It hadn't taken Zascha long to find his way to the stairs. Long, winding stairs that descended into silence. The sound of his foot steps echoing against the walls as he made his way down, careful of each step. He was still just a little groggy from waking up.

His hand ran along the wall as he walked. Down, down. It seemed to go on forever. But that was impossible as before he knew it he was standing at the bottom of the stairs. In a small room. Couldn't be more than ten feet in each direction.

Green eyes squinted into the darkness, barely lit by a single torch. He was kind of getting tired of the dark. Soon as he could he was going to go outside and enjoy some sunshine on his skin. He shivered lightly, rubbing his arms. Yea, sun would be nice.

It wasn't until he drew closer to the wall that he began to notice small stone tablets littered it's face. Just a bit smaller than the size of his open hand. And they had strange, glowing symbols upon them. Zascha brushed the side of his hand against one. The shape upon it glowing brighter. Was that a weapon? His lips pursed lightly as he leaned in for a closer look. But soon his attention was drawn to something else. Another tablet not too far away seemed to glow brighter. A whisper in the back of his mind.

Drawing closer, he gave it a light tough. Running his fingers over the symbol upon it as the whispers grew louder but still unclear.

"A spear?" As if answering his question the tablet fell into his hand. A vision filled his mind, wings. Wings of fire and razor talons.

Took you long enough. I thought I was going to have to figure out how to get up and dance to get you here.

The voice seemed, shockingly disgruntled. Zascha blinked.

Hello...? Heeelllooooooooooooo?!

"Yes yes hello."

Well aren't you a looker. Not too smart it seems but we can work with that yes.

Scratching at his cheek, he laughed lightly. "Hey now, I'll have you know I'm smarter than I look."

Sure thing hot pants.

"Hot pants?"

Ugh, never mind. Just get me out of here already. I'm itching for some action. And please, try not to embarrass me too much. I get that you are a work in progress but I'd rather not die cause you just so happen to trip and fall flat on your face.

He felt like she was squinting at him judgingly. "I'm Zascha by the way."

Gothsmog. She grinned wickedly. Not that he could see it, but she was pretty sure her new partner could feel it.

"What kind of name is that? Gothsmog..."

ITS THE NAME OF SOMEONE WHO WILL KICK YOUR a** IF YOU DON'T STOP ASKING DUMB QUESTIONS!

Zascha scoffed at that. Kick his a**? She was joking right?

No I'm not joking. I don't have to help you you know. I could just....refuse to work and then you'd see what the ******** I'm talking about.

"So you can read my mind...."

For the most part. Just please don't think about anything..........gross.

He could almost feel her shudder. Well, in all truth he hadn't really thought about that kind of stuff in a long time. At least it felt like a long time. But those were the least of his concerns for the moment. There were bigger things to be focused on right now.

Yes, focus on that.
