A long day of wandering had been in store for the light purple leopard. It had been many moons since the young male had seen his family but he was sure they were around some where in this area. Not that he was actively seeking them out or anything. In truth, while Cassianu cared greatly for his family, the leopard was more at peace away from them. Especially his father.
Lucianus had an over bearing problem and controlling no tolerance for none sense. Even though the elder leopard was his father, Cassianu had to question his wisdom from time to time. Namely the elder leopards cold and calculating opinion on any species not of leopard birth. Lions tended to be okay but cheetah or anything that resembled a canine was lesser. His father clung to ideals from past decades that had long since crumbled. From time to time there was a hint of warmth, but in Lucianuses eyes, that warmth was far away and distant.
Cassianu, now an adult, did his best to stay away. The amount of weight of the 'glory' days of a dead past his father put oh him and his siblings was enough to make Cassianu keep a respectful distant.
The evening was now just slinking in to place of where the warmth of day had just been making it clear that now was the best time to start the hunt. Being a feline with night vision had its advantages and Cassianu had not been wandering the territory with out reason. He'd been keeping tabs on a herd not to far off and had kept his distance until he was sure that he had a chance. After all, Cassianu wanted to eat this fine evening and maybe keep the left overs in a tree for the morning.
With the grace of a slithering snake, the leopard proceeded closer towards the herd.
