She had cleaned and gotten the place ready for her next guest when her phone had rung. Yes, she was still going on that mission, no she hadn't forgotten her duties. She was in the middle of her interviews. Look she was busy-

She wasn't all together paying attention to anyone who might have come in, but was rather pleased with the turn out thus far. A nice basic group. A good block of basic data. A few more, then sprinklings here and there of others- kee her records up to date and on file.

Snapping her phone shut she sighed, sitting down to wait for the next interview party- Melvin and his weapon. Bodily fluids.

Melvin was all for anyone doing research that could later benefit the island or some further project down the road. What he didn't like was when he had to let Saliva out of her small realm of control and out and about to talk to other people rather than just him. Saliva talking to other people when her world was limited to him and his own personal thoughts was just a bad idea. He just hoped that they stuck to scientific questions and that Saliva would then shut up about being pent up for a while. Give her a treat once in a while and he hoped she'd be more grateful.

The stout woman walked beside him as they entered the room. Saliva already was walking around, picking up things and adjusting her odd foreign hat. He really needed to read up on Mongolian culture more.

"We're here for our appointment." He stated and went over to take a seat.

Too bad for Melvin, the entire process for which Solia would need to gather data relied on the ability to communicate directly with weapons. So, with Saliva it was. "Hello Melvin!" Solia greeted armly. Motioning to the chairs, she stood and offered her hand towards the woman she assumed was the weapon. "Solia, as likely you know. It's a pleasure to meet you!" To Melvin She grinned. "I have coffee and things over on the back desk if you want. The interview shouldn't be too long- maybe 30 tops."

She mad laid out a few things to keep hunters occupied if they wished. A rubik's cube, a small wooden sculpture puzzle, a cooking magazine, a fashion one, the New York Times from two days ago- it was what she could find.

"Shall we get started or is there anything I should know before I start our session?"

Melvin remained seated, checked his phone, and then pocketed it. He had time to spar at the moment and could offer her an hour if need be. He didn't like having Saliva out and about too long. She was a talker and often liked to run off without him noticing. This was only for science and to help others with their research and nothing more.

"Just refrain from asking too many personal questions. Saliva likes to - get into details."

"Pah! You are just uptight and don't like to say a word. That's your problem. That's probably why you only have one girlfriend." The stout woman said, moving over to the desk and sitting on the corner of it, picking up a fashion magazine off the table and flipping through the pages. "Go and start." She said.

Solia gave Melvin a sad look. It would be personal, given the natural of a weapon being personal. No secrets, she'd have to dig in, go deeper, if she wanted to get the most of things. "I will try, but I cannot offer a guarantee. Conversations can go into tangents but I will do my best to keep us on track."

Clicking her pen, Solia smiled at the golem in the room, already jolting a few notes down. "I don't wish to be rude, but for the interview, it will help if we're speaking face to face. That said... Let's just start with the standards. Name, species, and what your first memory is. The first.. thing you can recall about your existence, good or bad."

She smiled as warmly as she could, hoping the short plump golem wouldn't prove as difficult as Melvin's body and verbal language suggested.

Saliva paused in flipping her magazine at the questions, finding the twiggy models uninteresting and the bulky but lean males not all pleasing. Some were far too slender and too like a girl that she sneered at them and tossed the magazine aside. She picked up the puzzle box next.

"Saliva. Mongolian Death Worm, though it's just Death Worm where I come from. My first memory.....hmm.." She stared at the box, turning pieces over as she dived into a memory. "Incense and a rug. I remember laying on a lush carpet and watching the smoke from the incense burn."

Melvin looked over at Saliva. In their time together, he didn't talk much about Saliva's past. It was gone, and it mattered nothing to their relationship. She was a tool and a creature he would have sooner killed if he met her in another situation. He never really bothered to ask about her home life or what had been.

Solia could have sighed with relief if not for the fact that she was still too focused on writing down every little detail. "Thank you. Alright Miss Saliva, now that we have out basis let's get down to business." She hoped the tiny disney joke wouldn't offend. Solia had simply thought it cute.. even if a second after saying it she made the mental connection that Huns and Mongolia and there might have been issues there.

