves, and the Almighty was forced to destroy the world once more, and, again, start all over - creating the 3rd World.
The 3rd World is our existence as we know it - the world of Arcaiia.

The Different Frequencies
Everything we know exists within one plane of existence, that much is clear. But our plane has something that is referred to as different "frequencies" that we all exist on All the frequencies are all in the same space, overlapping eachother, and yet you cannot go from one frequency to the other.
All of Arcaiia as we know it exists on one frequency - the "main" frequency. Now, have you ever seen a ghost? Or a creature that isn't supposed to exist, and that vanished in the instant you saw it? Then you had the luck of spotting a visitor from another frequency. The one directly beneath our "main" frequency is known as the realm of spirits, because this is the frequency that all ghosts and spirits exists within. Parallel to our world, and, in a way, in our world, but simply on a different frequency, which explains how they can pass through things, and we normally can't see them. And creatures from this specific frequency has the ability to pass between the barriers of the frequencies and visit ours, which, in turn, explains how we sometimes see them.
There are countless frequencies - one being the underworld of the Daevos race, which is a warped and twisted version of ours - and under normal circumstances it is impossible to travel between them. The "realm of the summonings" is the frequency directly above us, and it's a place that is home to special beings that we know as summonings. By calling on a being from this realm, you can form a contract and gain it as your own personal summoning, thus making you a summoner. By calling on a summoning, you are allowing it to pass between the barriers and enter our frequency. Summonings whom live in our frequency on a daily basis - there are more of those than you know - will have to pass through the realm of summonings when called upon, which will allow them to fully access their powers as a summoning.
The world of Gaia~
We all know of the dimension known as Gaia. It is one of the largest dimensions out there - though, not the largest - and it is a vast universe filled with countless galaxies and worlds. The dimension has gotten its name from the charn word "gaia" which means "mother", because that specific dimension just happens to be the origin of our entire existence. It was there that the Almighty first created Arcaiia, so everything began there.
However, a time very, very, very long ago, the dimension fell into a horrible war, and the inhabitants created the most powerful weapon to ever have existed, and even to this day many fear that such a weapon will be created again. It was known as the Magi Bomb, as it was created by harvesting pure magic, and forcing it into one device, causing an explosion like nothing anyone has ever seen before. Pulling every single atom in the entire dimension together into one single point, destroying absolutely everything and warping and twisting it, then releasing it in one Big Bang, this weapon changed Gaia for all eternity.
Not only was magic permanently banned from the dimension, but the explosion caused a rift in the frequencies, and it left the entire dimension trapped between the "main" frequency, and the one below it. After all these years, Gaia has flourished once more, and is a dimension filled with life that people can travel to - through the gates in Antia. However, being trapped between frequencies, none of the inhabitants of Gaia can see people visiting from other dimensions.
One of the most popular places to visit in Gaia, is a small planet in a tiny galaxy, placed as third from the sun, and it is named Tellus.

The Pocket Dimensions
A very debated topic among the scholars of Arcaiia is the Pocket Dimensions.
Imagine that our plane of existence is a giant table that fills an entire room. The floor is the border to the plane below us - the Realm of Fantasy - while the ceiling is the border to the plane above us. Most of the dimensions that we know of are all placed on the surface of the table, while some dimensions hover above it. The various realms that belongs to deities and higher beings are found higher up, closer to the ceiling, and thus are also more powerful, while the Netherworld and various death realms can be found underneath the table, hugging underside of it.
Pocket Dimensions are worlds that are placed very far below us, close to the floor. In other words, they're closer to the plane beneath us, than the rest of the dimensions. And that plane, as we all know, is the Realm of Fantasy. The dimensions placed close to it are still within our plane of existence, but they are extremely influenced by the plane below, so everything seems to be working completely different from what we're used to. The laws of nature can be different, time moves differently, the barrier between the frequencies is, at best, unstable, and basically all kinds of crazy things can happen. The Pocket Dimensions are in a realm of its own, really, like a pocket, which is why they're called 'pocket' dimensions.
For some reason, all the pocket dimensions seems to have some sort of connection to a dimension found inside Main World - closed off from everyone by a strange barrier. This specific dimension is named Arcas.

Arcas
Arcas a strange world that has attracted the attention of many, many scholars. It is, in a way, a newly founded dimension, as it came into existence at the time of World Union - which took place roughly 6 years ago (on the 1st of april 2008, to be exact). A couple of years after WU, Arcas was discovered. Placed within the same dimension as the Main World, but high above the sun revolving around the plateau that makes up that world, and updsidedown. Since then, many has tried traveling up there, but for some reason it is impossible to reach that high. As soon as one reaches as high as the highest level of the sun, one is met with a barrier of unknown magic, and not even the most powerful of mages, nor the most intelligent of scholars, have been able to break the barrier. Arcas remains impossible to enter, and completely closed off from the rest of the worlds - as if it is in a dimension of its own. It's a dimension inside a dimension.
Because of its inaccessability, and how you're stopped before you can even pass the sun, it has now become a popular saying that to visit Arcas, you need to be able to fly higher than the sun.
But Arcas has existed for far longer than people are aware of, though not in the state that it is in now. Ever since the beginning of the 3rd World, the pieces that makes up Arcas has been around.
After the 3rd World was created, someone, or something, created 15 small dimensions, and closed them off from the rest of he world. Within each of those dimensions, 15 temples were built - one for each of the elements - to guard the pieces of a treasure of immense worth - a treasure from the 1st World. All these years, the dimensions have remained closed off, and their existence unknown to most people, though the legends and the stories have been persued by certain driven scholars over the years - without any luck, of course. Then the World Union happened, and a powerful force drew the many dimensions together, causing a full scale collision that affected all of Arcaiia, and changed all the dimensions forever, and this caused the 15 hidden dimensions to gather in the scentre of Arcaiia, and create one world - Arcas.
As previously mentioned, the world known as Arcas has ties to all the pocket dimensions, and the only theory for it so far is that the pieces that made up Arcas was once a part of those pockets. But, there is a small number of pocket worlds that aren't just connected to Arcas, but quite literally bound to it, and passage between Arcas and these worlds is not as impossible as one would think...

