COCKY xxx»» James is incredibly full of himself. He knows what he's good at, and he likes to focus on feeling awesome over that rather than worry about the things he's bad at. He tends to brag a lot, but to be fair, he's earned the right to brag a little. If he could keep it down to a little, it wouldn't be a big deal. Unfortunately, he does it more than is reasonable. He's mellowed out some over the years, but all it takes is one compliment to swell his head and get him bragging.
DEDICATED xxx»» James has only two modes; either he couldn't care less, or he couldn't care more, and in the case of the latter, he will dedicate every ounce of energy he has to whatever has caught his attention. He trains almost non-stop, takes his games seriously. This also crosses over to his romantic life; he's a huge flirt, but when he has a girlfriend, he's completely dedicated to her. Given his poor grades in most other lessons, he's fairly certain that his dedication is the only reason he ever did so well in Healing and Defense Against the Dark Arts; only complete focus and a need to improve could've produced the grades he received on his exams.
FRIENDLY xxx»» For all his flaws, James is a nice guy. He gets along well with people and is typically as nice as can be. He might bore people bragging, but as soon as he's done he's always willing to listen to whatever they have to say (and even manages a convincing interested face if it bores him). He makes friends easily, and is exceptionally loyal to the ones he has. He's always game to go out and do something fun, and if you want to invite someone he hasn't met, the more the merrier. He loves meeting new people, and can overall be rather hard to dislike. If someone has a problem with him, it's generally just because they couldn't stand his ego more than his having done anything offensive.
RECKLESS xxx»» A downside to his dedication is that he tends to be extremely short-sighted as to the negative repercussions of his actions. He throws himself into things whole-heartedly, and tends not to overthink them. This can mean anything from making a risky play on the pitch to practicing a new move until he's too tired to move because he can't get it quite right. He's made himself physically ill by working himself too hard on more than one occasion, and has faked being healthy to get to play in a game while he was almost ready to fall of his broom with illness. He doesn't think things through and hasn't yet seemed to learn from the times that it's bit him in the a**.
GALLANT xxx»» James likes to consider himself a modern day knight. He holds open doors (for anyone, not just women), he donates money to worthy causes, he'll treat a beggar on the street to a hot meal. If he can find a way to help someone in their time of need, he'll do it without batting an eyelash. He's quite generous with his money, figuring that it's better to spend it on someone else rather than himself.
OPTIMISTIC xxx»» James has his dark moments, like everyone does, but in general, he always looks to the bright side. Perhaps it's because he hasn't suffered much trauma in his life, but he always believes that things will work out for the best. If he's running late, he figures the universe is holding him back to prevent some horrible fate befalling him. If Lyre trips and bruises herself, he shrugs it off and says 'it could have been worse.' He's always the one to look to the positive, no matter how bad things might get. It'd take something exceptionally horrible to put a damper on his outlook.

CHILDHOOD xxx»» James was the only son of muggle couple Robert and Stephanie Masters. His childhood was a happy one, if a bit too normal for his taste. He got by mostly by playing football in his front yard with the other boys in his neighborhood and asking his smart friends for help with his homework, because he was a horrible student. Although, sometimes no amount of help could help him pass. One day, he was extremely upset to be taking a failing test home to his parents, but when he showed it to them, the grade had changed to show that he'd passed. He was adamant that he hadn't done anything, but his parent's didn't believe him, and he was grounded. Similar things continued to happen over the next few years, until he turned eleven and received his Hogwarts letter. The discovery that he was a wizard came as quiet a surprise to his parents, but they tried their best to be supportive.
SCHOOL YEARS xxx»» As before, James proved to be a mediocre student at best. While he loved his classes (or, most of them. Not even magic could make him care about history), he wasn't particularly skilled at many things. His wandwork was adequate, but hardly exceptional. Even in his best lesson, Defense Against the Dark Arts, he rarely excelled. There were only two parts of school where he shone; Quidditch, and romantically. He found that he had a natural gift for flying, and an exceptional eye, making him an excellent Seeker for his house team. And, being rather attractive and incredibly outgoing and flirtatious, he rarely had trouble finding a date for Hogsmeade weekends. He dedicated himself to doing well in a single lesson; after a particularly bad injury playing, he began focusing hard at doing well in Healing, figuring it would probably come in handy.
