With the slight dimming of the lights and blue lasers guiding through the arena to the tone of "Immigrant Song" by Led Zeppelin, the mysterious appearance of an unfamiliar wrestler would be revealed only by the announcer's rehearsal. So emerging through the thin black sheet of a curtain was a tall and hooded masked man, the completely hidden facial expression adding to the mystique that was the newcomer. The mask hid his youth, and the hooded sweater had covered his proficient physique. The camera approached the man's face, to which he tilted his head to the side to show a mix of false confusion and true intimidation. He set his head straight and looked towards the ring, flexing his fingers and he balled his hands in a fist over and over again. Jake Roman was here, and this was his first march to the ring when it came to the big leagues.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh ahh! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh ahh! We come from the land of the ice and snow, From the midnight sun where the hot springs flow! Hammer of the Gods..."... from St. Louis, Missouri! Weighing in at two hundred seventy pounds... Jake, Roman!"
The amount of excitement must've been massive, considering the big man could not contain his anxiousness one bit. Once he started to walk down towards the ring, he slapped the hands of the fans nearby with a very visible amount of energy glowing from his bones. He didn't say anything through his temporarily worn mask; in fact, Jake wasn't much of a talker himself. But a best-of-five series with someone who was an indy legend of sorts, despite being the second match on the card, made him feel like he was seen as a rookie with potential. Perhaps he could prove even more in the ring against Aiden Covell. Once he passed the foot of the ramp, Roman hopped onto he apron and wiped his feet on it like a doormat to show his respect for the ring. The Kid walked over to the turnbuckle and in one motion, removed his mask and hood. Jake smiled to the fans and motioned them to get louder (which nobody did because he was brand new and nobody knew who he was). He jumped down from the turnbuckle once his music died before removing his sweater entirely. It was time for one of these two brand new faces to show who was the better of the two in a series that was sure to be remembered by all. He stretched with the top ropes in the apron, waiting for his opponent.

There was no prior talk to his opponent before this match. His opponent entered the 'Gorilla Position' from one hallway. The man in question would arrive from a second hallway. His opponent had already made his entrance and reveal to the crowd at ringside and televised audience. This man, had not. The man who was to arrive next was none other than a man who's aerial feats of strength and healthy lifestyle kept him at the peak of his game. This man was a so-called 'legend' in the Indy's, if you will. He hadn't traveled to anywhere outside of the United States. But he had traveled all around the country to test his mettle in multiple Indy Promotions and house shows. Wrestling opponents ranging from giants, to midgets. From occult, paranormal entity gimmicks, to SHIELD mocked, powerhouse types. Aiden Covell had finally earned the résumé worthy enough to be signed on to a big name wrestling promotion. A promotion that had a lot of familiar faces of wrestlers he had wrestled in the past and recent.
There was about a five minute gap between the fading of his opponent, Jake Roman's, entrance music and the change of atmosphere that would bare witness to Aiden's debut. The lights of the titantron above the top of the stage would go black, as would the LED banners and the spotlights. The entire top of the stage from the end of the ramp up was pitch black with the only visible light peeking through the curtains of the second level exits. Now, smokey fog would begin to cloud up through the vents underneath the center of the stage, right above the top of the ramp. Visible lighting would now illuminate as only the sight of the smoke would be visible, for now. In a matter of seconds, there would be a silhouette of a man standing straight in the middle of the fog and nearly being engulfed by the thick clouds. A simple man would have coughed by now due to the heaviness of the fog. Aiden however, had a mask over his face, a hood covering his head and the know how over years of experience to not breathe it in. Soon, his music would play.
Aiden's head would slowly raise once the opening of his song had started, but would wait for the opportune moment to react.
Boom. Taking two steps forward as a hand rose to his hoodie, Aiden would toss the hood of his hoodie backwards while removing his mask and quickly shoot his arms to his sides. An open armed taunt if you will. Silver sparks would pop and start to shower down behind him through a lined vent above the entrance to the 'gorilla position' as the fog would start to dissipate. Aiden would smirk as the crowd offered a few cheers and hollers for him. Most likely fans of his from the Indy days. Slowly, Aiden would lower his arms to his sides and take a moment to look at the man inside the ring. He would size up Jake from a distance for a brief few seconds before making his forward progression down the ramp. His music would continue to blast and lyrics never once failing to keep Aiden pumped up as his body moved forward towards the steel steps. Aiden was already dressed in his ring gear from the Indies, but added the effect of a hoodie and a black-logo shirt underneath as additional look. Plus his black and white mask of course.
"Making his way to the ring. From Charleston, South Carolina. Weighing two-hundred pounds.. Aiden Covell!"
Do you really care? It’s not like it matters anyway What’s going to happen here? We’ll laugh about it all one day
Hey! Hey! What do you say? It doesn’t really matters Cuz it’s all the same Hey! Hey! What do you say? They're just gonna blame us anyway
Taking his time ascending the steps, Aiden's gloved hand would grip the middle rope ad keep it gripped as he walked along the apron. Taking a look at his opponent inside the ring warming up, Aiden would now grip both gloved hands on the top rope as he leaned back. Within seconds, Aiden would leap over the top rope gracefully in a display of parkour-like flexibility. Motioning for a ring attendant to come over, Aiden shrugged his black hoodie off sleeve by sleeve and removed his t-shirt with both of his arms crossed over one another in an 'X' pattern. His healthy body and toned abs now in display from years of conditioning and focused exercise regiments. As the ringside attendant collected his things and laid his mask on top, Aiden took the opportunity to grip the top rope and lean back again. This time tugging on the ropes to loosen his his arms as well as raising a leg and resting his boot on the top turnbuckle. Leaning his body forward to stretch his left leg, then repeating the process with his right. Once he was ready, he awaited the sound of the bell.

