21. You locate a perfectly round, enormous boulder. It is exactly what Never Idle needs--but you're going to need help to uproot and move it. Help required. Success!
kiss of death
Gathering items was nothing new to Kiss. She got used to her routine of starting the day early and look for dead carcasses with her ramcat while half the swamp was still asleep. If there are small birds with broken ribs, her familiar would end its life quickly.
She strolled through the muddy path and came upon a sturdy looking boulder. One that looked like it could hold itself well since it was so round and all. but.... a thing this big was impossible to move with just her strength alone. She would need help from another kin to get the momentum going first and then run along with the boulder as it rolls its way towards Never Idle's place.
Kiss looked around and whistled loudly. Someone is bound to hear her call this early in the morning.

Well now. That wasn't a birdcall, not that sharp and not that shrill. Indulging his curiosity, Smoulder followed the sound through the swamp, until he found the doe responsible. He exhaled, amused, barely audible in the early morning quiet, and relaxed a hind hoof into a camped position. "Something you needed or are you just whistling for fun?

Kiss of Death turned around to see who it was that started to talk to her. Her whistling actually worked. A devious smile spread across her face as she admired the buck's markings from head to tail. Quite handsome, but she won't tell him that. "Hello~" she cooed. "I think I got just what I wanted from all the whistling," she said, and waved a hoof over at Smoulder to come closer as she leaned against the boulder's smooth cold surface.
"See this boulder? I need it to start rolling on its own." She looked at him and blinked slowly. "If you haven't heard, Never Idle is up and at it again. They say that something big will happen this time."
Kiss tilted her head sideways this time. "Be a dear and help me out?"
Samuel Carlin thank you for helping out!

If she was going to be casual, he could too. He straightened and stretched as he headed toward her and the rock. "I see it," he agreed. How could he miss a rock that size? "Hadn't heard about whatever Never Idle's up to, but I wasn't asking around, either."Still, a pretty doe wanting his help? Smoulder wasn't the sort to refuse. "But you tell me which direction to push, I'll push." He leaned into the boulder, ready to go.

She knew she heard it correctly but didn't believe what was being said.
Death wanted to know why he had not heard of Never Idle and his bizarre projects. Did no one whisper to him about it? That question could be answered later... or never. If it's meant to be, they would run into one another again. "I see. Maybe I could tell you about him next time," she noted with a playful wink.
She shifted her weight to her front legs and made room for the buck to stand beside her. "Come closer and position yourself like this~" Her hind hooves were propped against the boulder. It may look strange but it was the same position as bucking apples off of a tree.
Death waited a while for the buck to prepare himself first, and together they had started to push against the boulder. It rocked back and forth at first, but eventually, it started to roll.
"Thank you for the help!" she called out to the buck as she left him behind, and quickly chased after the boulder to guide it back to Idle's place.

19. You hear Never Idle chiding you in a strangely metallic voice: "Work faster! Work faster!" But then you realize it's only a mocking-raven, who must have grown up near the stag's place of business.
Death had delivered the boulder back at Idle's place without breaking it into bits. Sweat dropped down her forehead from the constant pushing and running to bring this thing back to where it was needed.
As she had bent down to quench her thirst from a puddle of water at the stag's place, she heard a warped voice that sounded strangely like Never Idle. He was shouting at her to work faster. Startled, got back up and looked around. The stag was nowhere in sight except for a black raven that sat snugly on top of a branch. It was then that she witnessed the word came out of that bird's beak.
She almost believed it was Idle shouting at her too, if the bird wasn't in plain view for her to notice it. "Don't tell me what to do bird. I'll have my ramcat take your life if you mock me one more time." Death scoffed and stormed off in a bad mood.

13. You hear the sound of wings startled up when you enter this clearing, but there is no bird to be seen--only a strange shift in the light, as though a thin cloud had passed over the sun although the sky is clear.
Death wandered into a clearing to blow off steam and heard the sound of flapping wings. "Don't you dare follow me, bird!" she threatened the raven without looking back and continued to stomp with heavy footsteps forward. Still angry, she only shrugged at the strange shift in lighting as she walked through the clearing. She had no interest in it.

Again, the words 'work faster' was being heard over and over again. The mock raven was indeed following her, she was sure of it now.
Death's throat produced an angry growl as turned herself around and glared into the shadows. "Stop doing that, bird!" She knew her empty threats were futile as the raven continued to produce the same two words over and over.
Her anger never left her and she tried to ignore the raven as she wandered further into clearing.

16. A smooth, sunbleached lynx skull lies in a clearing.
As she walked a few more steps, her foot had hit against a lynx skull amongst the grass. Death looked down and gave a devious smile, showing her maw. This, this is exactly what she wanted to see of the mock raven. End its life and leave it there to decay until all that there is left is its skeleton glistening in the sunlight.

25. You had every intention of bringing this perfect fallen fruit back to Never Idle, but temptation won out, and you ate it yourself. Way to go.
Death ended up crossing paths with an apple tree with ripened fruits after she got out of the clearing. She helped herself to a few apples that fell onto the ground. Some started to ferment due to its ripeness.
After she had her fill, she picked another one up with her maw and kept it sticking out of her mouth. It was quite tempting to try and resist such delicious sweet apples.
The doe stood there and could smell the sweet fruit in her mouth. Saliva trickled out of her mouth and dripped onto the ground. Before she could even move herself toward Never Idle's direction, she ate the apple. There was just no way she could make it back there again without eating the sweet thing.

20. You stumble on a friend and get distracted talking (either invite someone in for a few posts, or use one of your other Kin or an NPC).
Death knew these ripened fruits won't only attract other kin, but also reptiles, insects, and amphibians. She wanted to leave but got distracted as something obese came into view...

*Using a NPC.

A plump round figure made its way over to he smell of ripe fruits on the ground. Eyes bulging it twitched a few times as it scanned the surrounding. With a loud croak, it crawled forward. Its skin looked terribly ill and no one dared to snatch and eat the toad as a tasty snack in case it was poisonous.

* i hope one sided chatter is okay since the toad can't speak
The doe noticed the sickly red pimples on its back and walked a step backward to stay out of its way. "Here to eat these things too huh?" she snarled at the ugly toad.

The toad looked at the ripened fruit and stretched out its small short front legs at it trying to grab onto it. With the slime on its skin, it kept slipping away. Since that didn't work, the toad rose up on its hind legs and sprung toward the fruit with a splat sound and clung on.
The toad opened its mouth and croaked loudly at the meti doe, and kept its mouth open. It turned its body a bit and proceeded to swallow the fruit in one go...

Death had enough of the revolting sight before her and kicked another ripened fruit toward the nasty looking toad.
"You eat your fill. I am glad I had eaten some of these delicious fruits before you came. A thing like you could make anyone lose their appetite........"