ADULTHOOD xxx»» James was drafted to the Scottish Quidditch team before he'd even graduated; as soon as he was out of school, he was on the pitch, practicing to play professionally. For the most part, his life since graduating was pretty simple; games, girls and good times. He rarely took anything seriously, except when on the Pitch. He did drift apart from his parents, the pair of them being exceptionally uncomfortable with both his schooling and his choice of career. However, his social life managed to flourish. xxx»» Being a famous Quidditch star meant he was easily recognizable, and he used that to his advantage to curate a careful selection of friends. Namely, anyone who recognized him but was still willing to give him hell was instantly accepted, because it meant they probably at least loosely followed Quidditch, but weren't starstruck. Eventually, he even managed to meet a young woman, Lyre, who he found incredibly distracting. She was basically his opposite in every way, and he couldn't help but admire that about her. Their relationship drug along rather slowly for a while, before escalating quite rapidly as James confessed his love and proposed to her on the same night. They were wed shortly thereafter, and soon moved into a new home on the beach in Scotland, and welcomed their firstborn, a daughter named Maya, into the world. xxx»» Things got somewhat complicated when James received a call from his father on behalf of his cousin Aaron, who he hadn't spoken to in years. It turned out that Aaron's son Vince was magic, and he was hoping James would be able to help the boy. Vince didn't take well to James, but was quite fond of Lyre, and happy to be away from his excessive number of siblings. James sensed that his parents weren't entirely on board with the magic thing, a suspicion that was confirmed when Aaron's wife Holly divorced him because she 'couldn't handle' having two magical children, their youngest Sissy having also been discovered to be magical. James did what he could to be supportive of the kids, and to help Aaron, but found himself liking his cousin less and less. He eventually opened his house to Vince and Sissy, and then to their older brother Duane as well. Around the same time, he and Lyre had their second child, a boy named Austen.

■ QUIETLyre is a very quiet person, and seldom gets above a soft tone. She enjoys relaxed, calm situations, and tends to avoid noisy or crowded areas. She blames this on having grown up in libraries. ■ FRIENDLYDespite being quiet, Lyre has always loved talking to people... so long as it stays calm. She is willing to go the extra mile for her friends, and sometimes has a difficult time denying their wants. She is also good at maintaining old friendships, and loves spending time with the people she most cares about. ■ CREATIVELyre is always able to come up with stories on the fly. She has to be, both as a writer and a godmother. She's also good with poetry and music, on top of her creative writing skill. ■ KNOWLEDGEABLEThroughout her years, Lyre has learned a bit about everything. Part came from her eclectic mix of schooling, part from her constant reading. She has specifically honed skills involving language, writing, and cello music. ■ CLUMSYDespite being well educated, Lyre is not well coordinated. She falls a lot, and thus carries a small first aid kit in her bag. She's been clumsy all her life, but there's rarely a day where she doesn't end up on her bum in the floor. ■ ROMANTICLyre is a lover of many things, though most revolve around her husband. Then again, she's always had cutesy ideas for special dates and dinners, and thinks it would be wonderful if she came home to rose petals and candles.
CHILDHOODLyre was the eldest daughter of Cameron and Samantha Lutrix, her sister Yesnia being born when Lyre was only three. The girls were best friends and both worked very hard at school. One day, Yesnia was being bullied, and somehow, books flew at the bullies, which scared them. Lyre was blamed for throwing the books, despite teary protests that she hadn't done a thing. Not but a couple years later, Lyre discovered the true culprit. Apparently, she was a witch. Not only that, she would be sent off to a special school? In the name of education, the family agreed.
SCHOOL YEARSLyre was sorted into Ravenclaw, which she enjoyed due to the educational nature of the people. She made friends with a few people, including a certain Gryffindor named Xavier Nicholson. A couple years of friendship, and Lyre was enamored. The two even started dating! That same year, Yesnia was welcomed to Hogwarts as well. The girls retained their friendship, until the younger Lutrix fell terribly ill. She was taken home from school and hospitalized. Only a few months later, she had passed away, and the grieving family left England to try and start a new life in Massachusetts. She transferred her classes to Salem, which was weird, but luckily she was somewhat welcomed. She was often teased for her manner of dress, but praised by her teachers. She was especially glad Salem had a Latin course, especially since her mum taught ancient languages, including Latin. A lot of Salem's classes were neat, unfortunately she couldn't add too many, most were transferred from Hogwarts.
