The last few seconds of that skirmish were blurry to Megrez. Someone had called her name, there was a massive tower of flame that nearly left her softboiled, and then before she knew it she'd been picked up and carried off far, far away. Only when she had been set down did the world slowly come back into focus. She finally realized that Eternal Sailor Gunn was standing before her, and that said Eternal Sailor had saved her bacon. Furthermore, a faint tingle of pain was starting to creep back into her arm where she had been cut. Breathing heavily, she started to shake, and a few tears leaked from her eyes (it wasn't an active sort of crying; the tears just slid out). "Th-thank you for saving me," Megrez stammered, trying and failing to regain her composure. "I-I tried fighting her, but I couldn't hit her, and she had a weapon, and she was really strong and she was really going to kill me, and..." The small spell of rambling trailed off there, as no more coherent words would come to her lips. Cautiously, she pressed her hand to her wound and winced. romeo wilco Here we go! Gunn let the scout babble as she scanned the area around them, seeking any other Chaos signatures. There was nothing (that would pose a threat to Gunn) that she could sense, so she turned her attention to the orange-haired girl. "Please don't cry," she said, a little exasperated despite her best attempts. "Megrez. Really." When the scout fell quiet, Gunn sighed through her nose and stepped forward, draping an arm over Megrez's shoulders. "I know that was frightening," she said after a moment's consideration, "but what were you thinking? Attacking a General? You're first stage. A baby, basically. And you expect to take on a General and win?" Okay, so that had been meant to be a pep talk, but pep talks weren't really Gunn's style. She took a breath through her teeth, tried to chill out, and started over. "So here's what's up," she said. "Have you got a phone? Not a cellphone as a civilian. But like, a senshi phone. Did the guardian cat give one to you when you awakened?"

"Um. Sorry," Megrez said, quickly wiping away her tears. She wasn't really sure how exactly she was supposed to react; while she could have been stronger and a bit more stoic, there was little getting around the fact that she was very, very shaken right now. The feeling of Gunn's arm over her shoulder was comforting; Megrez took it as a gesture of camaraderie. Then she was faced with the issue at hand. "She attacked me first," she was quick to say. "I thought I had to fight back, or at least hurt her so I could get away." She was realizing how silly that sounded when she was flagrantly not a match for her opponent; it was one thing to do your part in the war against Chaos, but another thing entirely to try and fight an opponent that was several levels above you in nearly every dimension. When Gunn mentioned the Senshi phone, she nodded and pulled hers out. "Uh-huh. Here it is. Julienne gave me this. What about it?"

Gunn took out her phone. "It's not just a fashionable accessory, Megs." She held up her phone, bright red with its background of a very embarrassed Wolframite, and snapped a picture of Megrez. Then she turned the screen towards Megrez, so she could see the readout: Megrez, Senshi of Eggs. Gunn pressed the call button, and the phone in Megrez's hand rang. "If that ever happens again, you call me, or someone. You add every senshi you meet to your contact book, and if you run up against someone with an energy signature like that again, and I'm not answering, you press this button here." Gunn pointed it out on her own phone. "This is the distress button. It will call every senshi in range of you." She stepped back. "Take a picture of me now."

"Who's that?" Megrez was quick to ask, but then she was surprised by something else. The phones had a Senshi identifier. "I didn't know it could do that. The identifying thing, I mean. Of course I knew about the calling thing." Not that she had ever used it up to this point. Of course, now she would make sure to use it, but there was one other consideration she had to voice. "Isn't it a bit hard to call someone in battle?" Just pushing the distress button seemed a bit easier, as that just entailed sliding your hand into your pocket and remembering what the button felt like, but perhaps Megrez just needed to work on her sleight of hand. Megrez nodded, held up her phone, and took a picture of Gunn (perhaps paying a bit too much attention to keeping her centered in the process). Lo and behold, Gunn's title appeared on the screen: Gunn, Senshi of Wildfires. "Got it. I'll add you to my contacts now," she said, pushing the appropriate buttons. "I guess I should really hunt down the senshi I met when I was first starting out and get them in my contacts, too... I didn't manage to do that the first time."