"You seem like your relationship with Melvin isn't one built on the same ideals I've seen from other weapons. Can you tell me, do have any idea why you might have become a weapon? Any strong emotional lingering or thoughts as to why you've chosen this path of existence? Why you chose him in particular?"

Solia looked to Melvin, mouthing a small 'sorry' while lifting her notes. It was something that did tie into her data and research.

Melvin looked up just as Solia mouthed her sorry and then took out his phone, checking twitter to entertain himself. None of the questions were directed at him, but he would glance up every once in a while to make sure everything was being kept on a tight leash. Saliva was a libability he didn't like having walk around and walking too often if he could avoid it. He did it to keep her quiet, for testing, and for other small uses. Other than that, she was best locked away in his mind only.

Saliva continued working her box, inspecting it from different angles and soon growing bored with it too. She let it slide off her hand and fall with a clatter on the desk before picking up the cooking magazine.

"I don't know.....maybe I was just curious. Can't say much about back then. I'm here now. Why not talk about that?" She said, not caring to discuss the topic.

She flipped through the magazine and made a face. "Your food looks disgusting at times. Like this... What the hell is that?" She showed the open magazine to Melvin, who glanced up from his phone.

"Tuna Casserole." He said.

"What the heck is a Tuna? Is it some slime?"

She turned the magazine around and flipped the page.

"It's a fish." He told her, and glanced back down at his phone.

"You don't need to be eating fish." She advised him, flipping the pages.

"You didn't answer everything." He told her.

Saliva looked up and then looked at Solia, forgetting her all together for a moment until now. "Oh. I don't know. He was there. I just woke up and he was there and I don't know why it just seemed like it was a good idea at the time. I honestly was probably tired of being a brick."

"I was a pity hunter?" He said, looking up at her. Not hurt, just waiting for confirmation.

"You don't have the makeup of a first choice." She pointed at his overall build and flicked her magazine, giving Melvin a smile. "Really don't have the raw magnetism I go for."

"Can't argue with that." He said, looking back at his phone and looking back at Solia for her to continue.

Solia felt herself pondering the types of questions she was asking as she asked them. While it might have been data gathering it was also a form of her own training. To read others, to assess and think how to act, what to say, what to do. Solia had to learn what drove people away and what pulled them closer. Mistakes drove people away. Success could pull them in and provide information. Feels had to be set aside.

She liked Melvin. He'd always rather been polite to her, and though he had his outbursts, she'd never thought ill of him for them. He'd just been acting human. Emotionally.
Yet Saliva wasn't human.
Solia shouldn't treat her under the lense of her human counterpart. And ask they talked she realized that not all weapon partners were to be asked with the idea they were well matched.

"Fair enough. We'll talk of now...." She sat straighter, trying to properly word her inquiry. "If he wasn't first pick... why keep him alive?" Solia maintained her tone, even and as neutral as possible. "It's well documented that recently woken weapons can and do often remain 'awake' even after a recent hunter's death--due to quickly finding a new partner. If he isn't the ideal partner why not dispose yourself of him and choose someone who'd better fit your desires?"

Solia held her breath, unsure if her gamble in invasive and blunt questioning would yield anything.

Saliva just stared at this girl and then looked at Melvin. "This girl wants to off you for me." She smiled and looked at Solia. "I know I'm really great, but damn. Though I do like your spirit."

"She isn't doing a business offering here, Saliva. She's asking a serious question." Melvin corrected, looking at the curvy Mongolian and about a second away from facepalming at her ego.

"Oh well, I don't know about weapons changing ship. I just woke up and now I'm working. I'm trying to whip this sad sack-of-Jack into shape to be useful. The idea of training another loser from the start just seems exhausting. Anyways, we got a thing going." She paused and looked to Melvin. "Right?"

"I guess 'a thing' is the best thing you can call it." He said back, dryly.

"You know, you are making the whole changing ship thing seem a lot more appealing every time you talk." She said.

He smiled back at her. "Then you can harass someone else with your terrible singing."

"My singing is a gift to Halloween-kind." She huffed back, picking up the puzzle trap from the desk and throwing it at the hunter. Melvin covered his face as it hit him and fell to the ground.

