tab tab Aliandressa was born as the second child to the rulers of the Unseelie court of Afaerie. She was not exactly planned, but once her mother had known she was coming, hey could not give her up. Especially considering the importance of faerie children. When she was born, Aliandressa was considered a fitful child, fussing often and crying almost constantly. It was as if she demanded attention to herself, and didn't want to be forgotten. Given her mother's love, it might of even been her birth and infantile raising that caused the people of Afaerie to turn away from voting up the Unseelie court as dominant ruling house, to choose the Seelie in their stead. After all, those without imperfections were few and far between, but the glistening people must have had their way.
As she grew up, she began picking distance between her parents, and began gaining a closer proximity to her brother. Her parents were busy with politics and maintaining their half of the followers and people of Afaerie. Everyone that was shunned by the perfect, glowing people of the Seelie were welcome in the Unseelie. Her parents were quite busy, which left Aliandressa with free time that she spent with servants, nursemaids, and her brother. She clung to him desperately for affections, starting to realize that she could not have everyone's attention every minute of the day, and that when she had time, it was far better than having none because she'd annoyed her favorite source of company.
She was raised and schooled to be a grand political opponent and she took her studies very seriously, pouring over books late into the night. She played with children that had horns from their head, and scales on their flesh. She was raised with an Unseelie mind, knowing that all the people of Afaerie were beautiful and unique in their own way, even if it meant that the glimmering Seelie looked down upon them. One of her friends, a strange serpent like girl by the name of Kylian. Though her time playing with Kylian, Aliandressa began using her middle name with other children. It was hard for Kylian to pronounce her name with the strange way the girl slurred her S's together, and so Orchid was a better choice and less of a mouthful to speak. One day, after the two had grown sufficiently close to one another, Orchid managed to escape her watchful guardians to go and play with Kylian. What she found was less than fun. two older Seelie boys had found Kylian and began to pick on her trapping her in a small space and were throwing rocks into the small space at the frantic girl who screeched and cried with abandon. Orchid, being herself, dashed in to help her friend, smacking at the two Seelie boys who retaliated violently towards her, starting to throw large stones at her as well. One of them found a shimmering edge of a bone handled weapon. The metal on the other end was strange and warped, taking on a rounded pattern that looked like scales. the heat was hot enough to burn flesh, which is what they did, until Orchid screeched, and her guardians came to her rescue. The boys were punished, but Orchid was left with a scale patterned scar that scored much of the back of her upper left thigh.
Deeming it to dangerous for her to wander out alone without direct supervision, Orchid was confined to her home and not allowed to play with any children that were not well-mannered ambassadors children. Orchid quickly grew bored of their stuffy air and turned her back upon having friends at all outside of her beloved brother. She doted on him and pined for his attention, soaking up every second she could as she continued to follow the course of her studies as a future political party for the Unseelie. As she grew, Orchid blossomed in ways befitting of her name. Her figure grew taller, and she stayed lean and thin, almost wispy, though her hair grew long and she took on womanly parts. Her skin stayed pale, and her hair, though black, seemed to pale with her, most likely due for the amount of time spent inside rather than outside. She matured nicely, leaving most childish things behind as she moved on through adolescence, keeping her scars, and learning form new mistakes.
One day, when she was freshly a teen, she went out with her brother for a bit of sport. It was something Orchid had not gotten to do in a very long time, so she was thrilled to be able to spend time outside of the Unseelie home with her sibling. They went out to explore surrounding lands of their home, making merry enjoyment out of the day they were privileged to spend together. However, on their return trip dissidents driven by petty madness caused a stir, rebelling against guards around the palace and causing a stir just outside the safety of their home. Orchid, frightened by this violent madness was driven back from the frightening scene ahead of her. Worse came when the dissidents began turning their violent attention away from the guards and twoards Orchid and her brother. IN the end, her brother was fatally wounded. Desperate for the only source of comfort she seemed to have that she felt was true, orchid used her abilities in a burst to save her brother. She wasn't even aware she had so much power in her, but the way she managed was unhealthy. She not only saved her brother, but kept them bnoth safe formt eh remaining dissidents. it caused her sanity to crack, filling her in that instant with that touchable madness.
When she awoke, her brother was safe, and nothing seemed wrong, until the next time she was sick. So began the process of Orchid's condition. There have been instances where it has been obvious that she has something wrong with her, and she has even confided to her brother and a few closer servants of her affliction, but she tries her best to keep it hidden so that no one may find out about her condition, especially with the impending path that she would have to follow.