The Avatars
All worlds within Arcaiia has a life essence that has the capability to awake and become sentient, gaining an avatar form - an actual being that can live among the inhabitants of their world. All avatars are, of course, bound to their own world, because if they ever were to live it, they'd take their world with them, causing complete chaos and, quite possibly, destruction.
All the pocket dimensions that are bound to Arcas has had their essence awakened and become sentient, and their avatars are now "normal" inhabitants that roam the worlds. What is causing the bond between these pockets and Arcas is unknown, but it is thought that it is the avatars themselves that might be chained to something, or someone, in Arcas. If this is a good or a bad thing, yet remains to be seen.
The Guardians~
World Avatars have the ability to choose a person to become their personal guardian. This person gains powers unique to the guardians - as it taps in on the powers of the world itself - and they are also given the ability to travel between dimensions. They function, in a way, as messengers for the avatars themselves, as well as their protectors, and wherever they go, they will forever be the servants of the world they guard.
But there is a darker side to the life of a guardian, one people very rarely speaks of, and it can make it seem as if being a Guardian is a form of punishment. Because, an eternal life - never being allowed to die - of complete servitude is something few people, if any, desires. Once bound to a world, its essence - its avatar - will use its powers to keep the Guardian alive no matter what, as it is the very soul of the Guardian that becomes the fuel that sustains the entire existence of the world. Without exception, every Guardian throughout history has had their soul destroyed by the toll of sustaining a world, driving the Guardian into utter insanity.
Once the soul is destroyed, the world will absorb what is left of the Guardian, making it a conscious part of its own essence so that the Guardian can continue serving the world for all eternity, and a new person is chosen as a new Guardian.

And so, it begins...
The room was a space outside of time itself, and nothing really existed there. The walls were transparent, and on the other side of them one could see the countless dimensions that were all a part of existence.
"Sisters."
A gentle voice broke the silence, and an elegant woman walked into view. Her skin was as dark as dark cocholate, her hair, ebony black in colour, was tied up in an elegant style and decorated with golden pearls, and her eyes held a soft emerald glow to them. She wore a long, elegant green dress, and in her hand rested a green staff that pulsated with the power of the Earth. Her eyes looked up and her gaze rested on three other women, seemingly younger in appearance, that were sitting in the empty air itself, and they all nodded to her.
"It's done. He's bound to me."
One of the women spoke, and her brilliant amethyst eyes sparkled as she did. Her skin was pale, and her silver hair were perfectly curled and framed her face in a feminine way. The fabric of her elegant, purple dress hardly made any sound at all as she shifted in her position, moving her staff - shining brightly as the moon itself - from one hand to the other. The woman sitting next to her - close enough to rest her head on her shoulder - just smiled as she looked down at the older woman below them. Her eyes shone like brilliant rubies, perfectly matching her ruby red dress, and her golden hair was neatly tied up in a girly ponytail. Playing with the burning staff in her hand, she ignored the huffing sound made by the last girl.
"It's not fair. I kind of wanted him as my Guardian. He's sort of cute, really, in a haunted kind of way."
The fourth and last, and quite obviously the youngest, crossed her arms and put up a pouting face, which made her sky-blue eyes shine even brighter. Her orange hair held a bronze tint to it, and her skin held a light golden tone, which perfectly complimented the dark blue dress she was wearing. Uncrossing her arms again, she reached out and grabbed the feather-decorated staff by her side, and sighed dramatically.
"Now both Diemara and Noctemia has Guardians. When will I find one?"
The first woman just shook her head.
"Be patient, Sidereus. I'm sure the one you will make your Guardian is already on his or her way."
The young girl pouted again and gave the woman a glare.
"I don't like being patient, Horadies. Besides, you don't have a Guardian either."
Horadies just smiled.
"All in due time, little sister. All in due time."
There was a circle of strange marks in the middle of the room, painted on the transparent floor with magic, and Horadies slowly walked over to the edge of it. Stopping there, she looked over her shoulder, and her eyes narrowed.
"I did not expect you to show, brother."
The shape of a man could be seen in the shadows in one of the corners in the room - though how there could be shadows in a transparent non-existant room was.. Peculiar - but he did not make any attempts to move into the light.
"You know this won't work, right?"
Horadies waved her hand at his words.
"We won't know until we have tried. Leave us, brother, if you don't intend to help us."
The man didn't even answer, and suddenly his shape was gone from the shadows.
Turning back to the circle, she held up her hands, calling forth the magic from within it. The three women, sitting in the air to her left, raised their arms as well, joining in on the calling, and two other figures, standing opposite of them, could be seen doing the same. All in all, there were six of them, and as the magic in the circle started rising in the middle of the group, Horadies' eyes glowed fiercly.
"Now. We call on the souls. Any who can hear us, will be forced to answer the call, and they will come. My companions - it begins."