Solia had to hide her smile behind her clipboard at Saliva’s remark. “I am afraid he is right Miss Saliva. I already has Israfel I am afraid, and he takes up a lot of headspace. I don’t know if he could handle the company. Though, he’d love to talk to you sometime, and perhaps sing with you. He’s always sad that I won’t wing with him, my own voice being quite atrocious.” She set her notes down, giving Melvin and tiny smile before focusing back onto his weapon.

“Convenience then, and time together. Both good reasons to remain bonded. So in theory, if Melvin were to die what would you do? Wait for another hunter? Mourn? Or just take the next good looking guy who walked into the cove?” She bit her lip.
“I’m sorry it’s so morbid but these question really do serve a purpose, I promise.”

Saliva smiled. "Good-looking guy? You think Melvin is good looking?" She looked over to the Lifer and then to Solia. "Should I leave you two alone?"

Melvin pressed two fingers to his temple to rub his brow as a headache was starting to come on. He was, however, a bit interested in hearing why Solia had said that. Then again, it wasn't with serious interest to pursue. He was with Rin after all.

"Please, just...just answer her question." He pleaded with his weapon.

"Fine. Fine. Just trying to help you out. You have all those people in groups sleeping around. Thought I'd expand your choices. You should try a harem. My kind does it all the time." She said, having no shame flaunting this choice of lifestyle.

"Hmm. i guess if Melvin ate dirt, I'd....probably find someone else. I don't want to sit on a shelf my entire life. That sucks. I'd probably wait for that same..feeling?...as before? I can only hope they have a bit more muscle though. Have you seen this guy? It's like someone tied some sticks together and magicked them into a human." She said, pointing to the hunter sitting just a few feet from her.

She leaned in, raising her hand to half shielded it as she spoke to Solia with only a half-hushed voice. "Can't agree with his hair either. It's like a foxfire died on his head."

Solia laughed, holding up her clipboard to try and hide it. "Oh no no- I have a boyfriend. That doesn't mean I can't appreciate a nice face though." She giggled and waved a bit of air on her face, trying to go back to being serious.

"...." Then she started to giggle again, picturing Melvin with some of the women on the island fawning over him like a harem... she couldn't see it. Sorry Melvin, she couldn't. "Um, hrm, well then. Moving on."

Writing down Silvia's answer, Solia looked to where she point and then. "Not every man is blessed with nice beef... I feel you." She nodded. "Jason is really tall and lord he has the muscles but bulk he does not. It's good for cuddling, but sometime I want to just-" She stopped. "We deviated again. Okay. I'm sorry Melvin." She shook her head. "Gotta focus." She slapped her own face to get back in the game. "Alright, no more goofing around. Saliva- what would you do if Melvin tried to destroy you in order to get a new weapon?"

Melvin was not in this conversation, and glaring, he took out his phone, crossed his legs, and made a show of ignoring them both. He was reading Twitter as they talked and giggled, ignoring that some guys had more 'beef' than him. He was just fine! He wasn't a beanpole and he wasn't a Sun. Sue him!

:C Rin liked him just fine...........he hoped.

He only grew a bit pink when she went into details about cuddling and was about to go 'ahem' when she stopped herself. He looked up when Solia finally got out of gaggling like a hen with Saliva and asked a question.

Saliva perked at that question. "If he tried to destroy me? I thought hunters got really screwed and hurt if that happened?" She looked to Melvin who, currently, did look like he wanted to break her in half. The previous conversation had not been appreciated.

"Hmm. I guess I'd scream to the point he'd have to stop. Maybe see if I could fire myself or something - not that I haven't tried." She pointed out, looking at Melvin and remember his poor aim when he first started and the times he just froze in battle.

"I don't know if Melvin could even use another weapon. Can you even life any hunter's weapon?" She asked.

Melvin put his phone away. "I can't touch another weapon because of you so I wouldn't know. It's a bit of a violation."

She shrugged and looked to Solia. "I'd just try my hardest to make him stop. I'm not about to go gently into that good night, if you know what I mean, sister."

"You don't go gently - anywhere." Melvin added and leaned in his seat. He took off his goggles to clean them with a glass cloth he kept in his jacket pocket.

Solia hummed, smiling and tapping her lip with her pen. "I know what you mean." She said, writing down a few quick notes.

"Now for the final question- Do you love Melvin?"

Bold and to the point.
