It wasn't Cruithne's usual style to go through any part of Destiny City proper to get home after patroling. This once, she figured she could chance it. Besides, this was the quickest way home and she'd stayed out far too long tonight. And it wasn't like anyone would see her. Not if she was careful.

Which she was, keeping to the shadows and keeping her eyes open, freezing in place if she heard so much as a cat move. Except, what had her frozen right now wasn't a poor, neglected stray. It was an aura that was much stronger than anything she'd ever encountered. And it scared her. And along with the fear came a wave of curiosity to see who or what was making it. She was certain she could keep hidden and peek. And it would be a learning experience.

Yes.

Bolstered by her rationalizations, Cruithne darted from one patch of shadow to another, tracking the aura.

Sarras was still getting the hang of this whole knight business, though it seemed that the universe wasn’t willing to cut him some slack. The moment he powered up, he had felt a surge of Chaos energy hit him and it was potent, reminding him of the general he had met that night he first was awakened. The Code confirmed these agents of Chaos to be his enemy and to treated as such until they could prove themselves otherwise. From what he recalled from General Benitoite, though, he wasn’t going to hold his breath that this one was looking to extend the hand in peace… no one made it that far into the organization without having soaked in the blood of their enemies prior, and by then, he was certain that redemption was too late.

At least he’d see this as on the job training, as he moved quietly around the streets and as stealthy as one possible could given the glaring white of his uniform as well as the disgusting pastel pinks and violets that seemed to glisten in the light. He was no fool… whoever this was clearly outmatched him, but Sarras also wasn’t one to be frightened so easily. And he couldn’t give up this ground, either… the hospital was much too close for his tastes and the thought of this officer seeking his brother triggered a rather predatory response in the page. Even if the best he could do was lure the officer away, he was going to keep his brother safe…

What he didn’t know was that because his attention was focused solely on the Chaos order, he couldn’t feel the Order aura that was approaching as well, and he had caught a glimpse of the Negaverse officer before ducking back into the darkened alley. He hadn’t seen him, but the officer felt him, and he let out a low curse, never once seeing the Chibi that was approaching from the opposite end and closing in on the general’s position. “Damn.”

”Alright, any time you want to show yourself… some of us have things to do this evening.” General Buddingtonite wasn’t often in a grouchy mood, but when he was, he was the type to make absolutely certain that everyone in the five mile radius would found out about it. And in all honestly, this was his fault and even he couldn’t deny that. He had no business being up and about and he honestly had no intention of straying far from the hospital, given his condition. But something lured him out here and now that he was here, he might as well have put himself to good use.

What he was hoping to find in this part of the neighborhood was someone either completely drunk and easy for the pickings for his energy gathering, or maybe a homeless guy. What he found, however, was the tingling of an Order aura, lingering in the air like the aroma of a pie that just came from the oven. He should have left it alone, but damn his curiosity, he found himself wandering towards it. His stitched up sides, as well as his bandaged hand made the idea of a fight a very bad one, but he was certain that the drugs would last a little while longer. He thought wrong. Now, he had managed to pin down the Order aura to the general area, but when he couldn’t find its source, he started to get annoyed. “Come on, I won’t even hurt you much… look, no weapon, no youma… nothing but harmless ol’ me. You can’t possibly be afraid of me-”

Suddenly there was movement towards his left and he immediately twisted around, seeking to protected his side from the danger, and the moment he spotted the Chibi senshi, he let out a sigh of relief, though the motion was exceptionally painful for him as it devolved into a groan. “Oh, it’s just a tiny soldier… hehe-ow…”

In her curiosity, Cruithne barely registered the presence of a second aura, intent on tracking the man responsible for the first. And while she was really quite certain that the strangely uniformed man was lying when he said he wouldn't hurt her much, she still moved out of the shadows just enough to show herself. After all, he hadn't tried to do anything yet.

And the way he twisted himself followed by the pained groan decided her. Whatever and whoever he was, he was hurt. And if he was hurt, it was her duty to try and help him. Easing pain was the right thing to do.