A seventy pound weight advantage was the only thing he needed to hear from the factual ring announcer to know how he would approach this match. But first things first; where Jake came from, handshakes were obligatory to starting a match. Roman didn't have any respect for the stranger who now aligned himself on the opposite side of the ring, but he had respected the fact that they had both made it at least this far, and ironically at the same time. The Kid went towards the middle of the ring after the bell sounded to show his integrity and shake Aiden's hand.

Crouching down to stretch out his knees, with support from his knee pads underneath his tights, Aiden did a few last minute stretches. In order to pull off the entirety of his physical display of aerial techniques and airborne feats of strength, he had to have a fully limber body. One that he prided himself on having for years now and one that was as healthy as a straight edge, daily exercised, strict eating regiment and constantly hydrated body could have. The bell had sounded and Aiden kept his eyes on the man across the way from his as he kicked his feet to the side, one after the other. Hopping a bit in place just to get his feet in condition for his landings and parkour-like moves, Aiden was ready to go. Meeting his opponent halfway in the middle of the ring and taking his time to do so, Aiden watched as the guy extended his hand for a handshake. Typical of a Ring Of Honor style to always shake the hand of your opponent before the match. Returning the handshake, Aiden let go and started to circle around the guy for a lock up attempt.

Roman circled around the ring, parallel from his opponent, until he saw Covell try to engage in a lock-up. But this was the approach Jake had wanted all along! Once engaged in the lock-up, Jake would try to transition and outmuscle Aiden by sliding his arms around the head of Aiden and applying a headlock.

Searching for an opening that he desired, Aiden saw fit to close the gap on Jake within seconds. Starting out with a collar and elbow tie up, Aiden had a plan of how it was going to go. But was quickly sidetracked when his plan was all but null at Jake's quick reaction timing to put Aiden in a headlock. Following the steps and motions Jake had on him, Aiden proceeded to use his free left hand to attempt a few drilled punches into Jake's rib cage.

The punches had made Roman give no choice but to loosen the hold; he held the spots that were stricken by the smaller of the two, and Aiden had a few seconds of free reign to plan what he was going to do next. Early on in the match, Jake wanted to slow the pace of this match down, but he was always willing to keep up with whatever the agile Aiden Covell's pace was.

Strategizing a worthwhile thought in his head as far as what his next plan of attack would be, Aiden kept the punches drilled. At the feeling of having his head released from the hold it had previously been locked in, Aiden reacted instantly. With the right side of Jake's body already targeted, why stop now. Aiden would attempt to grip a hold of Jake's left arm and twist it in a torqued angle while hoping for a follow up handful of kicks to that same targeted ribcage.

Ahhh, the pace was good for now, as was expected for the beginning of any match. Regardless of it's speed, the kicks to the ribcage and the twisted arm illustrated that simple pacing didn't always produce good results for the big man. After a handful of kicks, Roman didn't want anymore done on his torso. The feet of Covell had stung him, seemingly much worse than any other pair of boots. Roman grabbed the wrist that twisted his arm, and went to go under the arm to make his own limb straighten out again. With his spare arm, Jake would go for a couple rough forearms to the jawline of Aiden, with hopes that he could corner his adversary or push him into a wall of ropes.

From the sound of each kick, Aiden himself could tell that it must have stung like a b***h. Good. The collision of kick pad and skin was an audible sound that was well remembered to anyone who had watched Aiden's matches before. Of course, all good things come to an end and Jake made sure of that with a quick maneuverability and loosening of his arm. Aiden let go of Jake's arm in the process to insure that his own wrist or hand wouldn't get bent in an awkward way, but paid for it. Forearm shots teed off at Aiden's jawline which caused the aerialist to stumble backwards after every one. Putting him with his back against the ropes, literally and figuratively.

Strikes were some of Jake's favorite offensive moves, but not in the traditional sense. Once Covell had his back against the ropes, it was up to the Kid to Irish whip him in the opposite set, in hopes that Aiden rebounding back his direction could help the big boy show off a couple moves. But this was already a back and forth match and it wouldn't be until one of them were thrown off that the real match of move sets would occur. If Aiden returned Jake's way, the debuting face would stay in his place in the middle of the ring and go for a discus clothesline, in hopes that this would be the move to throw off the young speed demon.

With nowhere else to go and Aiden pretty much having to regain a bit of sense to his head after being clocked by the forearm shots, he took the Irish Whip. Across the ring he was sent as his back bounced off the ropes, ricocheting back towards Jake and being caught off guard completely with a quick thought discus clothesline. Such a clothesline that put Aiden inside out as his body flipped and twisted backwards due to such an impact before landing flat out on his stomach. Aiden's face was rather stunned. He didn't see that coming. Chalk that up as a new maneuver he'd have to look out for.

Jake was as surprised as his adversary; that move wasn't one he used commonly but he was happy to have almost beheaded his opponent in their first of five matches. Going for the quick cover was the Kid, hoping he had knocked Aiden into next week with the impact of the move.

Laying there in an overwhelmingly surprised heap of confusion and shock, Aiden had to take a few seconds to process just what happened a few seconds prior. If that's the way that Jake was going to start out their match, then Aiden would easily have to adhere to this. Feeling himself rolled over, Jake was quick to try for a quick cover on Aiden.
One.. Tw-
Kickout. Aiden certainly wasn't going to let Jake take him out that early in the match. Sure, the guy already got a two count on Aiden. But that was simply due to the fact that Aiden was still regaining his bearings after that hell of a discus clothesline. Rolling away from Jake for a moment, Aiden slowly started to sit up and shake his head to 'get the cobwebs out' and regain focus.