POST GRADUATIONAfter graduation, Lyre decided to branch out on her own. With a bit of help from both her parents and her aunt, the girl moved to London, where she was accepted into a lovely university. She also found employment as an editor for a magical book company and quickly discovered her talent for editing. She made friends with all her coworkers and worked diligently at both work and school. On one of her excursions to the candy store, the girl tripped into a whole new life. She met a wonderful man there, admittedly because he nearly tripped over her, and soon the two were friends... then dating. One night, while the two were eating at James' penthouse, he managed to accidentally propose. Without hesitation, the girl accepted the offer, and a few months later, the two were wed. Shortly after they were married, James and Lyre decided they were ready to add another to their small family. After months of trying, finally, they were expecting a baby. Times grew hard for Lyre, as James was overprotective of her, but after nine long months, the family welcomed a beautiful baby girl to the family. Lyre named her for two of her favorite authors and James concurred, so Maya Edith was decided. As young Maya grew into her early toddler years, Lyre had become quite adept at motherhood and enjoyed spending more and more time with her sweet baby girl. Three years later, they had another baby, this one a son. Austen Alfred, again named after two of Lyre's favorite wordsmiths. As the years went by, the family grew, adding in several kids from James' side of the family. Lyre, of course, loved them all and welcomed them happily into her home, treating them each like her own children.
Soon enough Maya was off to school, allowing for some peace and quiet in the house. Shortly thereafter, Austen went too, and Lyre felt a little more lonely than she'd been in a while. Luckily they had oodles of family and friends to keep her company, plus weekly D&D night.

OBSERVANT xxx»» Vincent, being the middle child of his family and thus no one's favorite anything, is quite accustomed to being blamed for things to get others out of trouble. As such, it's a method of self-preservation that he is constantly watching everything and everyone. If his mother's favorite vase falls off a shelf, you can bet whoever's responsible will claim he did it, and so he's always on the lookout for such situations. He tends to see a lot of things people would prefer he didn't, and is just as likely as not to use the information to his advantage.
MEEK xxx»» Being overlooked often tends to not be great for a child's self esteem. Constantly being assumed to be the cause of accidents isn't either. Given the curse of accidental, uncontrollable magic making him a magnet for such accidents, it was easy enough for his parents and siblings to assume and/or claim he was the cause of anything that went awry. As such, he tends to be quiet, unassuming, and try very very hard not to be noticed. Sometimes this works against him, though; once his eldest sister claimed he'd been the one to crush his father's petunias, when in fact he'd been in the kitchen with his father at the time. Unfortunately, his presence in the kitchen hadn't been noticed, and he ended up taking the blame anyway.
SULLEN xxx»» As expected, being constantly blamed for every little thing, and never having any real positive attention directed his way, Vince is by far the most angry of his siblings. He keeps it to himself, but he's frequently in a horrible mood, over everything. He wakes up in the morning waiting for all the ways the day will go wrong. He feels like his entire life is one big black hole of injustice. He's tried many times to simply run away, all unsuccessful. He keeps to himself as much as he can, to try and minimize the amount of time he's being treated unfairly, or actively ignored. He figures, if no one pays attention to him while he's in his room, at least it's because that's what he wants.
FINICKY xxx»» Vince has control over very few things in his life. As such, the few things he does have control over, he wants to be exact, perfect in every way. His closet is arranged quite specifically, his things are always put away neatly, he's an excessively picky eater, the list goes on and on. If things are out of place, he can't focus on anything else until he's fixed it. His parents, for the most part, are just happy they have a child who is so neat and orderly.
KNOWLEDGEABLE xxx»» When your parents don't pay you much attention and your siblings always have someone else they'd rather play with, you tend to spend a lot of time alone. As such, Vincent spends most of his free time reading, surfing the internet, or watching the telly. Unlike many children his age, he finds most media directed at his age group boring, and instead enjoys the study of history, culture, physics, basically anything you're supposed to be learning at school... in a few years, not at age eleven. He's exceptionally well-read for his age, and it shows.
RESOURCEFUL xxx»» Competing with six other kids for everything tends to wear on a person after a while. It's not like his family isn't doing well money-wise, it's just that his parents have seven children and aren't filthy rich. As such, Vince has learned to get creative. He knows how to look in the cabinet and fridge and find an interesting way to combine what's inside after his siblings have looked at it all and said 'there's nothing to eat.' He taught himself how to sew so that he could repair old clothes instead of needing to ask for his next set of hand-me-downs. He even paid for his own computer, through saving every scrap of change he found tucked away in the house, every cent he got for his birthday or allowance, and convincing his siblings to pay him to do their chores. That laptop is the one thing in the world that is truly 'his', and it's his most prized possession.

