Vyrikyr sighed with contentment as she sank deeper in the water until it came all the way up to her shoulders. It was a Hot day and the only escapes from the heat were the scant bits of shade cast by the few trees on the plains (where all of the Other soquili were huddled and that really took away from the cool factor) or to soak in one of the lakes that dotted the landscape. It was only with the blessing of her wings that she had been able to fly to find a lake deep enough for a proper soak. From the sky, the darker the blue of the water, the deeper the lake and she had flown a bit to find this one.
As she basked in the cooling waters that lapped lazily against her neck, she realized there was a small trade off to this soak. She was going to have to stretch out in the sun and let her wings dry a bit before she'd be able to fly again. But right now she didn't care! She was cool and the pool was so relaxing. She figured she'd deal with the consequences later!

Esperenza looked for someplace cool to relax and daydream and cooler days. So when she found a lake so quickly slowly walked into it starting the daydream. About walking into a crystal clear lake filled with snow flakes and feathers for some odd reason. She hadn't noticed she had seen another in the lake before she went in it. Though some where in her mind she saw feathers of red, blue, white, and maybe teal? She couldn't be too sure.
She swam under water to cool off some more while going deeper into her daydream. That's when all sorts of things fly into her mind like so she shock them away then swam to the surface to clear her mind then looked around her. When she spotted another she smiled saying, "Guess I wasn't the only one with the idea of finding a better way to cool off."

Vyrikyr flashed a grin at the other and replied, "Nope. But you had me a little worried there for a few seconds when you first got here." She added after a beat, "I thought you were sleep walking or something, you seemed a little out of it." She couldn't deny that she watched curiously to see if the cool water would bring the other out of her reverie, though she was ready spring into action and pull the mare out of the waters if any trouble arose. Luckily it had not come to that. "This water feels fantastic though! Don't you think?"

Esperenza swam a bit closer, "Oh, I was daydreaming and didn't really bother looking around before I started in on the daydream." Swishing her tail a bit for the fun of it, "I felt like I was asleep the way I got lost in the daydream so I guess I was out of it." Nodding her head shaking water everywhere, "Yes, the water feels so fantastic that I wish I had thought of coming here sooner."
Then she thought of something, "You have wings so at one point you'll have to dry them. For some reason I can picture you half under a tree with your head sticking out and your wings over your head. So at the same time your head will be cool while your wings dry. I'm not too sure that's helpful though thought I'd toss it out there just in case."

Vyrikyr inclined her head and nodded considering the mare's suggestion, "That's not the worst plan ever." She blew at her bangs which seemed to ever be falling in her face and her into her eyes. They drove her crazy half the time but she could never bring herself to get them cut. Just too attached to them and their dysfunctional relationship. This could get ugly if a man ever came into her life. She shook her head and tried to bring her attention back to the mare in the pool with her.
"But it's a plan for later because, to be honest, until that sun goes down just a little lower in the sky, I'm not moving," she edged just a little deeper into the water. "By the way, my name's Vyrikyr Vyrikyr Taerdos - Taerdos is a family name. You can just call me Vyrikyr."

Esperenza smiled, "Glad it's not the worst plan ever." Then she watched as she tried blowing her bangs off her face. She wasn't too sure she was paying attention anymore so she went under water again to cool off her head. Then came up quickly to make sure she didn't say anything yet.
Nodding her head even more smiling brightly, "I know what you mean. It's nice to swim around in such cool water while the sun burns brightly above." She decided to go deep into the water as well, "Nice to meet you Vyrikyr, and interesting family name. I'm Esperenza. Do you swim under water?"

Vyrikyr wrinkled her nose and shook her head, "No thanks, I'm not crazy about water getting in my face. I mean, I know it's silly and that it's only water but....I'm still gong to pass." She flashed a grin at Esperenza, "That's a good name you have and you take to the water like a kelpie - you're like a natural here."

Esperenza smiled, "Guess swimming under water isn't for everyone. When I first started swimming under water it scared me being something new. Something I never tried before so I guess after I learned I fell in love with swimming, even swimming under water." Shaking her mane some more, "Thanks, the part about you liking my name and about taking to water like a kelpie."

Vyrikyr shrugged, "Swimming is okay on a hot day like this or after a grueling race, but I'm a bird, not a fish." She spread her soaked wings and eyed them critically. "I'm made for the skies, not for the seas. But like I said, on a day like today exceptions must be made."

Esperenza nods her head while listening, "Oh yes, after races or really need to cool off from the sun. I may not be a fish though I'm more fish then bird. At least I think I am." Watching her spread her wings makes her wish to daydream about flying though she stops herself because she's having a nice time talking with Vyrikyr. "Expectations, yup, those things." She starts swimming around her friend in large circles, taking her time to relax.

"So how about you?" Vyrikyr asked folding her wings back to her sides under the cool water. "You're not a fish so you don't swim all day, what Do you spend your time doing?"

Esperenza dips her head under water a bit before bring her head back up to say, "Well, I enjoy a good run, as well as jumping over items as long as they aren't too tall. Playing in the snow till I get too cold. Though the thing I do most of all is daydream. I let my mind wander to far away places or turn things around me into something straight out of a fairy tale. So when I'm not doing any of that I must admit I do like a good adventure. It makes me feel like I am living in one of my daydreams." Smiling at Vyrikyr, "So other then racing and flying what do you spend your time on?" She stops swimming around her to pay more attention to her words.

Vyrikyr inclined her head considering the question the mare posed to her but could only manage the shrug, "Honestly....that's about it. I live to race, to run as fast as my hooves can carry me across the land. And I live to soar, long to touch the clouds and watch my shadow glide over rivers, lakes, and meadows. That's really what makes me happy - that's what makes me happy." She laughed and splashed at the water, "I guess that makes me a bit shallow, huh? The girl who runs and flies - I mean, if I didn't have the wings that might almost be interesting. But really, I'm just plain, old, uninteresting me."

Esperenza smiled, "With your wings I couldn't find you uninteresting, and running sounds fun. Me, I mostly walk around daydreaming and walking into things a lot. With wings I bet I'd fly into things as well." Splashing around in the water a bit to keep cool before thinking of something, "Hey, you have a really long tail and it's braided, now that's interesting as well. My tail isn't long enough to braid though I like my short tail." Then she splashed in the water some more wishing there would be clouds above them so it'd be a bit cooler at least.