Moving a little further into the dim light, she watched him with wide, wary blue eyes, ready to run at a moment's notice if need be.

"P-please, sir," she stammered. "Are you hurt? D-do you need help?"

After speaking, she could have slapped herself for idiocy. Of course he was hurt. Stupid! Quickly, before he could draw attention to her dumb question, she followed it with a nearly breathless, "What are you?"

He saw movement from the corner of his eye and seconds later, a Chibi senshi emerged from the shadows, part of her form still blanketed though she was simply too precious a senshi to find himself creeped out by the eerieness those shadows had on her. Not to mention the relief he felt, knowing that it was just a Chibi. Not that he's had any good run ins with them in the past, though it wasn't them he feared, but their little guardian angel. That damned Ganymede! She wasn't around- he could not sense her aura, but that didn't stop her from appearing last time. Maybe she had some motherly sick sense? A bat signal? It meant he'd have to play nice...

Not that he was in the best of physical conditions to try and rough up a Chibi, anyways. She had clearly seen his agony and was moved by it, and it took much of his strength and will power, meager as it was, to not want to openly laugh at her concern. Was she serious? Did she have no idea who, or what he was? Seconds later, she all but confirmed that, and he brought himself down to one knee, both to relieve the pain in his side and to not appear quite as menacing to the blue-eyed senshi. "Hurt? Yes. Help? Well, some things can't be helped, though I appreciate the offer. As for what am I? An injured man... injured, weak, and so very tired."

From where Sarras watched, the Cosmos page was still reeling from the sight of one so young decked in full sailor fuku, and what Benitoite had told him rung in his ears. The White Moon Court did enlist children, and apparently, they enlisted the really kind-hearted ones, as she could see the general's pain and looked to be buying every second of it. Perhaps Sarras was just the suspicious type, but to him, it could have all been an act, and the way he dropped to his knee and looked to be pleading to the child to get closer rung all sorts of warning bells in his head.

Still, he appeared distracted from the second presence, and even if he seemed genuine about his desire for help, Sarras couldn't just walk away from the situation. While the Chibi kept the Negaverse general distracted, he began his slow approach, tightening his hands into fists and ready to motion for silence if the Chibi senshi saw him. Maybe he did require medical help... and what better chance to take down the enemy when they were weak and vulnerable?

It may have been a dirty tactic, but this was war. What right did he have to question morality when his side already enlisted children? 'Good, keep him distracted...'

Cruithne wasn't completely stupid. She knew enough to stay just out of reach of the strangely dressed redhead. The aura he projected sent strange chills down her back, but he was hurt and she couldn't help but pity him. She wanted to help him, but she wasn't entirely sure how much help her magic might be in this case. Still...

"I c-can try t-to use m-my magic for you," she stammered uncertainly. "I-it's n-not very s-strong, but it m-might h-help?"

She wanted to say more, but the brightly dressed man approaching and signaling for silence startled her. While she didn't say anything, her eyes went wide as she focused on this newcomer. What was he doing? And why was he motioning for silence?

On a normal day, Buddingtonite would have weighed the options of letting the Chibi senshi have it. After all, he didn't immediately sense an Eternal senshi in the area and honestly, he knew the odds of Ganymede appearing to lay down the law on him tonight were slim. It wasn't like she was everywhere in the city, right? That was impossible, and Buddingtonite always considered himself a betting man. On a normal day, he'd reel his hand back and see how far she would fly, but today, that healing sounded... quite nice, actually.

His desire to drown out the pain was far greater than his utter disgust of children, as far as he was concerned, and he ventured closer and closer to her, in hopes of getting just a tiny bit of that magic. While the pain meds were working alright, he didn't need another addiction... "Aw, don't be scared... I'd appreciate that a lot."

