Smiles had been returning from a delivery when she'd noticed the activity- Kin milling about in confusion and interest with some even helping and moving in and out of the crowd. It never occurred to her to just stand and watch, as she wasn't one to stand idly by when work needed to get done, and in the blink of an eye she was given a hastily barked task. A beautiful red bird has met an unfortunate end here. The brown doe had come to know the swamp like she knew her own body, but it still took her several moments to think on where exactly she'd seen that grove teeming with songbird nests. Oh, yes! She remembered the faint scent of prairie grasses and swiftly made her way towards the edge of the swamp. It took her several days, but eventually she was getting closer. It dawned on her that maybe she hadn't needed to go as far to find what she was looking for ... but the thought came too late. As she neared the grove a flash of red caught her eye. She moved to investigate, prepared to chase, but instead found the broken body of some predator's meal. All that remained was a tail and a mouthful of red fluff. Leaning down, she picked up what was needed and continued on her merry way.

Smiles made her way closer back to where the Legendary was building his ... Whatever it was. There had been many things Never Idle had asked for, and as she moved she looked around for whatever she could remember he wanted.
That was when she saw it. A large branch- Perfect for holding plenty of weight without being too massive to use properly.
You thought you found the perfect branch--but it snaps cleanly in two when you try to move it. Argh!
She reached down to pick it up in her mouth, enough to start dragging, when it snapped. The sudden crack surprised her and she jumped, but it didn't slow her down. The intrepid doe was already on the search for another something helpful.

You stumble on a hitherto-undisturbed patch of sticky red clay.As she continued looking for her next item, her mind focused on a new branch to replace the one that snapped, she felt her front right leg sink a little. Not in the "oh no bog" way, but in a slick forgiving way. Looking down was a patch of exactly the clay the Legendary needed. Once upon a time, Smiles would then be in search of a turtle shell or leaf to carry the clay in; since then she'd learned to be prepared. Eyeing the area for familiar landmarks, she caught sight of one of her marked stashes of delivery supplies. Her only concern was that this would be exactly the one that didn't have the shell she needed. Peering into an abandoned foxbun borrow, she grinned when an empty turtle shell gleamed back at her.

After successfully scooping the sticky clay into the turtle shell Smiles carefully tucked it away back into her hidden cashe of delivery goodies until she could find a way to transport all that she needed to bring back to Never Idle.
You find a marvelously-intact shed snakeskin.
Satisfied that it was well hidden, she turned to search for something else on the prattled off list. As she searched, however, she was pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful snakeskin. She reached down delicately and nosed it. It was interesting to look at, but not anything she could immediately use, trade, or sell. Nor was it something the Stag needed.
So, her search continued.

Smiles came upon a clump of fresh grasses and was pleased. It seemed like such a perfect blessing to come across a thing she needed so easily. So she took to digging, not wanting to accidentally fray the ends and render the grass useless.
Oh no! Your digging has unearthed an incredibly angry stoat! Best to scram--and spend the rest of the day nursing your gnawed-on ankles. Try again tomorrow.
If something is too good to be true ... This time it certainly was. A viscous, terrible, stoat lunged at her and started to gnaw upon her ankles. She scrambled backwards and away from it as quickly as she could, but lost all of the grass she'd grabbed in the process. Counting her losses, the shy doe ran back to a place she knew was safe and rested for the rest of the day.

Having rested and pleased to note that the redness and pain from the stoat attack was mostly gone, Smiles got up to continue in her search for things to bring to Never Idle.
"Work faster!"
She could swear that she heard the stag barking orders at her from above, and looked about for a familiar tuft of mongoose fur in the trees. It was strange, though, Smiles was positive that she wasn't that close to the ascended kimeti's work place ...
You hear Never Idle chiding you in a strangely metallic voice: "Work faster! Work faster!" But then you realize it's only a mocking-raven, who must have grown up near the stag's place of business.
The voice grew more insistent and seemed more ... high pitched. As if it was somehow a false Never Idle chiding her to work more than she was. She stopped and focused all of her will to finding the voice in the tree-tops and was eventually rewarded with the sight of a mocking-raven yelling at her to work. She scowled and stuck her tongue out at the creature as she closed the distance between where she was and the tree the bird was in.
She reared up onto her hind legs and threw her weight against the tree. She smiled as she felt the impact in her joints and the raven flew off in surprise. Served the little monster right, she thought.

She'd started the day bright and early, earlier than usual, and was enjoying the sunlight through the trees. So much so that she wasn't really looking like she ought to for things to take back to Never Idle. Which was fine with Smiles as long as she did her best to find something useful later on in the day. The doe didn't see the harm in slacking of for a small bit. As she followed a mote of dust that had caught the sunlight and looked like magic floating in the air she came across a stream. It looked so cool and refreshing that she just couldn't help but want to take a drink. She skipped and hopped towards the water like a foal without a care, and promptly slid across something slick and sticky all at once. Landing with an ungraceful splash she looked around to see what had caused her to go careening into the drink. A beautiful red bird has met an unfortunate end here.Oh, good, it was blood. Fortunately for Smiles the mess seemed to have come from a rather large, very red, crane. Even more fortunate was that there were several feathers still very much intact and just begging for her to pick them up and take them to the busy stag.

After having made her rounds to pick up her previously found and stashed items for the bustling stag, Smiles reviewed her finds. Two large clumps of bright red feathers and a turtle shell filled with perfect red clay. She hoped it was enough, and felt anxious about turning them in, but took them by Never Idle's construction anyway. They were things he'd asked for and though it had taken her awhile Smiles was proud of herself for getting something done for the sake of helping someone else out.
She dropped them off where she noted many other kin had left their own found supplies, and then left before she got ran into anyone else. She'd managed to complete all of her tasks without ever having to talk to another living soul and she was not going to end that now.