CHILDHOOD xxx»» Vincent was the fourth child born to Aaron and Holly Masters. He often laments that his parents, who'd both always wanted a large family, hadn't stopped at four. Unfortunately, the Masters clan is known for having more kids than sense, and his mother was an only child. The combination led to a desire to have what he refers to as 'an excessive number of children', with the couple stopping (reluctantly) after seven. Vince would call himself the black sheep of the family, but that would make him noticeable in the sea of white, and no one ever notices him, except when there's something to blame him for. When he was five years old, his grandparent's living room at Christmas, stuffed full of far too many people, was too loud for his taste. The child yelled 'shut up', and the room went silent. Not because anyone listened, but because they'd all lost their voices. The ability to speak returned to each member eventually, the longest being a younger cousin, three hours after the incident. After that, the family tended to blame him for anything 'odd' that happened, and eventually for anything that happened at all. Vincent has never felt like there was anything particularly special about him, and goes back and forth between being perfectly content with being normal, and wishing desperately that he were special enough to be noticed. Unfortunately, the decision was made for him when he received his Hogwarts letter and discovered he was a wizard. It took him a while to come to terms with this news, but in the end he convinced himself that it would be better to be away at a boarding school than trapped at home, stuck as his sibling's favorite scapegoat.
SCHOOL YEARS xxx»» Vince's school years were excellent, at least while he was at school. Time spent at home became increasingly not so, particularly when it was discovered that his youngest sister, Andi, was also magic. He'd become accustomed over the years to the way his family treated him, and was able to (mostly) ignore the hostility and uncomfortable tension that developed once his magic was discovered. What he couldn't deal with, however, was that same treatment being directed at Andi, who had always been the spoiled (if neglected) baby of the family. Apparently, his mother wasn't taking her kid's magic very well at all, and eventually his parents decided to separate. Which would've been fine with him, but when they saw fit to inform their children, a fight broke out, centered around their mother referring to him and Andi as freaks. They, along with Linda and Duane, ended up moving out of the family home with their father. xxx»» The new living situation didn't last long, however, as not long after they'd moved house, Linda overheard Vince discussing his sexuality with Duane. Specifically, discussing the realization that he was gay. Duane was accepting, and Linda was more or less apathetic about the reality of it, but she felt the need to inform their father, who informed his son that his being gay 'on top of' being magic was too much for him to handle. Vince left the home, choosing to move in with James and his family. Andi followed suit, and Duane wasn't far behind. The three found themselves much happier after that, and haven't had contact with any of the rest of the family since. xxx»» Things at school were more stable. He made a couple of friends, both boys in Hufflepuff who weren't bothered in the slightest by his acidic demeanor. The discovery of his sexuality was tied directly to the realization that he'd developed a small crush on not one, but both of his friends. SNEAKY xxx»» Andi was the youngest of several siblings, and got very used to going unnoticed. It bothered her most of the time, but she had to admit there were times it came in handy. She eventually learned to do it on purpose, able to be more or less invisible when it suited her. It serves her well, since she likes to pull pranks, and when she does get caught she's usually pretty good at applying her cleverness to get her out of trouble.
IMMATURE xxx»» Andi never really saw the point in growing up. She's seen what being an adult looks like in her parents, and what it looks like is The Worst. By contrast, her generally immature... uncle, or whatever, James, seems to be living his best life. The lesson learned here is that maturity is for the birds, and Andi wants no part of it. She'd rather be having fun doing things she's supposed to be too old for than bored out of her skull because she's behaving appropriately.
MISCHIEVOUS xxx»» Behaving, in general, is not one of Andi's strengths. She's not inclined to follow rules if she thinks they're pointless, and will often find creative and ridiculous ways to break them just to prove a point. She likes to pull pranks on her friends and family, and occasionally will stir up trouble just for the sake of watching the fireworks. She's not particularly malicious, but she also tends to forget that some people don't find these things as funny as she does.
COMPETITIVE xxx»» Andi's favorite thing is to win. At what is irrelevant. She always has to be right, always has to last longest, always has to get the last word in, always has to come out on top. While she's able to handle losing with some dignity, she isn't one to let the loss sit. She's much more likely to train up and demand a rematch if possible.