So, because he needed some kind of relief for the aching in his side and could not even scratch the itching from the stitches, he would overcome his disgust of children... he had absolutely no intention of harming her as he drew close to her, though the one that came charging out of freakin' no where and rammed into him with a stiff shoulder apparently thought otherwise, sending the general flying back and the trashcans did little to soften the blow, though they did topple on top of him and kept him pinned for the moment.

Sarras had no idea who this officer was and had he known he held a great distate towards children, he would have likely stepped in sooner. The chibi's offer to heal him was a touching matter, but Sarras saw it as a golden opportunity to strike when the General seemed willing to accept it. Whether he was genuine in needing medical assistance or was simply using her kindness to lure her close enough to strike, it didn't matter to the Cosmos page, and the moment he was close, he made his assault. He rushed out and tackled the man, shoulder out and throwing all of his weight into his attack, and to his luck, it not only connected but it sent the rose-clad general flying, right into the garbage.

If the blow had rendered him unconscious, then they had a few moments to breathe before they decided their next course of action. Which was, for Sarras anyways, to grab the Chibi senshi and flee the premise. He recalled Bentioite's disgust of them and knew already that not all officers would be willing to spare the little ones a gruesome fate as he would, and he stood ready to fight, as he peered down at the Chibi senshi. "You really shouldn't be gettin' that close to a guy like that. You never ran into a Negaverse general before?"

He didn't mean to sound angry or disgusted with her, though he was sure he came off that way. Fearing he might have startled her, he tried to change his tone though he was certain he was doing a poor job. "You alright?"

Very few people ever saw Liliana or Cruithne when she wasn't a stuttering mess. Family, her coven, one or two trusted friends. It was easier for her to stay inside her shell and do her best to simply keep out of the way. She knew that all that would have to change the moment that stupid talking cat had shown up and turned her into a magical terrorist. Up until now, she'd managed to avoid the uglier side of this whole magical war mess by hiding or sensibly staying home.

And now, it looked like the Lady had just decided that Cruithne wasn't allowed to stay on the sidelines anymore. She heard herself shrieking a little as the brightly clad man suddenly tackled the other and sent him flying. Cringing and covering her mouth with both hands like a stereotypical damsel, Cruithne stared up at the man, part of her brain registering the disgust in his voice as he stopped to deliver the shortest lecture she'd ever heard.

The softer tone he used to ask if she was all right grated against her nerves and something inside snapped. How dare this... this idiot charge in like he did! Cruithne straightened to her full and hardly impressive height of 5' (hoping all the while that she'd get a growth spurt soon so people would stop treating her like an idiot kid) and balled her hands into fists. Pale blue eyes flashed with anger as she took a few steps to place herself between her "rescuer" and the pile of garbage where he'd sent the other flying.

"What is wrong with you," she spat back, stutter forgotten in the face of overwhelming anger. "He was hurt, you imbecile! I don't care if he was a... a Negaverse General! He needed help and you just attacked him for no reason! I... I," Cruithne hesitated for a moment, fiery anger quickly becoming replaced by rising fear. Still. She couldn't let this person do anymore damage. "I won't let you hurt him any more. I... I'll fight you i-if I have t-to."

The Cosmos page wasn't sure what he was witnessing. He wanted to praise himself for not only managing to get the drop on a Negaverse general but he had sent the a*****e flying, but the reaction he got from the young senshi definitely took him by surprise.

"What's wrong with me? What's wrong with you?" Sarras snapped back, forgetting about the officer that laid motionless just a few feet away and turning his crimson gaze down to her. Despite her short stature compared to him, she was menacing in her own right, but Sarras could not stop himself from firing back, ignoring the fact that he was arguing with a pre-teen as he sneered. "Who's to say it wasn't just an act to cause you to drop your guard? He's a Negaverse general. He didn't get to his rank by playin' nice with little kids."

He wasn't sure which of the two surprised him more- her being genuinely angry with him, or her threatening to fight him, and he could only stare in disbelief as she went to stand between them. "Are you serious? You're really willin' to fight me for a guy that was seconds away from strikin' you down?"

