Responding to this

OOC: We can have a time skip forward to the actual meeting day after we finish this conversation if you don't mind! Be a little bit of time/space benders cause this happens after all your other rp's.. but the first bit occurs before XD This is just to help with your word count!

Kasen stuck his head out the door and peered around the Khehorian, searching for someone snickering evilly behind him. It wasn't that he didn't believe Toki, it was just... a peculiar thing to come to someone's doorstep and say. He knew Tohru had... trouble with his magic. Kasen even had to admit that his brother didn't share in the excitement of many young Dovaa who were eager to experiment with their abilities, and that was sad. But if someone had come here to explicitly tell him that the little Kiandri was a screw-up... "He didn't... cause you any trouble, did he?" Kasen asked quietly, leaning forward as if that would help curb the sound of his voice.

"I've noticed." He admitted somberly. "And I've... been thinking of what to do. He doesn't really... get out very often. And I thought maybe if I sent him somewhere more populated... But he'd hate it. He's my brother, I don't really want him to have to d something he hates..." This Khehorian said Tohru was a danger. It was strange to think that the tiny lad could really cause any trouble, but as far as Kasen knew, Khehorians were the most advanced and knowledgeable of their race. Toki shouldn't really have a reason to lie to him.

Toki sighed and shook his head. "No trouble, just frustration... trying to get a word through o someone who not only thinks he is worthless but that his clan's power is also worthless..." He growled a little and muttered under his breath before continuing, "Sending him someplace more populated where he can learn confidence in himself would be beneficial to him. He'll hate it of course. But then I have a feeling he'll complain and call himself worthless and say it won't matter what you do he'll fail no matter what you do. Better that something be done now otherwise that spineless idiot's just going to go wander off somewhere and die.Otherwise you'll just have to follow him around and baby sit him for the rest of your life." Toki shrugged and turned around as he shifted back to his far more comfortable form so he could head home.
"Hopefully you can do something with him."

That was many weeks ago and now Toki found himself lurking about the desert thinking of taking another trip. His arrical cub wasn't a cub really...It'd grown to the size of an Orakoir already! And was learning to guard and help out in the clan just fine. Now time to wean him off of me, Toki thought with a smile, bout time I stop treating him like the small ball of fur he used to be. Take some time alone, go fly about and maybe visit someplace other than the desert for a bit.

Hopefully this works! I can edit out the last blurb so we can keep on rping this for a it if you want, or we can switch gears and go warp through space XD

Nah, that's fine!

