No, he wasn't lost.

At least, he'd never admit it if someone were to ask. Ashur glanced at his surroundings every so often, completely at a loss as to which part of DC he was actually in (and it really didn't help that it was already dark out and he was, more or less, a sitting duck since he wasn't that much of a fighter). And it definitely didn't help that the nights were still pretty nippy. Nevertheless, the page pressed on, his sticks-for-weapons on hand as they usually were. Just in case he needed them, not that they were...all that useful.

He rounded a corner and kept walking rather aimlessly, worry mounting (but, again, he'd never admit it) with each step. Soon enough he caught sight of someone in the distance, emitting a familiar sort of energy signal, so Ash made a dash for whoever it was.

"Hey!" he called in greeting while still a long way off. With any luck the guy would stick around and maybe tell him where the heck he was so he could start heading home.

I honestly had no idea how to start; my apologies if it's kinda terrible. XD;

It's not, don't worry!

Luxor was used to the cool weather when the night settled. Well, he had to be, really, considering that each time he went on patrol he was reduced to a handful of leather straps and a cloth wrapped around his waist. Yes, technically it was all more complicated than that, but he still felt ver exposed and certainly not weather appropriate.

Or 'out in public' appropriate.

He felt an aura and was quickly greeted by someone calling out to him. He turned, looking unsurprised, his expression bland and a little on the grumpy side. That was his general look, even when he was in a good mood, or feeling any emotions at all. He looked at the other knight and tilted his head very slightly to one side in greeting.

"Hello," he said stiffly, as if an automated message. He watched him for a long pause before continuing, "Are you on patrol around here too?"

There were some out there that could be territorial. Luxor certainly was, when he was near his carnival and park grounds. He wasn't sure if this was this young knight's area or not. He seemed familiar, but then, Luxor had recently seen a lot of knights all together in one place, so a lot of them were going to seem familiar in some fleeting way.

The closer he got the narrower his eyes, and when he was finally within proper conversing distance his eyes were basically slits as he evaluated the poor guy's clothes. Chilly night out, and he was in...barely anything. "Uh.." Ash started, then nodded at the other knight. He didn't even really register the automated message sort of tone and the question that had been asked; he was too focused on the guy's outfit. "Are you not cold at all?" he blurted out, then winced.

"Sorry, uh.. no," the Page gave his choppy, lame answer in an attempt to recover. "I was just passing through, actually." It was a half-truth at best, at worst a flat out lie. But the other knight didn't really need to know that. So instead, Ashur focused on getting to know who the guy was before asking for his help. The barely-clad knight actually looked kind of familiar, and Ash could only think it was because he'd probably seen him at the Olympus thing at some point.

"I'm Ashur of Uranus." The Page extended a hand. "I don't really frequent this area. Is this where you usually patrol?"

Luxor frowned and then looked down at himself. He folded his arms a little tighter over his chest. Now that he was thinking about it, was cooler out than he had first noticed. He was not a fan of it, either way. He cleared his throat and shook his head slowly.

"I'm a little cold," he said, dismissively. It did not really matter if he was or not, right? They still had a job to do, and that was what he was out here doing. He would be much better off than most in the summer, right? It would even out... eventually...

He was a little relieved to know that this was not the other knight's territory, if only because he did not want to have to deal with someone yelling at him for something he could not have known. Of course, he always gave anyone that stumbled into his carnival a really hard time, but that just gave him a bar to judge what his experience on the other end would be like. He assumed everyone had a particular area they were set to keep safe, but he didn't really know. His network of other knights was fairly small, so he had no idea how things really worked.

'My name is Luxor, of Pluto," he added, with a stiff, slight nod of his head. "I don't come to this area much either, I was just passing through as well. We could patrol together, if you want. Do you do this much?" The other knight seemed unsure of himself, and Luxor was picking up on that. He was either just a nervous guy by nature, or he was on the newer side, or something else was making him uncertain of himself.

Luxor didn't seem to mind the cold, and he said as much and in a rather dismissive way that Ashur just let it go in favor of other topics of conversation. He took his hand back once the other knight had decided to nod instead of shake hands -- maybe it was too formal a gesture? -- and, at the offer to patrol together, he kind of nodded. "Yeah, I guess," was his initial reply, and he scratched his head a bit.

Back when a certain Mars knight had helped him off a roof he had no trouble with admitting to his weaknesses, but now that he'd been at this for a bit longer and he knew he should have been better...it was a little harder to do the same. Still, after considering briefly the Page could only sigh.

"I mean, I'm not sure how useful I'd be. I'm still a Page, so if we run into something or someone I'd be next to useless.."