Buddingtonite wasn't sure exactly what had hit him, or how long he had been unconscious, if he even was unconscious at all, but when he finally came around, he was pretty damn pissed. By now, the pain had reawakened throughout his body and no amount of painkillers could dull it, and he let out a pained and angered groan as he kicked one of the trashcans off of him. One kick was followed by another, and through rather violent thrashing, the Negaverse general finally pulled himself from his small prison, garbage lingering on his uniform and the odor would cling to his form for days to come, even when his uniform was sent away. The reawakening of the pain, as well as the insult to him, had forged a scowl onto his paled face, and he glared at the Chibi and the page that had seemingly appeared out of no where.

Had he regained consciousness of his surroundings seconds earlier, he might have heard the Chibi senshi's angry shouts and had known better, but would anyone have blamed him for assuming that all of this was a ploy to lower his defenses?

They're getting smarter. Or you're getting dumber, Buddy.

He produced his bladed boomerang and sneered, giving both of them a fair warning before he reeled the weapon back and threw it towards them. "Using a child as bait? Oh... aren't you two the clever ones!"

Cringing a little, but still determined to try her best to stand her ground, Cruithne shivered a little at the angry sneer directed at her.

"Y-you don't know t-that!" she countered. "P-people can't fake b-being hurt that bad!"

Tears were leaking out of her eyes now, thought whether they were from anger, fear or some other emotion she couldn't tell. She only knew that she needed this strange, brilliantly clad man to understand.

"H-healers can't t-take sides," she said softly. "T-they s-shouldn't. He n-needed help..."

Whatever else she was about to say was interupted by a startled yelp as the General behind her spoke and then slung a bladed boomerang towards her and the other man.

Oh bollocks...

Had there not been a bladed boomerang whizzing through the air towards her, he would have rather enjoyed the moment to gloat about how right he was, even if it came off as extremely rude and childish to argue such a thing with, well, a kid. He tried not to let that thought get to his head too much, and if Benitoite were here, he would have pitched a fit and a half. Even if they possessed some form of magic, a kid was a kid and had no place on the battlefield, and now it was even more than obvious.

Had he been a total d**k, he might have simply let her take the hit or left her to dodge the attack on her own, then chided how it was foolish of her to fall for such an obvious trick. Yet, he wasn't a total d**k, or so he told himself, as he rushed forward to grab her and move her out of the way. What he got for it was one of the blades digging into his side and the Cosmos page collapsed to his side in front of Cruithne, forgetting for a moment that there was a child present and letting out a loud string of curses. "Gah, sonofabitch, you little s**t..."

It was unclear to whom he was addressing, but he pressed a hand to his side, feeling blood rising from the gash and immediately seeking to stop it, even through sheer willpower alone. He let out a pained gasp, looking back at Cruithne to see if she had taken a hit, hoping that his 'noble sacrifice' would not have been for naught. "The ******** did I say?"

There was something extremely satisfying about watching his boomerang cut through flesh, but even more satisfying when it was his enemy's flesh. Especially cocky, arrogant, jerkish Cosmos pages, and Buddingtonite spared a moment to chuckle at the page's predicament as he held out his hand. "You know, I was totally fine with letting her help, but nah... changed my mind now. I feel a whole lot better already, though, so I suppose a thanks is in order."

Yes, seeing someone else in pain and bleeding and not him always cheered him up, and Buddingtonite caught the boomerang when it came back, bracing for the momentum of the twirling blades and knowing to grab it from its center instead. What he failed to do, though, was remember that he had to catch it with his good hand, and there was nothing he could do to stop himself from hissing when the weapon caused a jolt of pain to rock his hand and arm. Unlike the crash Cosmos page, however, he didn't curse, and he switched hands, preparing the reel the weapon back again and taking aim at the Chibi senshi now that the page was taken care of. "Now, I'll give you a chance to run, but you better be quick. I have good range on this thing..."