"My eternal enemy," said Gunn, who nevertheless had to hide a grin at the reminder that she could now crush Wolframite whenever she wanted. It was kind of fun to have that kind of power over someone, although she wouldn't ever say it. Torture was one thing, but generally knowing she just had to creep up behind someone and-- snap! Hahaha. Yes. That was the sort of thing that kept her henshining up at night. Well, that, and the lives she could save. That was also inspiration. She quickly walked Megrez through setting a speed-dial. "Yeah, it's not something the ******** cats teach you, possibly because they're cats and there are just some lows even Chaos won't sink to, like kicking a cat." Although she probably would kill a Chaos cat if it meant there wouldn't be any more Chaos senshi. It didn't mean that, so… Gunn wasn't gonna cross that line. Some things were more forgivable than mild arson. "So, anyway, just hit two and send and I'll find you as soon as I can. Don't use the distress button too much, because it's like a Boy Who Cried Wolf situation, you know?" It wasn't like she had much experience with this. She put a hand on Megrez's shoulder and said, "Like, okay, are you going to pass out or something? You're not dying? Because I can handle dying if you've got to do it. Sorry, I'm like, s**t with this sort of thing."

"Huh." Megrez stared at her phone and wondered if she'd get a blackmail-looking picture like that to put on her phone someday, too. Once the speed dial had been set, she ran her thumb over the 2 key, hoping to memorize its texture so she wouldn't end up fumbling around at a crucial juncture. "Chaos people don't kick cats?" That was beside the point. "Got it. I'll try to just stick to calling you or one other person at a time unless I'm, like, being swarmed or if there's a weapon actually going through my body." When Gunn put her hand on her shoulder, Megrez took a deep breath and rubbed one eye. "I... I'll be fine. Thank you. But I've still got this cut on my arm, and I don't think a band-aid is going to cover it." She paused, then added, "I'm sorry. I guess I expected you to be... angrier."

Gunn rolled her eyes. "Megrez, to hear the Negaverse tell it, they don't need anything. They just relieve people of the lives those people no longer want to live." She frowned at the cut on the sailor scout's arm, and pulled the girl closer to her. She knew a guy who knew a guy, or in this case, she actually just knew a guy, who could fix it better than Gunn ever could. But there was a rule about wearing your henshin in Florence Court and that was simply that you didn't. Angry? Hm. Gunn never thought of herself as angry. Simply very, very determined. She yanked one of her fuku ribbons off the back of her uniform, wincing as it ripped, and wrapped it carefully around the wound. "I know a doctor," she said. "He's a senshi, too. Oenone. He's sort of new, but he's decent, and he can fix this better than I can. Where he lives, you're not allowed to henshin up, so you'd have to be…" She searched for the name, and eventually said, "Your civilian self. You up to it?"

"'The lives those people no longer want to live...?'" Something about the phrase struck Megrez as off. Did the Negaverse target people with weak wills to live? That approach did make sense in a way, giving people a new "meaning" to their lives via service to the Negaverse or just plain ripping those wills out. Megrez nodded. She couldn't just walk around with this big honking cut on her arm and expect it to go away. "Okay. It's a good thing we have doctors on our side, isn't it? Someone's got to stitch us back up so we don't have to go to the hospital every other night. Should I power down now?" She did have some apprehensions about powering down, but considering that she'd be in Gunn's care, she was pretty sure she'd be fine if she got jumped by another Negaverse agent or some youma.

Gunn looked at the senshi, a single well-shaped eyebrow arched. "I was being sarcastic," she said, her tone a little more acidic now that Megrez seemed calmer and also, a little less bleedy. "You're fine for now. I'll let you know when, alright?" And she leapt off, leading the way to Destiny City's historic district and Florence Court. Sami-Fire Wrap, and on to the next thread!

"Right, sorry." Megrez looked down, a bit unnerved. When Gunn bounded off, she followed, hoping all the movement wouldn't aggravate her arm. All the while, she waited for the cue to power down.