As much as Kasen hated to listen to someone call his kid brother a spineless idiot... Toki was... probably right. As the Khehorian departed, Kasen shut the door and returned to the kitchen. He hadn't even gone himself, but when the family had lived on the Plane, he'd always passed by a grand building that declared itself to be the College of Sorcery. He'd always thought it was for stuffy old people, but... Maybe stuffy old people would be good for his little bro..?

~~~
"No, Tohru, dammit." Ithric hissed, snapping his fingers in front of the smaller Kiandri's face to draw his attention. "I assure you, your feet aren't doing anything interesting. Keep your head up!" He commanded, even as his younger charge expressed zero interest in obeying. Tohru winced at the sharp tone of the Peisio's voice and a humiliated tinge of pink crossed his cheeks as he adamantly kept his gaze glued to the rocks beneath him. In the back of his mind, he knew he was just further annoying the older man, but... His golden orbs traveled to peek up at Ithric from beneath his lashes, bringing confirmation to his thoughts. Looking at him was even worse.
Exasperation, disappointment, annoyance. How was he supposed to look into those deep navy pools, see those things, and expect to succeed? He heard Ithric sigh and before he could do anything about it, hands were on either side of his face, coaxing his gaze up. "Am I just not good enough to look at?" He questioned softly.
"N-no!" Tohru squeaked in alarm, as he tried to yank free of his hold. "Y-you're..." His cheeks flamed. He was pretty sure he didn't even know enough positive words to describe the Peisio.
Ithric laced his fingers through Tohru's and settled one hand on his waist. "Then try and work with me. Just try." He pleaded desperately. If the Kiandri was embarrassed before, it was nothing compared to now, as Ithric again tried to lead him through what he claimed was a simple dance.
I am assuming that they are at the Khehora's beach? Feel free to have your khehora come in and say hi as well :3
Giving a nuzzle to his fea and Eran, the young arrical, he fly off away from his lair high up on the valley's rocky wall that held his clan's home. I think... I think I will go wander into that Magescian town, now that I have two legged form, I should be able to get inside right? He mused to himself as he flew over the hot dunes.
Should be interesting.. and maybe I shall see what this... bread thing is Grrel mentioned. But not here, not on Eowyn. Due to Rhaze and his raids, plus retaliation strikes from his own clan and others, entering an Eowyn town was asking a bit much.
Instead, he flew across the ocean, stretching his wings and straining his muscles to strengthen them. Old age made him creak, but he was pleased when he landed and wasn't in too much pain.
He did not know of any towns on Ayr, but certainly there would be some along the beaches where the ferry's landed like they did on Eowyn. So he strolled down along the beach and enjoyed the sound of the wind and waves. It was damp here, but his muscles and bones were warmed up from his flight so they didn't ache.. yet.
He smelled the air and paused. Dovaa had been by here recently. And one was a familiar scent: they spineless boy he'd met a few weeks ago. He memorized scents where others memorized faces, and this scent had belonged to somebody who irritated him; a guaranteed way to be remembered.
I wonder if that boy got a back bone. He's not at that house I saw him enter, so maybe his brother did something.
As he followed their scents, a Khehora scent soon joined it; a peisio. Well, that's interesting, he thought as he walked along the beach; apparently he's made freinds, after all the scent was clearly marking this as the Khehora's lair! It was a hopeful sign to Toki that the lad had learned something since he'd met him. As he approached he heard voices and paused around the bend to listen in on the conversation. He grinned as he caught the sounds of someone trying to teach. He's got more patience than I do!
Yup! And sure! XD
"It's... easier if you relax." Ithric advised after a few moments. None of their currently slow steps were particularly intensive or challenging, and while Tohru was keeping his horrifyingly wide golden orbs on the Peisio's face, as instructed, he was still stiff as a board and unwilling to simply allow Ithric to guide him. Beneath the smattering of dark scales, the Kiandri's cheeks were painted red, his lips drawn tight in fear? Humiliation? Expectation of nefarious deeds?
The older man sighed and drew away from him. "What exactly are you hoping to get out of this?" He demanded tartly. "You have to have some kind of motivation. Anything, really. I don't care how small." When Tohru merely appeared confused and gave the slightest tip of his head, Ithric rubbed his temples. "Or, is it just because I told you to?"
The smaller Dovaa glanced away, his arms instinctively coiling up to his chest to... defend himself? Ithric didn't know. "That's... not it..." He mumbled. The Peisio encouraged him on with an impatient wave of his hand. "Well, I can't actually be good at anything. Abronaxus made a mist-"
He didn't even have a chance to get the rest of the word out before Ithric was grabbing the front of his shirt and giving him a shake that had Tohru's breath hitching. "You can't really be so stu- naive," He amended with a scowl "-That you'd think a god would make a mistake and not fix it."