And there it was. Out in the open, his biggest problem at his current level. What made it worse was that he wasn't actually actively looking to improve. As usual, he was just going with the flow, and as of late the flow was to just stick to his civilian life and struggle with juggling school life and family and (for some strange reason he couldn't quite place) his love life and a couple of part-time jobs to supplement his puzzle and project addiction.

But Luxor didn't need to know that much. "If you've got any pointers..." and he trailed off from there, eyes downcast and more or less a little embarrassed about his little admission.

Luxor had a very bad habit of being closed off and stiff, and he was not much for physical contact or conversation or smiling. He did not mean it disrespectfully or even meanly, it was just the way he conducted himself and he did not know how to act any differently. He did not think it was something he could learn how to do, in fact. This was just how he had always been, and who he was.

Changing it would be incredibly difficult, though he was trying, bit by bit, to be more available to other knights and the people at his Carnival. Very small steps, though.

Luxor listened as the Page spoke, nodding his head along slowly. He understood what it was like to be thrown into things and not know what to do, or how to do it. So far, he'd been making it up as he went along, but since he was rather strong to start with, he'd been able to muscle his way through things, without knowing all the details and ins and outs.

"I could help you with your stance, your fighting. I don't know much about anything else, but if you want physical training and to know the basics... I can help you with that."

He paused and glanced around, looking for a clear place where they could spar and not really have to worry about someone finding them. They would be able to feel any auras coming up around them, so it was just civilians he was worried about spotting two strangely dressed guys fighting each other.

The Page relaxed a bit at Luxor's reply; he was half-expecting some kind of a lecture before any offers to help, so he was relieved that the other knight seemed alright with the idea of helping out someone like him.

"Physical training would be a good idea," he said with a nod as he followed suit and started looking around for a place where they could do some hands-on training or sparring or something. Wouldn't it be something to get caught on film or camera, a "Jedi" duking it out with someone who looked like they belonged in Egypt or some equally desert-ish area. "I mean, I think I can throw a punch or two but fighting's never been too much my thing. I could use any help I can get..."

And the admissions just kept on coming, but eventually Ash shut up when they spotted a clearing that seemed alright -- there was a bit of grass that they could work on and there was a few trees around that helped to block a clear view of them. Once they made their way over, Ash stood on the edge of the plot of grass and looked at Luxor with questioning eyes.

"Uh.. so how is this supposed to work?"

Luxor stood opposite the Page, watching him blandly. He took a slow breath, not having much of a battle stance at the start of a fight. He was not a trained fighter, either, per se. He had a lot of physical training, after all, at the Carnival, and he used his reflexes from all his acrobatics and practice for shows to his advantage. That was years and years of pre-powering up training that he could draw from, and it certainly helped in the transition to monster busting warrior. He knew few others had that sort of background, though, so if he could offer a little help, he would try.

In his stiff, stoic way.

Really, the idea of teaching was appealing to him. He had a deep respect for those that had a love of their tasks, and those who wanted to keep it alive by passing it on to others. He knew he was not built to be a teacher, of course, as his lack of patience and the ability to emote made spending any amount of time with him... difficult at best. But he still tried, and it was something he did not resent. He wanted to help, even if he was bad at it.

"You should keep yourself relaxed," he said, motioning for the other to get ready. The only way to really learn how to fight was to get into a battle and find ones fighting style that way. A controlled fight was much easier than one against an enemy that really wanted to kill, though. "And keep your head clear. Feeling fear or giving in to hesitation will leave you open to attacks. You have to think, but only about the moment ahead of you, not what's happening around you, or in the past."

He moved to attack him, though Luxor did not go too fast and wasn't putting everything into his swings. He often did not heed the advice he gave: he lost himself to anger more often than not when he fought, but that was just as dangerous as fear. Even he had a few things to work on. But he was focused on this now and he wanted to see how the other was going to react to Luxor swinging a punch for his face.

Ash watched as his "teacher" got in position and listened carefully as he spoke, taking in the words and (hopefully) committing them to memory as he mirrored the other kinght's stance. He'd seen the movies and TV shows with fist fights and things, so he was at least a little familiar with how he ought to carry himself in a fight. Uh.. kind of.

Thankfully he had ample time to brace himself for an oncoming attack, considering Luxor had taken a few minutes to feed him a bit of advice about fear and its affects in battle. Made sense, he thought in passing, before he noticed the knights fist suddenly coming at his face.

He was probably lucky he had speed on his side; being a runner helped, and he was light on his feet. Ash moved slightly to his left just barely enough to dodge the brunt of the attach, though he felt the punch graze his cheek. It didn't really hurt, per se, but he ran the back of his hand over the little wound anyway.

