Pirates, usually they are the outcasts of society. The ones neglected and ignored, wounded souls who only see the sea as an escape. Or at least some are. Others choose the life because something with their current just doesn’t feel right. Some just love the sea. Others are just born into the life. No matter how you fall into the life you gain a family, even if it is a dysfunctional one.
In the post apocalyptic world piracy thrives. Old world artifacts are in high demand and pirates take advantage of this high demand. They go out into the dangerous lands and procure such artifacts for their clients. Of course they have to face the dangers of the post apocalyptic world to do so. Be it mutated monsters on land or at sea, other pirates after the money, the struggling government clinging to the last vestiges of the old world ideals, or even the recently emerging magic and mutations sprouting up in people all over. The world is not a safe one for anyone.

The Phoenix Pirates are a small, struggling group just trying to make a living. The larger bands of pirates tend to get the contracts, leaving little for such a small group working out of a small old world ship with next to no armaments save its metal plating. It is rumored that the captain is a wanted man and has some sort of strange power over fire. Not much is known about him or the other members of the crew but when they have tangled with some of the other larger bands of pirates they have come out on top.

Recent rumors speak of a lost old world ship filled with old world weapons, the perfect target for a band of pirates. This could be the Phoenix Pirates’ big chance, if they can survive the dangers and even manage to locate the ship. Other pirates, mutants, and vicious storms await you all. Heave Ho lads and lasses and prepare yourselves for a treacherous voyage into the unknown.

Powers/Abilities(not needed if normal): She can read minds unless the person has a natural shield.

Personality: Cold, harsh, reckless, intelligent, brave, wild, sometimes melancholy or depressed.

Weapon(s): Usually a cutlass that she keeps on her belt and sometimes a knife if she’s been disarmed. She prefers up close and personal so doesn’t ever use guns.

Skills: Swordplay, hand to hand combat, interrogation.

Background: Ember was in jail when the captain of the Phoenix Pirates found her. She never told him why she was there. In fact she’s never said much about her past. From the depressions she can sometimes fall into though it’s obvious she’s had a rough life. She tends to keep to herself really and snaps at those kind to her. She even uses their own thoughts and memories to drive them away from her. Despite everything though she’s loyal to the Phoenix Pirates and would never betray them.

Powers and Abilities: Kirko has a degraded form of Telekinesis. He has just acquired it and the desperate struggle to keep it hidden from the crew has been a compacting problem.

Personality: Does not take kindly to newcomers and trusting of those close to him.

Weapon(s): Kirko has elusive detachable claws, they aid him in close encounters. His infantry also consists of a short sword and a flintlock rifle.

Skills: Piracy and smuggling.

Background: Kirko lived on the Jeptha Maree, the aircraft that scrounged him up from the desolate sand dunes. Being a thief, he stole many of their possessions. The crew made it apparent they’d already known of his past and gave no regard. Their only objective was to harvest his Telekinesis. The conversation resulted in a broken bottle with a jagged end attached, with intent to kill the men who wanted his power. “That’s not gonna happen!” he opposed. He was now bent up against the wall with a chipped tooth and a scarred lip, implying he’d fought well but not hard enough. Now, it was night and against his personal will, strapped to a chair. He fought it but the force of three men was overwhelming. They prepared themselves to harvest but a loud crack broke through dawn making an intrusion of the ship. Men filtered out of the other aircraft, blasting the men away from an inspection table with a varied arsenal. One man dipped his cigarette and Kirko nodded with a slight cough. The man let out a stream of smoke and paused, "Who the hell are you?" Kirko nervously looked around only to find deceased bodies, he was the only one. The man let out a slight chuckle at his ignorance but he ignored it. "My name is Kirko," he mumbled.