>:] heh heh heh... shot tag back!
Toki snorted in disgust as he heard the spineless one's voice.
"Well if he believes that than he'll never be good at anything," He groused, irritated as he remembered the last encounter. "Good at complaining and giving excuses as to why he can't do anything though...."
He spoke out loud in irritation, forgetting that since he could hear them, there was a good chance one of them would hear him... even if his hearing was better than normal to compensate for the blindness.
Cadeo peeked an eye open at the sound of something that wasn't two-legger bickering. he didn't often get many outside visitors, but they were really piling up as of late. Quietly muttering, so as not to disturb the two Dovaa, he slipped from his sunning rock and made his way toward the sound. the voice. As he drew nearer, he recognized the scent of a Khehora on the wind, even if it was an unfamiliar one. It smelled of sun and sand with the lingering scent of many others.
He hummed curiously as the other came into view. An older male, Kiandri. Cadeo tipped his head. "Hello, there, wanderer." he greeted as politely as he could to someone who was trespassing in his territory. He shifted a bit, leaning and squinting at the Kiandri's eyes. Was he... blind? Lost, maybe? Old and lost and probably confused about the Dovaa's voices. "Do you need help of any kind?" The Peisio offered uncertainly.
Toki smelled the Khehora who's lair this was approaching. He smiled at the welcome and question.
"Good day to you as well. And no.. I foolowed the Torhu boy's scent here.. I ... met him a while back. He did not impress me too much. Have you known him long?" Understatement that. But if the one had known the boy long.. perhas he knew why Turhu lacked so much confidence.
"Ah, I forget mymanners. I am Shaman Toki of the Family Clan Srrelliz."
Hope you don't mind if I do the loot roll here so I can go ahead and add it to Tohru's journal. XP I usually forget if I don't do it right away. Note: First die for Alkara, Second die for Argaroo. Obtained: +1 Fluffy Yellow Argaroo Feather
Cadeo tried to hide his confusion at why a feral Khehora would take it upon himself to follow a Dovaa child so closely, especially a blind, old, feral Kiandri. Those lived predominantly in Eowyn, didn't they? He was a long way from home to be after a little two-legger child... Still, as long as Shaman Toki didn't disrupt his life on his beach, then who was he to question it? The Peisio rolled his shoulders. "I am Cadeo, and I carry no family name." He seemed polite enough, in any event. It wasn't his business to divulge any of Tohru's life, unless the youngster wanted him to, but there was no harm in saying he knew the kid, at the very least. "I've known the boy for several years now. He cried when I tried to eat him. It was quite pathetic." The memory brought an amused rumble from his throat that he quickly squashed, reminding himself just how miserable it had been. "Anyway, if you know him, then you've no need to linger back. Please, join us." Cadeo invited, flicking his tail across the older Khehora's front claws to usher him forward as the Peisio moved to attract the attention of the two Dovaa.
At some point during the conversation, Ithric had deposited the smaller male on the ground, and Tohru now stared back up at him with an ashamed red flush. "Well, don't just sit there." Ithric snorted in exasperation. "Get back up, and-"
"No, no." Cadeo interjected. "Mayhaps it is time for a break." The Khehora trotted over to them, his tail swishing. "Tohru, you know a 'Shaman Toki,' don't you?" He inquired.
Tohru scrambled to his feet, dusting sand from the folds in his pants after, once again, being completely floored. He swallowed nervously as his golden eyes flicked to the dark-toned Khehora. "T-To..ki?" He gaze darted to the elder Kiandri, then quickly back to Cadeo. He gave a tight nod in response.
Toki gave a soft chuckle: cried when he Caedo tried to eat him? "That sounds like him." He muttered to himself.
As he followed the other Khehora out, he smelled the air to get a better scent of the other dovaa that was with Tohru. Strong, Peiso and male.
"Hello Tohru. You learned to at least control your magic yet?" He gave a nod to Ithric. "From what little I heard you've got more patience for him than I did..."
Baaaah, having Ithric alive actually makes me sad. OTL
Tohru flushed and glanced away from the elder Kiandri. It seemed like forever ago since he met Toki, certainly before he had Ithric trying to help him. For all the time that had passed, he still doubted he would be worth much to the blind old Khehorian. He'd hardly learned to do anything with his magic, and lightning still seemed like the most useless of all elements... "Well, I'm t-trying," he admitted on a murmur, folding his hands tightly in front of himself and dipping his head to the more advanced Kiandri.
Ithric rubbed at his chin. "He is just a kid." The Peisio shrugged. "If he can't count on wiser, more experienced people to have patience with him, than who can he count on?" Should he be concerned that he'd never heard of this Toki fellow before? He knew Tohru, which was odd, considering the kid was afraid of Magescians. Weird that he got along better with Khehora... At least, Ithric assumed he did, since this one strolled right up to them. "Anyway, don't think we've met. Name's Ithric."