OBSESSIVE xxx»» Andi is exceptionally single-minded. Once she has fixated on something, nothing will get her to drop it. A new favorite song will be sung almost twenty four seven until she's bored of it and moves onto the next. If something catches her fancy, she must have it, at all costs. If something confuses or interests her, she will not rest until she has asked every question under the sun about it. While this can be great, as her obsessive nature results in an excellent memory, it can be difficult to get her to focus on important matters while she's fixated.
NEEDY xxx»» Andi's childhood was not a particularly happy one, and as a result, the oft-neglected youngest child tends to require a lot of attention and reassurance from the people around her. This mostly manifests as obnoxious, attention-grabbing behavior, like her pranks and need to poke the bear, but occasionally she will deliberately hide away in her room just to see how long it takes someone to notice she's gone and check on her. She gets irritable when she feels neglected, and will often lose her temper if she feels like people are forgetting about her.

CHILDHOOD xxx»» Andi, born Sissy Andrea Masters, was the youngest of seven kids. She was the family's "accident", and the thing that finally made both her parents ensure they weren't capable of having more kids. Her youth was mostly spent fighting for the attention of her parents and various siblings, with little to no success. At the very least, she wasn't the least favorite, as that title fell to her older brother Vince. The quintessential middle child, Vince was also the first to show signs of having magic, which made him the black sheep of the family. Andi realized she also had magic not too long after his was discovered, and kept it to herself as long as possible to save herself the same disdain the rest of the family directed towards him. xxx»» Unfortunately, Andi's magic was eventually discovered, which led to her parent's divorce, not to mention a dramatic confrontation between her elder brother Duane and their mother. He, along with Vince and Andi, ended up living with their father for a short time. Eventually, their father found out that Vince was gay on top of being magical, and that was the straw that broke the camel's back. The three siblings ended up moving in with their also-magical relative James and his family.
SCHOOL YEARS xxx»» Andi's school years were mostly spent trying to be the best at magic she could be, just to show her family what's what. She figured that being a good witch was revenge enough, and sometimes fantasized about terrorizing them once she was of age. However, she was mostly preoccupied with her friends, Jack and Will, and the various pranks they would pull, along with her newly discovered love of Quidditch.
ADULTHOOD xxx»» Andi's only desire post-graduation was to play professional Quidditch. She hadn't been the best player in school, but she reasoned that was because she was too busy with classwork and other things to really focus. She elected to tryout for the Holyhead Harpies and hoped for the best.

INTELLIGENT xxx»» Duane has always been a very gifted child. Of all his siblings, he is easily the smartest, though unlike most of the others he sees no need to hold this over anyone's head. He has an excellent memory, and is good at analyzing patterns and making predictions based on them. He struggled in his earlier years in school, due to a lack of challenge. Once the problem was discovered and he was moved into more advanced classes, he excelled, and found himself thoroughly engrossed in his studies. His idea of a good time generally involves some sort of puzzle to solve or problem to work out. If his mind isn't being challenged, he is usually very bored, and tends to have trouble focusing.
GEEKY xxx»» Duane is easily the 'geek' of the family. He's the one with all the strange fringe interests, who collects the comics and spends hours trying to activate glitches in video games for the fun of it. His closest friends are all members of his guilds for the various MMO's he's a member of, and they frequently meet for tabletop games as well. He the first person to go to for trivia answers, and can keep track of a seemingly impossible amount of information for a seemingly impossible amount of media. Even if he's not particularly interested in a specific comic, or game, or whatever else, he has probably done some reading on it and can answer a few questions here and there.
LEVEL-HEADED xxx»» Unlike the rest of his family, Duane has a very long fuse. While he's not immune from losing his temper, he does so very infrequently, and generally only over things that actually matter. For the most part, he plays the mediator in the family, sorting through the drama and trying to find common ground between his siblings to avoid fights. The yelling never solves anything, and in fact only makes things worse for everyone in the house. His more logical mind makes it easier for him to be objective, and he's very good at helping people work through their issues.
KIND xxx»» Duane doesn't see any reason to be rude or hurtful to another human being. While he's not one to say that anger is never justified, he does think that a good chunk of the negativity in the world is wholly unnecessary. Considering his two older siblings are very mean to others, and also very miserable, he can't help but suspect the two things are related. He tries to go out of his way to make everyone else a little happier, if he can. He admits there are a few lost causes (nothing short of the death of her rival would make Linda crack a genuine smile), but he thinks that most people can be made to feel better, if there's enough of an effort made.
