She had no idea who this Christ guy was, but hey, he had a weapon? Good enough for her. Texting him that he'd been summoned to arrive at her rented office with his weapon in a golem, Solia hoped for something special. Somethings amazing. Maybe this guy would have some decent data, something new she could sink her teeth into. Or maybe just be cute. She'd deal with that okay too. But mostly she was hoping for the data.

This was... bizarre.
Chris couldn't stop side eyeing his weapon - well.. partner. She wasn't exactly a weapon right now - as they walked towards the office for their appointment. This was the first time he'd ever seen her as she'd look in Halloween, and he couldn't really handle it.
She had a tail. Not even like a cute kitty tail. It was a menacing black scorpion tail that gleaming threateningly under the fluorescent lighting of the facility. Everything about her was jet black, for that matter, her skin to her rounded lion ears. It was completely at contrast with her bright blue eyes and short white dress.
"Stop looking at me," she said, quiet but no meek. She opened the door to the office, clearly looking judgmental because he was too out of it to do so himself. "You're acting ridiculous."
When they were both standing in front of Solia, Ava was the picture of composure, while Chris looked out of his depth.

Solia saw them enter and- "Good day!" She motioned for them to come, to sit. "I hope today was a good time to request the interview- its hard with trainees being pulled all over at a moment's notice. Solia, Solia Delacroix." She was feeling good, the past interviews going well. "So.. what are you exactly? Erm, and who! I only have data on your boy their, but not a whole lot on you I'm afraid." Brown eyes looked to the weapon. "Your stinger is very big by the way- I'm impressed."

Chris sat down immediately and watched Ava carefully position herself on a chair so her tail wasn't trapped. It was weird. "I'm Chris, this is Ava," he said, tearing his eyes away from his weapon and turning to Solia.
Ava preened a bit under the praise, flicking her hair back and giving a wicked smile. "Thank you, it is quite impressive isn't it? I'm a manticore, we're a monster species."
"She's also egocentric," Chris interjected. "Probably best not to stroke her too much." Ava shot him a scathing glare and he shrugged. "Truth hurts."istoleyurvamps what do you mean this is late? nonsense

Oh, Solia liked her. Egos were good- they tended to talk about themselves. Or they were closed and stuff in which case she could just talk to the hunter. That worked too. "Manticore huh? Neat! Man eaters if I recall." She gave Chris a grin. "Well you picked a good one from what I can tell. Speaking of, how did you pick him, what drew you to this work, to being a weapon?"

Ava ran her tongue along her teeth in response. Man-eater indeed. Chris looked vaguely uncomfortable with the gesture.
"That's two different questions, I guess. I picked him because he was different. Cliche, I guess, but he wasn't just the usual fresh face. He moved and felt different, like he hadn't just been a baby-faced scareling on his first day of school." She turned her head and gave Chris a long, calculating look. "I couldn't let him end up with someone else," she purred.
Chris rested his chin on his knuckles and shrugged. "I came out of the military," he clarified. He didn't know how that had shown when he'd first walked into the cove - he had always imagined he looked like a confused idiot. Apparently it made a difference, though. He wondered if she'd felt similarly drawn to the other military-recruited hunters.
"The answer to the second part is... more complicated, I guess. But mostly it came down to Deus offering me an informed decision. I like to know what I'm risking my tail for."

Solia didn't mind the motion Ava made, but rather grinned, and waited for answers and explanations, writing everything down. "Different? That's good. Having something special with your hunter helps with the bond. Supposedly. Anyway, you like the rough and tumble boys huh? Can't blame you." She looked Chris up and down. "Good choice I think!" She didn't even address the hunter, just his weapon. "Informed- would you say it's worth it? This life? Anything you regret or wish was different?" Then she looked at Chris again. "Except for maybe having the guys go shirtless. I think that would be good." What was focus.

Chris was feeling vaguely objectified here. He gave a sort of smug smirk, but it didn't have his usual confidence. It was hard to feel confident when he had no control on this conversation.
Ava hummed and shrugged. "I always know what's happening, at least as much as he does, and that's important. I know why I'm here, I know my purpose, and I'm not kept in the dark about why we're stepping through portals all the time. That's more than I was offered in Halloween," she said with an angry twitch of her tail. "I wish I could be this more often," she gestured to her golem form, "rather than a weapon limited to his headspace. He's dull sometimes."
If she looked like a sad puppy for a second, it was all a front. Don't trust her, Solia.
"Becoming a weapon was a heavy consequence for the side I chose."

It was okay Chris, you were handsome. Just bask in the gazes of two sweet innocent ladies. Who could kill you but hey no big deal. Minor details. "I see. So, would you say information plays a key part in you being a weapon, in being content?" She jolted down something, looking at the tail before writing more. "If you want to be a golem- Chris can let you out as he likes. Some hunters use the golems as rewards or bargaining chips. Others just let their weapons out routinely. Do you think that being able to be in a golem helps make being a weapon more bearable? Palatable?" Looking to Chris she grinned. "You should let her out more often though- it's healthy!"