*pats* Poor Ithric...and tag back! Oh ho ho
Toki gave a small smile. "Trying is much better than saying you cannot do it or you won't or that it's useless... So progress is being made."
He turned a blind eye towards the sound of Ithric's voice and nodded, " I am Shaman Toki. I briefly ran into your charge a while ago on Eowyn. He... didn't impress me much to say the least..."
But, since the lad has actually said he as trying, Toki was willing to let things go... for now. If you held a grudge against past actions, then children often refused to learn because they thought there was no point since you'd already made up your mind.
"But it sounds like he's learned something very important; that he can learn and it's worth the effort."
Going to send in the 5 Alkarai now. Only managed to kill one of them, so we'll have to run off at some point. XP
Tohru gave an awkward, half-hearted shrug at the Khehorian's hopeful response. It didn't feel like progress. For all Ithric's attempts and hard work, Tohru still felt like he was stuck in the same place. Not that he fully understood what he hoped to gain from being here... Control of his magic? Unlikely. A desire to fight? Even less likely. How to function around other people? That, at least, was a useful skill, even if honing it would be challenging with only one other Dovaa to guide him. The Kiandri tucked his head and stared at the ground.
"Well, that seems... rude," Ithric rumbled, grimacing at the Kiandri Khehora as it ever-so-deliberately informed him that it found Tohru unimpressive. Who did that? Who strutted about telling people things like that? Khehorian or not, Toki had no business passing judgement on people he hardly knew. The Peisio snorted. Whatever. It was between Tohru and Toki and Ithric had no place to interfere, as much as he would've loved to wedge his nose in someone else's business.
Tohru sighed softly and shuffled his feet. This was already going poorly... At this rate, neither of his... erm, friends... were going to be getting along very well. Toki had seemed to be very easily agitated when they'd first met, and Ithric didn't take well at all to hostility... If they argued it would be all his fault, and he didn't know of anything he could do to stop them... Even as he thought, some peculiar shadow melded across his on the ground. They fluttered over his own shadow, then flicked away, then appeared again. Whatever it was, after pausing for a minute, it grew. It grew, rapidly.
Tohru blinked and tipped his head toward the sky, only to see some huge golden bird diving down toward them. His golden gaze swiveled to Ithric. The Peisio still held his attention firmly on the Kiandri Khehora, and it seemed unlikely that he'd even noticed the creature about to plummet down on top of them. When it became apparent that Ithric wasn't going to move, Tohru dug his feet into the sand and pushed off. "Look out," he squeaked in alarm as he crashed into Ithric and threw them both backwards.
Since Toki's ability allowed that 69 to be a win, can
Toki stepped back as he sensed something tasty coming towards them. The scent came from above, carried on the ever present winds on Ayr. When Torhu moved to defend his ... teacher? Friend? He was a bit happy. The boy at least could move and do something... and it was in defense of another. Much better than what he'd encounter earlier!
He gathered his power and shot a bolt directly up to fry the tasty smelling creature. Then he gave a thrust of his wings to leap into the air and catch it before it fell on the prone pair. Amusing as it would be to have them get hit with it......
There wasn't time for him to think of what a terrible fool he'd made of himself, until he'd already toppled over onto Ithric and sat perched above him. Tohru screwed his eyes shut and ducked his head as if he could hide from the embarrassment washing through him. he had to assume from the lack of thrashing and squawking animals, that whatever had attacked form above hadn't quite made it to the ground. Ithric grunted as they hit the ground and his hand came up to steady himself against Tohru's shoulder. The Kiandri wanted to die. Really, really wanted it.
"You okay?" The hand moved from his shoulder to his face. "Try not to look too pained," the Peisio snorted out in amusement. Tohru was only half-tempted to crack open an eye. Not enough to actually do it, mind you, but he was kinda curious what the Peisio saw in his face... "That Khehora saved you, so you don't have to freak out or anything." Tohru sighed, lashes fluttering open as Ithric shimmied out from underneath him and stood to dust himself off. Just fear and uncertainty. That was probably all the older male could see from him, anymore.
The small Kiandri followed suit, rising to his feet and tipping his head toward the sky. "Looks like there are others," Ithric noted as more of the bird creatures cawed and swooped and circled overhead. "Not that you can't take them, ah, Toki, but let's take this little reunion somewhere less infested." He turned to his smaller companion. "Sound good, Tohru?"
The Kiandri's gaze shifted back to the ground, and he flicked aimlessly at a wayward strand of hair. Of course he was the weakest link here... he doubted Ithric would care if they left if Tohru wasn't around. "Sure," he murmured softly.
