Princess Scathach sat by a river that ran through a forest. She needed a break from the castle and from all the people in there. It had been a long day and now she was out in here in nature where she felt safe and happy. She walked over to the stream and looked down into it. Her face, tail and leg had scars on them from past battles she had been in. Her tail had a bandage on it from a recent battle and her ears were finally healed after they had been torn in battle. She wasn't a normal princess who sat back and let others fight for her kingdom and just sat and watched. No she was a warrior princess and fought on the battle with her warriors. Some feared what would happen if she died but she never thought about that. What mattered to her was keeping her people safe. That was all that mattered and she would do anything to accomplish that goal.

She looked away from the water and sighed. She was most likely going to rule her kingdom on her own since no one would want a damaged princess for a mate but that didn't matter. She could rule alone and didn't need anyone by her side. It was time to go on a walk to stop thinking so much. Her feet carried her through the forest and the animal calls helped to soothe her. She really loved being out here in nature it was far better than being stuck inside the palace. This was an area where no one would judge her and where there was no one to explain things to. This was her sanctuary and the one place she felt like she could be herself.

Scathach continued to walk along the river as the leaves over head offered shade and protection. This was nice. She froze when she saw another noodle there. This one was a really pretty noodle and had a lovely kitty on her head. She wondered what such a pretty noodle was doing out here. No one else came out here ever. This was her place. But she relaxed as the girl spoke to her. She shook her head and smiled. "No I'm not lost this is where I go to be alone and free. Are you hungry since you have been lost for days?" She shrugged and let her tail flick forward. It hurt a lot since those wounds were fresh. She showed the bandages and shrugged. "The wound son my tail hurt since they are new. But the scars don't since they are old and have healed. The ears were the most recent to heal but they are nothing to worry your pretty little head over."

She nodded. "Yes I have been in a lot of battles over the years. It is my job in my opinion." She looked up at the kitty. "And who is this little cutie on your head?" She offered her hand for the cat to sniff and just smiled at it. This kitty was so cute. "Really you don't need to worry about the scars at all. I've had them for so long."

Scathach watched the other noodle smile at her and relaxed more. This one seemed nice. "Hello there Taco aren't you cute." The kitty was just so adorable. "So this little guy is lazy?" She took the cat and cuddled it. Taco was so cute and soft and made her feel better. "Thanks for letting me know. I know some cats who aren't very kind and so I've learned it's best to let the cat approach me. Then they are a lot nicer." She watched the pack get placed down and tilted her head. "Alright. Never had camping food before it sounds strange." Scathach looked out at the river too. "Yes it is very pretty. I love it out here. I've never camped out here. If I stay out too long people will start to freak out and then I need to deal with that. In my opinion it's not worth it." She nodded. "Yes the town I'm from isn't too far from here. If you like I can take you there and get you a room to stay in."

She looked at this girl. That sounded nice to be able to go where you wanted and not have responsibilities or people to answer to. "I hope you can find somewhere to stay." She giggled as the girl stuck her paw in the water. "Yes it is very cold water. I wouldn't recommend taking a dip in that water." She saw the way the noodle looked at her tail and swished it back behind her. She hid the wince and snuggled the kitty more. And then she saw the way the noodle looked at her ears.

Scathach stared in shock at what this girl said to her. She blushed and her mouth fell open. "No need to apologize about that everyone stares.That's really kind though you don't even know me so I don't know why you would have wanted to stop it if you could?" She frowned. "You don't need to cover your face." She blushed scarlet at what this noodle said. "Thank you no one has ever said that to me before." She shook her head and laughed. She walked over to the girl. "No need to worry about money. The room won't cost you anything at all. So will you accept the room I'm offering? Don't worry about it." It was easy to offer a room the palace was filled with rooms no one ever used. So giving this noodle a room was fine. "My name is Scathach by the way. What's yours?" She leaned against the other noodle when she saw the pout. "It will be ok. I'm sure you will get it all together."

Scathach saw the girl smile and relaxed more. "No no need to pay me back really. It's no big deal or any imposition. Seriously there are a lot of rooms so it's no trouble." She giggled as Taco mewled in protest. Seemed the cute little kitty didn't want to move. She looked back at the pretty girl and nodded. "Sure you can call me Thatch I don't mind at all. Call me whatever is easiest for you." It was nice having someone who didn't know she was a princess. "Mabel that is a very pretty name. It is a pleasure to meet you Mabel. It's not boring it is very pretty. I'm sorry you have had a lonely life that doesn't sound like fun." She frowned as this girl spoke. "Poor Taco." She giggled as he purred and pet him too. Scathach saw Mabel looking at her scars again and waited for what the girl would say or ask. She giggled and shook her head. "No one is hurting me don't worry. These are from battles I have fought and won. These aren't cause by someone beating me up or abusing me. No need for you to go and attack someone for me. Though that is very sweet of you." She started to walk back to the castle and picked up the girl's bag. "Come on."

Scathach smiled back. "You are welcome. I like your name it's not plain it's adorable. Not many have ever heard of my name before. Most think it's odd rather than interesting." She laughed and watched the exchange between Taco and Mabel it was adorable. "Had he had an accident before?" She looked back at mabel. "Oh I thought you would want to go. If you like we can stay out here for a while longer I don't mind at all." She walked with mabel and looked at the forest and smiled it was such a pretty forest and always made her happy. She blushed as mabel said that. "Thanks. Hope you like it."

Scathach grinned at the girl and giggled. "Glad he has never had an accident on your head. That would not be fun. He seems to love your head." She reaches up to pet him too. She watched Mabel and smiled at her. "You can sleep as soon as I show you to your room and I'll make sure there is food ready for you when you wake. I know I'm always hungry when I wake up. When you are rested you can spend more time with me and get to know me." She worries that this girl won't want to get to know her anymore once she finds out who she is. She didn't want Mabel to find out she was a princess. She liked just talking to her without the formalities. She was shocked by Mabel's words and just looked at her stunned. Her brain couldn't fathom what was happening. She hugged her back and blushed scarlet. "I'm ok really. There is no need for you to worry about me. But that is very sweet of you. I'm still alive so don't worry about that either." She couldn't believe she was important to this girl. And Mabel didn't even know she was a princess. "Why am I important to you?" She cuddled against the tail that wrapped around her and smiles. It was nice to be hugged.
