Rosewrite shuffled his front hooves as he stood just outside of Fruit Punch's door. He double checked his hair and breath. Wait a minute, was his breathing normal? He had calmed himself once again. All day he had been in something of a tizzy. Why was he so nervous about all of this? Well besides this being his first date.... and it being with a phony that was so forward with his attentions. Not that he minded. It was nice to have a phony interested in him, verses just his hair or something. Then again Spica was interested in him too... wasn't she? That was a whole other can that he didn't want to open. He was asked on a date and he planned to enjoy it. Unless he mess up somehow... Oh no. He hoped that he wouldn't do anything to stupid. This had to be the perfect place for a first date, after all. He wasn't one to go out, none the less to a club or something where he would have to awkwardly dance with FP, though dancing wouldn't be bad either. Ugh.. his brain was all over the place.

It a saddle bag, Rose brought along a bottle of wine that he had been saving for a special occasion. Fruit being a mixologist; he was sure the date would not be lacking in alcohol. He didn't drink much, so this was going to be an interesting night. His face flushed thinking about what happened when phonies tended to drink too much... He needed to distract himself by going ahead and starting this date. He finally lifted a hoof and knocked on the door, and waited for his date to answer.

User Image Fruit Punch was equally excited and also a bit nervous about this date like the stallion just outside his door was. First of all: wow, he had actually scored a date with someone; not that his odds were incredibly low given his success as a business owner and his popularity because of said job. It just felt pretty crazy after the emotional roller coaster he'd gone through with Hydrangea to be seeing someone that wasn't, well... Hyd. Secondly, he was inviting said date into his home when during his usual tactics for seeing another phony he'd much rather be out somewhere away from his house unless they were coming back to, ahem-- bump hooves, if you catch my drift. It was just easier for the redheaded unicorn to be his outgoing and charming self when he didn't have to worry about things like if his home was clean enough or if his pantry and fridge were appropriately stocked. Appearances meant a lot in his mind and if he wasn't up to standard Fruit Punch felt like a total loser.

He was busy making sure that the living room was tidy, using his magic to ensure that the pillows on his black plush leather couch were appropriately fluffed when he heard a knock at the door. Rosewrite was here! Running over to the mirror on the wall he quickly check his hair and features to ensure he didn't look frazzled before he went over to the front door to answer it. When he did, he immediately smiled upon seeing his date. "Hey, Rosewrite. Welcome to my humble abode. I hope it wasn't too difficult to find. This neighborhood is a little tricky at night." He stepped backward so that he could let the earth phony inside, waiting for Rose to come in before he shut and locked the door behind his guest.

He lead the way to the spacious living room where his big screen was, their primary spot for tonight. He gestured to the ottoman with a hoof, "You can put your bag here, Rose. Can I get you anything to drink, or any snacks?" It was his primary goal to make Rosewrite comfortable first, and then the unicorn was going to become more relaxed. He didn't outwardly betray his worries, keeping his expression calm and inviting like he did with customers at the bar.

As Fruit Punch opened the door, and greeted him with that award winning smile, Rose finally felt like he was able to take a breath and relax. Rose, in return, gave a smile and thanked his date. Walking in he took in the sights of the very open living room. It was much lighter than he expected for the seductively charming FP. None the less, it was a very suave and very well put together home… A lot nicer than his. His home was littered with books and plants. He was almost embarrassed to think of Fruit coming over to his house in it’s current condition.“I managed okay. I suppose there was too many other things on my mind to stress out about where I’m walking.” He gave a bit of a shrug and a easy-going laugh. Walking in a little further, he set his bag down just beside the ottoman. “Oh it’s nothing much, but I brought a bottle of wine. I’m sure you could create something a lot tastier so I’m happy to drink whatever you put down in front of me.” Rose said, before opening his bag and setting the wine bottle on a table closer to Fruit. “It probably needs to breath a little bit anyway.”

“So did you have anything planned for our movie tonight? I’m afraid I didn’t bring anything of my own.” He said with a flick of his floor length tail and a shy smile. He was tentative before siting down on the leather couches, so instead decided to walk a little closer to his date. No problem in that right?

The unicorn blinked slowly, a little surprised that Rosewrite would say that he was worried about something while on his way here. Could it have been the date that the earth phony was thinking about? Oh god, FP hoped that nothing he'd said or done had possibly intimidated Rose... Hopefully, it was just a bit of the jitters and nothing more serious than that. At least he wouldn't be the only one concerned about making everything perfect tonight, if that was the case. He looked over the bottle that was presented on the table, noticing that it was actually from a higher quality vineyard. He hadn't expected Rosewrite to be willing to share something that nice with him, and that made him smile. "Well, my plan is to kick back and relax so no worries. Just make yourself at home here. And wine is perfect, actually. I haven't had any in a while and that looks like a great brand to me."

The bartender had a little habit of sipping while on duty, so liquor was often a party of his weekly alcoholic consumption. He didn't have refined drinks like wine often because normally he bar hopped or went to a club to party. "It's alright if you didn't bring any movies, I've got a whole collection here. I have pretty eclectic tastes when it comes to film, so I have stuff from foreign monster movies to really cheesy romance movies. You can pick whatever you want, and I'll be right back in a second to get us some glasses for the wine." He lead Rosewrite over to the tv stand, opening up the drawers to show the stallion his DVD collection. When the other began to look through the selection he walked away and into the kitchen to get a pair of wine glasses and a corkscrew.

Rosewrite nodded. He was more than happy to sit back, drink some alcohol and then watch a movie. But what movie? It had been forever since he watched something for pure enjoyment. Oh, like Little Shop of Horrors? Rose loved that musical. He sometimes just listened to the soundtrack while working. Then there is A Midnight In Paris…. anything Studio Ghibli or Disney. He followed FP over to the stand and then peered in the cabinet. Rose was sucked in there were so many choices and such a wide range. He hummed to himself as he skimmed over the selection.

“Frozen? You have Disney movies?” Rosewrite said out loud in FP’s general direction. “I haven’t had the time to see this one so we could...watch it if you wanted.” The stallion mentioned as he drabbed the DVD case looking over the back of it before finding a seat on the couch. “You know, I’ve also heard of Disney drinking games so maybe we could look one up or if you can anything we can drink to from it? Can you do that with wine?” He said letting his tail idly swish waiting for Fruit to settle in.

Fruit Punch was only gone for a minute or so as he got everything he needed to get this date started off right, pouring wine into their glasses and carrying them ala uni magic before he returned to the living room. He responded to Rose's question with a grin. "You picked one of my favorites, and yes, I will sing to every song." It was nice to have someone over that he could be silly with again, and he really was glad that Rosewrite had come to see him tonight.

The white stallion sat down on the couch after giving Rosewrite his wine glass, using magic to pop in the DVD and get the movie going. He couldn't help but take a preliminary sip of his own drink early on. "I've conveniently already used this same strategy for other Disney movies, but I can modify it for Frozen. How about we drink every time Elsa rejects Anna, when Elsa loses control, and every time Olaf calls Kristoff Sven? That oughta be a good start." He didn't know what exactly was Rose's alcohol tolerance, but he certainly didn't want his date to poison himself on their first date.