Fortunately for her physical well-being, the strange page moved quickly. She was shoved out of the way and stumbled, falling on one knee as the page collapsed before her. Under any other circumstances, she would have tartly told him that such language was unneccesary. Given that she could see the blood seeping from his side to stain his uniform... well. Reprimanding him for language didn't seem so important.

Dropping fully to her knees beside him, she clumsily wiped away the tears that were spilling from her eyes.

"I-i'm s-sorry, I'm s-sorry," she murmured even as she was trying to figure out what to do. He'd been hurt because of her. This whole mess was, well, it wasn't entirely her fault. But she had a fair share of blame. And she didn't have a lot of time.

Closing her eyes, she clasped her hands before her before whispering, "L-lavender's Sweet Peace!"

She stayed still for the breath it took for the smoke to move from her to the page. She only had a few seconds left.

"R-run. L-let me d-distract him and t-then run!"

Giving the page another tearfully apologetic look, she turned in time to hear the General's words and swallowed hard. She only had one shot at this and she had to make it count. Staring unblinkingly at the bladed boomerang, Cruithne got slowly to her feet and made as if to run like a frightened rabbit.

Except she turned quickly to race directly at the general, hoping that he'd be surprised enough to be a little slow. It was unlikely, but it was the best she could hope for.

There was something worth while in getting to utter the phrase 'told you so', and if there was anyone that enjoyed that feeling more than Sarras, it would have probably been Richard. However, that feeling was lost on him when he had to deal with the Chibi senshi's gut-wrenching reaction. Though he was the one left on the ground with blood seeping from his wound, he felt as though he owed her an apology for making her cry so, and that drove him nuts. "s**t, stop... stop with the waterworks, I'll be alright..."

Which wasn't necessarily true, if he didn't get himself to a doctor. He didn't get a good look at the wound but he knew it was probably pretty deep, and the sadistic grin on the general's face told him that it probably wasn't a pretty sight either. Thankfully, his worsening condition worked in their favor, as one look at his enemy told him that he was getting rather smug, arrogant... and that they could use that against him. It may not have been much, but it was something...

But then, the strangest thing happened. Cruithne pressed her hands against the wound and forced a pained hiss out of him, but before he could push her away or even raise his voice in objection, she muttered what he suspected were the words of her magic, and the scent of lavender hit his senses. The wound never closed, but the pain subsided some, and Sarras could feel his muscles relaxing, allowing him to breathe easier. He didn't mean to look a gift horse in the mouth, but he couldn't stop himself from grumbling. "Thanks... but is now really the time..."

He was going to say 'heroics' and mean it in an ironic way, but then he watched as she turned around and ran-- TOWARDS THE GENERAL. Her magic may not have closed his wounds, but it managed to give him the strength he needed to push himself back up to his feet despite the wound and run after her. Like hell he was going to let some child sacrifice herself to save him! "No, no, little lady NO!"

Buddingtonite was pleased as pie-- initially, anyway, but it wasn't meant to last long. He knew that others in his ranks wouldn't approve of him terrorizing a Chibi so, and the knowledge that the frilly vixen could descend at any moment to put a halt to his plans made him hesitant to approach either of them, but still, he was thoroughly enjoying himself for the time being.

In response to her tears, he let out a low cackle, trying to will pack his own pain and saunter forward, knowing that he probably looked more crazed than menacing given his stance, but he played along with it anyway. Sometimes crazy was scary... "Well, you know, maybe if you senshi and knights minded your own BUSINESS, maybe I wouldn't have to be this way, hm? You should be getting along, little senshi... battlefields aren't meant for little pipsqueaks like you."

Ugh... cliche.

"Shut up. Stop crying!" Buddingtonite sneered, edging closer and closer and suddenly startled when she was running directly at him. He didn't see her use her magic on the knight behind her and did not hear what her plan was, so when she took off running, he swore she was taking his advice. He was wrong, and he wasn't prepared for it. He took a step back and immediately regret it, as the sudden jerking movement caused his barely closed wound to ignite with pain, and he let out a startled yelp, raising his hand to throw his boomerang but certain he'd miss horribly when he let it go. "What in the hell are you doing?! Back off!"