PASSIVE-AGGRESIVE xxx»» Duane doesn't see the point in fighting, or yelling, or causing trouble when there's nothing to be gained. That said, he's a very smart guy, and a little impatient when people act foolish. While he can remain mostly calm, he often can't help the little comments that slip out now and again. His favorite tactic for dealing with chore battles with is siblings is to simply stop caring about how dirty a room is, because it's not his turn to clean it. He'll take an extra fifteen minutes in the shower to make sure his sisters don't have any hot water if they harass him too much, will borrow a book he knows his brother wants to read, whatever. He isnt' about to cause a fight, but he gets his little revenges where he can.
AMBITIOUS xxx»» Duane has, for most of his life, wanted nothing more than to get out of his parent's house and to do something with his life. While it's not as though he thinks either of them are wasting their potential, the same can't be said for his siblings. All of them are intelligent, even Linda, who tries to act like the typical high school airheaded popular girl. And, of all of them, almost none seem to have any desire to do anything with their brains. Robert eats whatever garbage is fed to him if it means he can act superior, Linda cares more about her looks than her academics, and he's never seen anyone lazier than the twins. If Andi has an ambition, he's pretty sure it's to be a supervillain, which is a goal, he supposes, but not particularly achievable or admirable. He, meanwhile, aspires to a great many things, of varying degrees of importance. If he has a flaw, it is that his ambition is scattered, and he can't seem to settle on a singular goal.

CHILDHOOD xxx»» Duane was the third child born to the Masters family, four years younger than his oldest brother Robert, and two younger than his oldest sister Linda. He never got along very well with his older siblings, having nothing in common with Linda, and not liking the way Robert attempted to boss him around constantly. Three years later came Vince, and Duane tried his hardest not to be the mean and often domineering older sibling that Robert was. Next came the twins Anthony and Janet, and after that, his parents swore they were done. Duane was relieved, because six children was quite enough. Unfortunately, they'd lied, because four years later came Sissy. Most of his childhood memories involve a lot of screaming, and fighting, and toy stealing and crying and bullying and every other thing you'd expect in a house with so many kids.
SCHOOL YEARS xxx»» Getting to go to school every day was a breath of fresh air, especially as Duane got older and acquired more siblings. Through his primary years, he struggled some, mostly because he wasn't being challenged enough in his lessons. At first, it was believed that he had a problem focusing, but when he continually turned in work with perfect marks, it became apparent that he was absorbing his curriculum just fine. Eventually, he was pulled from his school and sent to a more advanced private academy. Unfortunately, the school was incredibly expensive, which put a strong financial burden on his parents. They insisted on him attending, however, concerned about the consequences if they didn't. Things got tight around the house after that, and Duane was well aware that his older siblings resented him somewhat. Vince and Andi (who despised her first name) never seemed to care, but the twins threw enough of a fit about it that the parents eventually agreed to buy them a horse, which Duane thought was rather stupid. xxx»» Duane has, on occasion, felt guilty about the cost of his schooling, but he's smart enough to know that it's worth it, and tends not to worry overmuch. The family has never suffered much for it, aside from a couple of light Christmases and a lot of hand me downs. Still, attending the school only furthered the gap between himself and his siblings, right up until it was discovered that Vince was a wizard. Once that happened, suddenly Duane being 'the smart one' didn't seem like such a big deal. Rather than being relieved, Duane was troubled by the resulting changes in the family dynamic. His brother was more or less ostracized by a family that already neglected him at best, and took advantage of him at worst. When Andi was discovered to be a witch as well, it was apparently the final straw. Fighting between his parents became common, until they decided to divorce. The custody arrangement more or less left their mother with only the twins, as she didn't want Vince or Sissy, and Linda was more than happy to take the opportunity to live separately from Robert. The obvious maternal favorite, Robert was already too old for 'custody' to be an issue, but he elected to remain with their mother nonetheless. Duane, meanwhile, could only hope that things would improve with his mother's toxicity out of the picture. xxx»» Unfortunately, this did not seem to be the case. Things were tense at home after they moved out of their mother's house, like everyone was waiting for the other shoe to drop. Eventually, it did, in the form of Vince coming to his older brother for advice. He was beginning to suspect that he was gay, and wasn't entirely certain what to do with that information. Duane's conversation with Vince was overheard by Linda, who told their father, who was less than accepting of this information. Vince elected to move in with James and Lyre, and Sissy decided she would rather live with her magical family than her father. Duane kept in touch with his siblings for a while, until his complaints about things at home led their cousins to invite him to live with them, as well. Duane was more than happy to be away from his father and Linda, though relying on James apparating him to school each morning took some getting used to.

