 This might be a good place for eggs, but not so much unattended firelizard eggs. Perhaps the thieves took an idea from the recent clutch and hid some eggs under the sand. That’s a lot of sand to look through, never mind the stands too. At least they couldn’t be hidden up on the dragon ledges. Could they? How To PlayA player can have as many characters in each area as they like, but each character can only be in one area at a time. To try and find an egg roll a ten sided dice, 9 or 10 is successful in finding an egg. Now you can gain bonuses by working together. If multiple players’ characters interact and are shown to be helping each other, each player gets +1 to their roll for every other player helping them. That’s player, not character. Players who have already found an egg can still roleplay helping others and give them bonuses, but cannot keep rolling for a second egg. If you are successful in your roll, pick which egg you would like from the top of the page and state it in your post. What your character does with the egg after finding it is up to them, they can return it to the fair or sneak off with it to keep it for themselves. Quote: ExamplesRocellia rolls a 5. Nobody wants to help her, so she doesn’t find an egg. Better luck next time. Dizzian rolls a 7. She’s being helped by R’yn and Ashlyn, which gives her +2, making her score 9. Way to go Dizzian, you found yourself an egg. K’gus rolls a 10 all by himself and wins an egg without any help from anyone. You show ‘em, K’gus. - Each player can only win one egg per area - Only posts with roleplays will be counted - Do not make another roll if you have not filled in the roleplay of previous rolls. - Firelizards impress to the player that found the egg, they cannot be given to other characters or players - No pressuring or harassing other players - ICA = ICC - Have fun

Jedith landed on a ledge and slithered down to the hatching sands to begin snuffling from the edge and working his way to the center. K'star trailed around the edges, his feet remembered how hot those sands were and Jedith would be very careful not to step on anything. Who better then a dragon to find an egg, and in this particular area he at least fit.
"Good luck Jedith."
Jedith nosed the sand, moving it around and checking in the furrows he tried to feel if he dislodged anything with a smooth shell. Occasionally he snorted sand out of his nostrils. Pffew. This just made his rider snicker and tell him not to inhale so hard.
For a moment he thought he had found something but it was an old ancient piece of dragonshell. Well it was almost right, he should get points for 'had been an egg once right?"

Eggs should be on hot Sands Mine The green stated calmly. She sat at the entrance to the hatchings sands. Regal as ever as she watched her rider hunting around.
Lathis grinned at her dragon, looking up from her search. "Which is why we's in here ain't it?" She hoped she could find an egg to make the large green happy. Did the green want a flit for herself, for Lathis, or just because everyone else was looking. It was pretty funny to watch people looking all over the Weyr for some prettily colored eggs.

Jedith toted his find over to his rider who sniggered a little.
"I think we are about twenty turns late for that egg Jedith, but a very neat find indeed." He smoothed his thumb over the inside of a shell which had once held a dragon, it was pretty crunchy for being here so long so he set it down, perhaps someone else would be interested in it.
"You found anything else out there?"
Jedith swung his head around and K'star brushed some of the sand off his snout. "Just sand huh?"
Jedith snorted and marched back onto the sands. K'star playfully tugged on his tail as he passed. Jedith's eyes whirled happily as he went back to where he was and continued to make a snout trail through the sand.
It looked to K'star as if his dragon was doodling over the hatching sands. Well, he thought, the nose knows.

Koioth twitched her tail as she saw the blue snuffing around the sands. I hope you don't step on one before you find it, the green commented to the blue also hunting.
Lathis checked a noticably larger pile of sand that might hold an egg when she noticed her hunting companion. She waved to the blue's rider. "Looking too? Seems Koioth wasn't the only one to think eggs belong on the sands."

Me either Jedith replied, I'm trying to check the places where my feet go as I move along.
"Haha! Yes, he wasn't going to complain, he likes the warm sands, my feet are more sensitive. He just soaks up all the warmth like a big blue sponge.
I am not a sponge mine, I am a dragon, there is a big difference. For one thing, sponges don't have noses.
K'star snickered and half heartedly admonished "Back to sniffing you."
"We managed to find one in the stables. Jedith couldn't fit so I had to look. We got lucky an old girl had it hid in her stall."

The green simply twitched her tail again. She liked heat too, but this was something she was going to leave to Hers. I see. Koioth turned her attention back to Hers.
"Well good for him with helping! I'm sure most dragons would be afraid of breaking the egg before they found it. I don't think anyone has checked the stands yet," Lathis offered to him. Without finding many signs down in the sands, she was wondering if perhaps they were in other places.

"He is a very careful dragon. How about we search along the edge? I'll help you while Jedith handles the actual sands, my feet are tender in the heat and hes really excited about looking."
Jedith continued to look around, now he spiraled out on the sands starting from the center and radiating out wards. Nothing here, nothing there.. oh wait what was that.. he sidled closer to check it out.

Koioth heaved a sigh. Of course I was going to suggest you go look together with him Mine. It'll probably be faster with more eyes. She could see the benefit for them both.
"I'm glad he's careful." Lathis grinned at the blue, "I leave the sands in your capable paws!" She moved gratefully off the hot sands and onto the cooler steps. "Thanks, want me to check this row and you can check that one?" Oh it was much cooler up here.

"Yeah! That'll work!" He bent over and started to walk down his row. "Ew half of someone's old roll. Blegh. These things need cleaned more often." He glanced up, "When do you think these will hatch? The shell was moderately hard on the one I found, how many days do you think?"
It was Jedith's turn to snicker at his rider, no old rolls down here just many memories of beautiful hatching days and... hmmm what was that smell. He made a right angle and started following the scent.

Koioth kept an eye on the blue. Watch that hill by your back foot. She wasn't about to let him step on an egg.
She snickered. "I'm surprised the flits didn't find that one. Ugh I think this is a dirty diaper! No wonder the flits didn't find it." The drudges hadn't cleaned up the stands very well. She might say something to the headwoman about it. It didn't look good for the Weyr's image.
The teen moved further down the row, keeping pace with K'star. She looked up at him in surprise when he mentioned he'd found one already. "Oh, I don't know. Never had a flit before. What did you do with the first one?" She paused to check under a seat.

"Oh!" There were already adult riders searching the sands. Well she and venaith were small and hopefully the two wouldn't objct to their presence.
Venaith trilled a hello the two dragons despite her riders sudden bout of shyness. Hello! I am Venaith. Mine and I would like to join you in your hunt. We hope there will be no problems. She spoke respectfully though with an ease that said they would be there if they wanted to be anyways. She spoke directly to Koioth though Jedith was included.
Paige blushed but smiled at the two riders as she dug with her toes at the bottom of the poles supporting the stands.

Wen looked out at the hatching stands, taking in the vast expanse of sand, more sand, and hot sand at that. He hmm, tucking his braid more firmly under his cap and slowly approached the people searching the sands. "Hello."
Wyleth bonded at his heels, the playful blue smirking the best he could.

Venaith trumpeted in excitement. Another of her clutch! A blue, but a fine one! Wyleth! I am glad and proud to see you here helping in the recovery of that poor firelizard's offspring! Mine and I would be glad of the assistance, and offer our own in return!
Paige snerked at Venaith. It amused her endlessly when the gold went all 'noble'. Where she got some of her vocabulary Paige wouldn't know. She was a harper sure, but she'd only ever paid attention in music class. Well, ok. She did like to read and maybe that was it. But she was no diplomat to speak in such a way. "Hey Wen!" Paige waved at her fellow weyrling.