Since that day, Orchid has forced solitude on herself. She only speaks sparingly to her brother and has shut out virtually everyone else. She prefers books and quiet as her company and dreads disappointing her mother and father by failing the marriage laid before her. She would also be devastated if she ruined any chance of happiness for her brother, and so, she keeps to herself as much as possible, trying to scrap by on the skills she has learned, and the abilities and connections she has now.
◊ ▬ personality ||
tab tab Aliandressa, preferably called Orchid, is often quite withdrawn. She is quiet and reserved, more often than not because there are things happening within her mind that require more of her attention. On the outside, she often seems aloof and distant, but she attempts to be very attentive. She cares deeply about her family, and even the people of Afaerie, even if they have chosen Seelie to rule. She has strong opinions, but more often than not keeps them to herself, and shares them with a small few, such as her brother.
She is creative, thinking of the future, and is very nurturing, wanting to help everyone she can, even when it means that she is not safe. She has a penchant for underdogs, standing up for those too weak to say anything so they don't have to exert themselves. She has a strong sense of morals and an optimistic outlook on life for others, even though sometimes she is hypocritical in the way that she does not hold the same views for herself. However, she does not show this anyone except her brother at times.

tab tab ♫ Healing Magic: Golden Corona
Using her strength as a healer, Orchid is an advanced level healer. She can heal major injuries, mend broken bones and clear blockages in blood-flowing passages. With her training she can use her magic to diagnose most problems with her patients, and focus her energy on solving the problem. She has even been known to bring individuals back form the brink of death, but it is very rare that she can. Though she is powerful she DOES NOT have the ability to bring people back from the dead.
♫ Tinctures and Herbs
Orchid, given her preferred exclusion and solitude form people, has had much time to do a lot of reading. She's well versed in many things, but specializes in herbs, salves, and tinctures, given her the added boost of being book smart and gifted as a healer.
♫ Politico Manifesto
Orchid, despite not being a huge people person, is very well versed on the issues at hand in the land of Afaerie. Though she doesn't speak, she had very keen ears and listens to even the maids and lower chatter about the wrongs being done by the Seelie court. She's though up solutions for the issues, and has them backed up by the policies she needs to change, and is overall a well-suited political opponent, or secondary for Afaerie.
◊ ▬ weakness ||
tab tab ☪ Healing Magic: Corona's Exchange
When Orchid uses her advanced level of healing, and extends her abilities over a large period or time, or a multitude of serious injuries, she puts herself at risk of burning out. Given that it takes a lot of magic not only to see a person's injuries, but also to heal them, she sometimes loses control of her focus, and the magic is drawn out of her, burning her out faster.
☪ The Unseelie Curse
Gifted with her abilities, it was only a matter of time before something happened to taint them one way or another. When Orchid was younger, she and her beloved brother were out on an excursion in the lands of Afaerie. Some recreant Unseelie closer to Madness attacked. Given her brother's bravery, he took the brunt of the attack and was gravely injured. In a panic, Orchid, quite untrained given her age at the time, hurled much of her magic into saving her brother's life and healing his injuries. It took too heavy a toll on her, as her powers burst form her, and left her with a tinge of madness. She now hears voices when she uses too much magic or is physically weak, and they attack her psyche.
☪ Solitude's Price
While Orchid is very intelligent in the manner of politics, healing, and history on her own, she's terrible in the public eye. She's rather socially awkward, preferring the company of her brother, and not many more. She avoids social obligations as much as possible and doesn't like when she is called to them, even though she wants to make a difference in the political standing of Afaerie.
☪ Brooding Beauty
Orchid, while optimistic, has a second tag-a-long effect to her Curse. When she begins hearing voices, and she gets weaker, she sometimes is susceptible to the darker moods and madness that come along with whatever the voices suggest and they overwhelm her, making her act like the moods she experiences.
◊ ▬ anything else? ||
tab tab ❀ She's very tall and waif-like, if that wasn't already obvious.
❀ She's devoted to her brother, and would do pretty much anything he asked of her no matter the consequences, except tell him why she hears voices.
❀ She tries to hide her condition from her brother, and everyone else.
❀ Though she's very politically smart, and wants the Unseelie people to rule over Afaerie, she has no desire to be the Queen, and would rather her brother be the King.
❀ Orchid, never, ever wears shoes of any kind. Not even slippers or stockings. If she can't feel the earth beneath her feet, she doesn't move. (Save for bedtime, when her feet are tucked into her bed).