"Really? Right for the face?" Not that he was trying to make light or joke around, but he wasn't looking forward to sporting a black eye or broken nose anytime soon.

Luxor was trying not to let himself go all out, but he couldn't help himself when he got caught up in a fight. He liked fighting, and he liked being able to vent his own frustrations through it. He was not the type that went out there and looked for fights just to get his tension cleared, but he would take them as they came to him. Usually, though, it was against Chaos and he had no reason to hold back with them.

In fact, he generally pushed far beyond what he should have, to take them down.

With another order member, though, he was trying not to go all Hulk rage and throw him through a building. Luxor was a walking muscle, strong and lithe enough to jump and flip around, making him a difficult guy to battle on even footing. Of course, the Negaverse liked to cheat, and had their weapons and powers to help them. Luxor was not aware that knights could use magic, or at least, he was not aware that he had any.

"Sorry," he said, pausing in his attacks after his first hit just barely missed its target. "I thought you said you wanted to learn how to fight. The face is vulnerable. As is the gut." He moved again, this time swinging his arm low and bringing it up, cutting his fist toward the other knight's stomach.

The Page got back into position, fists raised as he listened to the other knight again. Face is a good target -- he kind of figured that, sure. Gut, also a good target. He was about to say something when Luxor came at him again, and this time he felt the guy's fist make contact with his stomach, knocking the wind right out of him as he as he bent forward for a second before taking a few steps back.

"Right," he coughed, raising a hand to signal that he needed a second. "Face first, gut second. I can see why. While I'm keeled over here, mind telling me how I ought to be defending?"

"Don't let me hit you."

Luxor watched the other, then shook his head and moved to grab on to his arms, moving him into a different position. He made him brace his legs in a different position, and hold his arms up, once he was able to uncurl from the punch before, so he had more of an option to shield himself.

"If you hold your arms like this, half way between defending and attacking, you can switch between the two. Having your legs spread but planted gives you enough mobility to dodge or lunge, but keeps your attacks powerful."

He was not a trainer, but he spent a lot of his time fighting. Though his delivery was flat and bland, he was sincerely interested in teaching the other how to keep himself moving and defended, so he would be able to survive a fight. Satisfied in his work so far, he took a few steps back.

"Use your forearms to absorb hits. Think of boxers or cage fighters, the way they keep their bodies tight and their limbs together. Everything in its place, so it can be easily used regardless of what is thrown. You have to pay attention, though. None of it matters if you're not keeping your eye on things."

"Yeah, thanks," he snorted, then stood upright again and tried to relax a bit and get back into a fighting stance, allowing Luxor to position his limbs and, once that was done, he shifted and tried to get....comfortable. It was new, but the explanations that the other knight was giving him helped to explain the importance. "Arms up, legs apart but planted for power and mobility," the Page echoed, then clenched and unclenched his fists.

Ash watched his "trainer" get into position as well, then nodded and tried to concentrate and get ready for Luxor's next attack. "Right, focus. Pay attention while someone tries to pummel me so they can't.. pummel me, I guess." Ash smirked and held his ground, eyes on his sparring partner.

"Alright, I think I got it..."

I'm so sorry, I don't know how I missed this for so long ;-;

Luxor nodded his head, looking at the other with a placid, but interested gaze. He was getting into this little exchange, and glad to know he was offering some small amount of advice and help to someone. He had the utmost respect for teachers and he had always wanted to be able to help someone.

He moved to attack, but he was holding back this time. he wanted to go through the motions of an attack and let the other learn how to react, to have the time to see his instincts and follow through with them: speed would come in due time.

It did not happen all at once, not for everyone. Sometimes, a lot of work went in to training something that came naturally to others. Luxor certainly understood that, as he spent all of his life training for things.

"Just watch my movements and try to fight back. Find a place to attack," he said, as he moved to pull his arm back and made to swing for Ash's face.

It all made sense to him in theory, but it was a whole other thing to actually put into practice. Fighting had never been much of a thing for him; the only violence he'd ever hoped to do was against his own father...and he was mostly taking the hits because he didn't want the man to redirect to his siblings.

So he was thankful that Luxor had gone slower this time. It gave him a little more time to think. To react better. He knew in a real fight his opponent wouldn't be so kind, but that was why sparring existed, right?

Ash watched the other move to punch him, and he did his best to do as he was instructed. He kept his calm and looked for an opening. And he thought he saw one just as Luxor's fist was closing in on his face -- his body wasn't completely guarded, was it? In that split second before imminent impact, he aimed a punch for Luxor's right flank and hoped for a hit, then stifled a groan as the other knight's punch hit him square in the jaw.