Cruithne hadn't thought of testing her physical limits before. She knew she was stronger, faster when powered up. She could jump higher. Jump...

Her blue eyes glinted with hard satisfaction that she'd guessed so well that her running at the General would startle him. Ignoring the yells of both men, she concentrated solely on what she needed to do.

And what she needed to do was jump. There was an old safety ladder clinging to the side of the building just behind the General. Jump over him, get to the ladder and run as far and as fast as she could. Sucking in a deep gulp of air, she jumped just as he threw the boomerang and felt it skim across her leg. Gasping in pain, she lost focus and when she landed, it was hard and graceless. Rolling back to her feet, she cast a frightened glance over her shoulder before forcing herself to run for the ladder and shimmying up as quickly as she could.

Once on the roof, she forced herself to race across before leaping down into a different street. She couldn't stay powered up though. As soon as she hit the ground, she whispered a soft prayer that no one was nearby and powered down.

Only then did she curl up on herself, sobbing hoarsely as the pain in her leg told her that the boomerang had done more than simply scrape her. She was bleeding, and the cut on her leg might need stitches, she didn't know. She needed a doctor and those were in scant supply. Grimacing, she fished the cell phone that her parents insisted she carry out and called her father. She'd figure out what lie to tell him when he got here.

"I hope the knight got away," she muttered to herself. At least for now, it was all she could do about it. Sighing, she hobbled to a bench nearby and sat down to wait for her father to show up.

He had ran after her, suspecting that the general would simply cut her down the moment she got close, but it seemed that the general was just as surprised as he himself was, as his eyes suddenly went wide and he backed away, too panicked to get a clear shot at either one of them. The boomerang flew from his hands a second time that night, and Sarras watched as it grazed against her leg but only enough to leave only a scratch, nothing as terrible as Sarras's gaping wound. Still, the sight of her rushing towards her death terrified him, but thankfully, she jumped into the air and landed over the edge of the building behind them and keeping the general's attention on her. That was Sarras's moment to strike, and he struck hard!

For a second time that evening, he rammed into the officer, bracing his shoulder and throwing him back against the wall with so much force that he swore it'd take the building down with him. Sarras wasted little time, skidding to a halt and then backing away, taking advantage of the senshi's magic and using his remaining strength to make his own escape. He hated to flee from an enemy like this, but what choice did he have? He felt no aura from the chibi anymore and assumed she managed to escape, and Buddingtonite wasn't getting up, so if he didn't leave now, then there wouldn't be a better opening.

His instincts screamed at him to stay, to finish the fight, but he could already feel the effects wearing off. Soon, it would hurt to much to continue and he couldn't risk the officer playing dead. He had to leave, had to check the hospital to make sure his brother was alright. He spat in the general's direction, and fled. With his luck, he'd run into this a*****e again sometime... he was sure of it.

The knight was wise to flee when he did. When Buddingtonite's senses came back to him, he let out an angered and pained scream, reaching out to grab a person that was no longer there, and he watched as the knight disappeared into the distance, ducking away into the furthest alley at the furthest end of the street. He had been rendered unconscious, but not for long... long enough for both prey to escape.

"Dammit..." He groaned, trying to pry himself from the Buddingtonite shaped crater that he was likely in and slumping onto the ground as he did so. By this time, even the strength granted to him by Zinkenite was not enough, as he felt his uniform shift into his hospital gown. "Oh well... at least I was spared THIS indignity..."

Though it wasn't much. Not only had he been beaten down by a Chibi and a ridiculous looking knight, a page, no less, but now he would have to think of a way to sneak back into the hospital, without Boaz, Nyasa or Krishna catching him. "******** it... I'll deal with it later."

So, right there in the alley, with his back propped the building, he drifted to sleep, accepting the possibility of becoming someone else's victim or being caught by the police and issued a citation. A night in the slammer had to be better than the indignity he'd suffer being returned to the hospital in this state...
