Sitting in the living room, the green-eyed vampire relaxed against the antique couch. His eyes shifting through the words of the page of a book he was reading. Stefan had no idea where Elena was today. But he knew she was still upset with everyone for not recognizing that she wasn't herself while Katherine had control of her. He didn't blame her. He felt guilty knowing he didn't realize it sooner himself.
A sigh escaped him as he flipped a page in his novel. He thought of going after her, but felt it'd only push her away. Maybe it would be best if he let her just have some space. Stefan only hoped she'd come back around once she realized just how crafty Katherine was to have pulled it off.

Aiden should have been up already. About thirty minutes earlier he slammed his hand down on his alarm for the second time. Waking up was hard, especially for a vampire who could make up any time he missed whenever he felt it necessary to do so. But, he had to wake up. Otherwise, his parents would get curious and try to find out why he was not moving. Lugging his body out from his sheets and covers, he stood up with a loud yawn before he began to scratch his head. He was already fifty-five minuted behind whatever he should have been doing, and was now merely convincing himself that he did indeed have to go out into the world eventually.
Having convinced himself into actually getting dressed, and not just heading out naked, he made his way downstairs to see his family sitting at the kitchen table. Good mornings were exchanged between each of them as breakfast started. While he didn't exactly need to eat human food anymore, doing so still made him feel like a living human being and not some undead monster. At some point he was going to tell his parents what he had become. But, in doing so, he was afraid that they would reject him, or have the town come after him. Sighing softly, he finished eating before placing his dishes into the sink. Since there was nothing for him to do, he was going to go and visit Stefan and possibly Damon if the elder male was there. He still owed everything to Stefan, and while he had adjusted a lot better to life with his help, he could not help but feel indebted to him at times.
The next question was whether or not he wanted to drive over there, and after what seemed like hours of deliberation, he simply left his house with a quick goodbye. Once he was sure that he'd be out of both window sight, and normal human sight, he sped to Stefan's house. Vampiric super speed had always come in handy for him, and that seemed to be one of the few perks of being dead.By time he had reached the Salvatore Boarding house, he noticed the door was still ajar. Knocking once he paused for a moment before stepping in. "Stefan?" questioned Aiden as he closed the door fully behind him. "Stefan, you here?" Stepping further into the house showed Stefan on the couch, apparently lost in thought. Two years of being a vampire, and he couldn't remember a time in which Stefan seemed to be so down and depressed.
"You don't look too happy. Let's get you a drink." Without waiting for a response, Aiden had disappeared, and when he returned he held a large bottle of wine in his hand, and two glasses in the other. Plopping down besides him on the couch He put bother glasses on the table before pouring their drinks. Placing the bottle onto the table, he lifted both of their drinks before handing one to Stefan. "So what happened?" His words were followed with an indication to the drink in Stefan's hands. While drinking would probably not fix his problems, it could possibly get him talking.

The sound of Aiden's voice suddenly caught Stefan's sensitive ears. Lifting his head he looked over towards the entrance to the room as the younger vampire's footsteps came closer. A small smile stretched across his lips, but before he could say anything, Aiden was already fetching wine.
Stefan could hear the him heading towards the wine cellar, even a quick clank of glass before Aiden came back and sat down next to him, beginning to pour the alcoholic beverage into the glasses. Stefan gave a soft chuckle. Being handed a glass, he placed his book down on the table gently and shook his head with a sigh. That brief, prior second of a chuckle had completely disappeared now. The green-eyed vampire just looked at the glass for a moment before taking a sip of the liquid.
"Still haven't heard from Elena," he told Aiden and looked back to the glass, swirling the drink a bit idly. "I'm just worried about her."

Truth be told, he was a little afraid of hearing what would have made Stefan so depressed, but knowing the reason did not seem to help him much either. Knowing that Elena still hadn't contacted him was a little disheartening. Taking a sip from his glass, he looked deeply at it, watching the wine settle within the glass. "You just have to give her some time. A lot happened right? I'm sure she's just a little freaked out by everything." spoke Aiden as he placed his glass down onto the table softly. At that moment, at least a thousand scenarios played over in his head of what he could say next, and what Stefan's response would probably be, none of which served to cheer the male up. "You can't stress out like. Elena is a strong girl, and I'm sure that in time, she will be alright. You've just got to be patient."
Picking the glass back up from the table, he finished off what was left within his glass before leaning into the couch. A small sigh was released from his body before he looked at Stefan again. "Besides, no one likes seeing Stefan depressed. Not even Stefan." stated Aiden with a smile before standing up. Taking his glass to the sink, he placed it within before running back over to the couch. "So, promise me you won't worry so much, okay?"

He was right. Aiden was right. Elena did go through a lot. If it wasn't enough that she had been living in Katherine's shadow since the five-hundred year old vampire came to town, then being controlled and impersonated by the old vampire was pretty much torture... And no one noticed until Katherine screwed up.
Well it was all done and over with now. Katherine was dead. Nadia was dead. And Elena was back, safe and sound... Somewhere.
Stefan nodded and downed the rest of his wine, feeling the sweet liquid rush down his throat before placing the glass gently on the table. A little chuckle escaped him when Aiden made the comment about not even himself liking to see himself depressed. "Alright," he told him, a small grin stretching his lips.
"So what's up?" he asked, his brows raises a bit curiously.

Seeing Stefan smile was all he needed to make himself feel better as well, and in doing so, he released a small laugh. "Can't say for sure. I'm just happy to be alive, or as alive as being undead can be considered?" questioned Aiden as he pulled his legs up onto the couch. Crossing his legs Indian-styled, he looked up at the ceiling momentarily before looking down at Stefan's glass. "Thanks, by the way, for saving me back then. I don't think I was ready to accept death or leave my parents alone..I really am grateful to you." With that off of his chest, he yawned before stretching his arms out. Standing up from the couch he stretched his legs before plopping back into the couch. Since they were exchanging questions with one another, he would do continue. "How are things with you and Damon? Any better?"

"..." Stefan watched the younger vampire as he stretched. He nodded solemnly, remembering the night it happened--When Stefan saved Aiden. He'll be honest, he didn't exactly get the result he had hoped for. He didn't mean to turn Aiden, only heal him enough so he wouldn't die and he could get the kid to the hospital... But Stefan hadn't been there soon enough. Aiden died shortly after Stefan fed him his blood. Now Aiden was a vampire.
But at least Aiden was alright...
Stefan gave a small sighs and forced a grin to his young friend in response to being thanked. "I'm just glad that you're okay... I wasn't sure how you'd take being a vampire."
"Damon and I are pretty much the same as ever--He's a pain in my neck, I'm a pain in his," he only half joked, grinning as he looked to his empty glass on the table.

"Well, at first it was hard. Really hard, but you were there to walk me through everything, so it became easier and more manageable." For a moment he paused in order to nod a quick thanks at Stefan before resuming. "Once I got over the need to feed on my family everything became easier, and here we are. Although, I guess my hardest point in this new life of mine will be watching those around me die while I continue moving forwards." As he finished, his words had become almost a whisper. Truly, that would be the one thing he would regret about being immortal. The simple thought of having to bury his parents was bad enough, but his friends and extended family would also take its toll on him. When Stefan resumed his talking on his elder brother, Aiden could not help but laugh at the male's problem.
"At least you have a sibling. My house is always quiet...which explains why I'm generally here instead of there. I think you two need to have a heart-to-heart. Some quality brother time so that you can clear your heads."
