So I've been grounded for about two weeks and I'll be back with my group nest week but there last session featured my characters death. I knew this was to happen thought the character isn't dead, she was released from prison... This doesn't matter! Forget that! What I need is a new character that isn't a rogue. For 4 years I've played nothing but that and just a month a ago I tried my hand at a bard and that was quit fun though I don't wish to be a full magic user like a bard but isn't really a tank either. I need a class that is pulled form the book and isn't from the D&D wiki. My race is a Jaebrin. I need something truly epic due to the fact that if traitors (meaning my brother how did the deed) will regret it a second till. I need a class that can hold it's own in later levels and will be starting as a level 6 as it's effective character level.

I'd recommend the Magus class from Pathfinder, or something like it. It's a perfect cross between magic and melee. Can even use (spellstrike) to impart touch spells while dealing damage with your weapon. Also, the arcane pool, and spell recall really helps keep you going in combat.
If you're trying to prevent a repeat of history, why don't you tell me what class your bro is.

Basically, anything other than a fighter can hold its own in later levels (fighters have it much harder).
If you enjoy playing based on alignment, Paladins are pretty good. Otherwise my 3.5 knowledge is rusty.
