You ever get the feeling that something you're dealing with is untrustworthy, but have no evidence of it.
Then when evidence shows up demonstrating in some subtle way that the entity is untrustworthy, you second guess it in an attempt not to be biased?

I personally would never notice something like a number etched into the pattern of a fairy's wings, but it did get a little suspicious that the whole world seemed to be fighting back tooth and nail against what I'm supposed to be doing. Why there were a ton of reasonable people standing in my way, admittedly not giving their reasons, but being obstacles nonetheless. And grew to question, why?
What reason is there to assume that doing this would cause the hole to fill up? What do we stand to benefit from overfilling the things? All that'd be necessary would be to restore them to a functional state so that the world doesn't rip itself to shreds. The giant hole's a loss but everyone who fell in it's dead anyway, so why is the fairy pushing so hard to overawaken them? Awakening them normally would avert any further crises and there isn't much benefit to doing more, not to mention the "Darkness" she spoke of has no concrete existence anywhere.
Plus, what had she done to demonstrate that she was trustworthy to begin with?
Something felt off, mostly because the enemy was resisting on grounds of morality and not hunger for power. Only possible suspects in the possible were the holy lady,
by in large naive as ******** and a little bit extremely dimwitted,
but demonstrably good natured and only looking to ******** the world which has poison seas, no wind, crappy soil, and constantly erupting volcanoes.
And then there's the fairy, who's just there. She's just ******** there. At most times it seems like she literally serves no goddamn purpose, but every so often the fact that the only reason the holy lady's doing what she's doing in her specific way because the fairy tells her to snaps back into focus.
And the plan that the whole world is resisting the party for is entirely at her behest.

Now, that alone doesn't.
Mean.
s**t.
Because at the end of the day, the plan she's enacting is very clearly doing the world some good. You're going above and beyond, sure, but you're restoring the winds. You're going above and beyond, sure, but you're restoring the seas.
Even when you get the the apparent big bad, he basically tells you that the only reason he's being a jerk is because he wants to use the things in a more efficient way, which doesn't have any sign of being a bad thing. There's no evidence that he's the one ******** them up, as all four are ******** up and he only has access to one of them.

And I still have no idea why they're ******** up. Anything on that part's 100% assumption territory.

But, anyway, the reason they're resisting isn't so much that they want the power of the giant macguffins.
It's that they specifically want to stop us from getting to the things. Which is strange, because as mentioned before, awakening them is fixing the world.

So why're they so resistant?
Literally the only reason the party butts heads with them is because they're intent on being road blocks. They aren't otherwise causing any problems..... Actually, that's a lie, they're causing some problems, but as it's revealed extremely late it's either something that's been intentionally misconstrued and they're being exceptionally reasonable with a controversial course of action.
Or the individual member is just being an a*****e and going off doing things on their own.
But they're plainly not the ones who're ******** over the world. In the first scene the holy lady ended up getting attacked by an entity completely unrelated to them, and that's the thing that messed up the giant macguffins.

I may have dawdled on for too long thus far.

Anyway, after getting to mission success status, lo and behold, there's another mission. We've literally fixed the world and, for all intensive purposes, things are as good as they can be.
Minus a few people who I liked being dead. RIP Kamiizumi and Einheria, I wish you two had taken the place of Tiz and Anges.
So what more is there to do?
Giant pillar of light.
Why on earth would we need a giant pillar of light? The fuuuuuuuck is that s**t going to do? I mean, literally everyone we've met has said it's a bad idea, and the only person who's saying "Do this!" is a fairy who has not earned my trust. The world's in a good state, damnit!
But, alas, the plot demands.
Massive reveal that made me very, very happy, both in that I did not see it from a mile away, and that it was a brilliant and logical step. And then we were back at square one.

So we fix the world again, this time not murdering the people I like, and I figure, yeah. This is good.
Edea, Kamiizumi, Alternis, and Einheria can get together, throw a party, and be BFF's like they were meant to be. I got to do this s**t without murdering a bunch of people I wouldn't otherwise murder, so it's nice to have a reset button. And in the end we fix the world again, so that's a plus too.
But then the fairy says to go through the pillar of light again. And I'm like, "******** you little b***h", but as the plot demands.

And then the evidence starts coming in.
First, one of the resistor guys comes up saying "Actually, trying to murder your whole party wasn't the thing to do. The proper course of action would've been to murder that ******** fairy."
So I'm like, "Nice to know. Now kindly GTFO."
And the reset button gets pressed again, now with even more people I like not being dead. So half of me wants to keep pressing this reset button until Kamiizumi, his two disciples, and their dark friend can act like a family and end the story happily. And I'm thinking,
"Well, he did say that the tiny b***h is evil. But he's also tried to have us murdered multiple times and, whilst he's a rational guy, I actually trust him less than the goddamn fairy. Not to mention that the fairy being evil would basically be proving my bias right."
Cue going through the motions of ******** the world again. Except this time, my suspicions are being echoed by a party member.
Not eloquently, mind. He asked stupid s**t like "Why are we awakening them" when it was quite obviously to fix the world, but that's just a stop short of "Why are we awakening them to such a degree?"
And now it's all but revealed that the little b***h is a herald of destruction, trying to press the world reset button over and over until such a time that something, ******** if I know what, happens.

Of course, that s**t's still not enough for a conviction. So based entirely upon where I am in the story right now, it only mostly looks like she's evil and manipulating the party for her own ends.
'Course, when it was mentioned that the b***h had numbers on her wings that were counting down, I was like, "s**t, really? Pick something I would literally never notice why don't you."
So I was like, "Google search these goddamn numbers."
And I was trying to avoid spoilers and only get a glimpse at her wings, but naturally the tag had that one damn picture of a boss battle I had yet to go through.

So now I'm sitting here being like, "Damn. Trust your instincts sometimes, a*****e. You figured that s**t ages ago and you're just now settling into that conclusion?"

My gut feeling is strange.
I find it to be more likely a better choice to go for the direct opposite of what it tells me. User Image