She was three when her parents told her she'd be getting a baby brother, which she wasn't excited. Unfortunately, they turned out to be correct and suddenly she had a little baby in the family. Luckily, she begrudgingly began to love the baby, though she didn't exactly love that all kinds of cousins were suddenly moving in. She grew up in a crowded house that ended up depleting like clockwork every time a school year rolled around, allowing her more freedom. On her Eleventh Birthday, Maya was gifted a Hogwarts letter of her very own, and she was very, very excited for the adventure to begin.

Around that time, she started dating Jass, who had become the captain, and the duo realized their compatibility stretched beyond the pitch. She did well in all her exams, both times, which made her parents happy. Shortly before graduating, someone from the Harpies offered Maya a spot on their team. After careful thought and weighing her options, Maya decided to accept the offer.

SOFT-SPOKEN xxx»» Austen isn't one to speak harshly or raise his voice. He doesn't talk much at all, really, and half the time no one notices when he does because he's so quiet. He has a hard time getting a word in edgewise, and learned at a young age not to bother most of the time. He only really makes an effort when he's correcting someone on something they're incredibly wrong about, because nothing annoys him more than people being misinformed.
INTELLIGENT xxx»» Austen inherited his mother's love of reading, and spends as much of his time possible doing just that. He's especially fond of mystery novels, which has given him rather good observational and problem-solving skills. Of course, sometimes he thinks he's a little better at these things than he actually is, and gets in over his head trying to fix things. Still, he's usually pretty good at piecing things together. He likes to approach things from all angles to get the best result.
CRANKY xxx»» Austen is the smallest person in a very, very busy household, and sometimes it can be a bit much on him. He's got a very low threshold for annoyance, and tends to be very withdrawn and irritable as a result. He's not prone to outbursts, but will rather frequently be found trying to hide from everybody else. He also tends to outright ignore people when he's annoyed at them, no matter who they are or what they want from him. He'll hold a grudge like nobody's business and expects to be apologized to sincerely before even considering forgiving the other person.
INTROVERTED xxx»» It's not that Austen doesn't like people exactly, he's just very selective about who he wants to spend time with. He finds most people to be incredibly exhausting, so he tries to limit time spent with them as much as possible. If he likes someone, he'll still usually restrict himself to only a couple of hours with them, because it takes him a while to recharge. There are very rare exceptions to this rule, and those people usually tend to be the sort he can sit in a room not interacting with and still feel like they've been hanging out.
EASILY BORED xxx»» Austen doesn't need to be active all the time, but his brain certainly does. He has trouble falling asleep at night because laying down to do nothing goes against everything in him. He's often caught with a flashlight and a book under his covers, because he can't stand to just do nothing. When he's not reading, he's usually thinking up elaborate stories in his own head. His waking hours are much the same, constantly seeking something to stimulate him mentally. He doesn't like things he considers too easy, and can be a bit of a snob when it comes to activities if he doesn't feel like he's being challenged.
STUBBORN xxx»» Austen doesn't know when to quit. He's not one to give up on things, and will hold his ground firmly when challenged. While he's not one to start a fight, if he feels the need to get involved in one he's going to see it through. He waits until he feels that he's been well-informed before he forms an opinion about anything, so getting him to change his stance can be a hard fight. He usually trusts what he's read more than he does what a person says, unless the person in question is a recognized expert on the subject at hand, or the material to read from is extremely biased.

CHILDHOOD xxx»» Austen is the youngest of two siblings, but he always felt like the youngest of a lot more than that. Between Duane, Vince, Andi, and Maya, plus his parents, their various friends, and the various children of those friends, his home was rarely a calm. This wasn't terrible, exactly, but for a young boy who liked having a quiet place to read, it seemed like hell more days than not. Still, he grew up well loved, and a little spoiled. While he didn't get his way in all things all the time, it was rare for him to be denied things he wanted, and he never went without things he needed. It was, all in all, a perfectly normal, if hectic, childhood.
