It had been days since it happened. Otto had kept himself cooped up, spent hours and hours crying, or napping. Watching movies, listening to music and writing and drawing in his newly formed 'dream journal'. He'd let out every ugly thought, vision and feeling out of his system. All but his rage. Otto showered, put on clean sweat pants and a sleeveless shirt. He slipped on his sneakers, and marched with purpose to the Sun Training course. He needed to vent out his sadness and despair physically. He needed to do something that wasn't curling up in his fortress of blankets. He didn't want to move on. He just wanted to tear things apart.

America had been getting ready to try the Run once more. Even if she was in Moon, now, it felt like unfinished business. Plus she wanted to be familiar as hell with it for the promised next time with Taym. Stretching her arms a bit to warm up for the gauntlet of shadow creeps that awaited, the girl caught sight of Otto and paused. For a moment she seemed ready to tell him looked like s**t.
Then America remembered the most likely reason why he'd look that way, and her expression fell.
"Oh, honey," she said, "...already?"

Otto caught sight of America once she'd called to him, grimacing in response. "I can't stay in my room another minute. Everything reminds me of her.." He sniffled, rubbing his arm and rotating his shoulder.
"I dunno what else to do, so..." He'd exhausted all other things he could think of to deal with his life after Nevada. Training seemed like a next step. Focusing on physical activity instead of all the mental stuff he'd done over the last few days.
He coughed, trying not to let himself fall apart again. It was too easy lately. The raw pain wouldn't leave him alone.

"Yeah, sometimes you just gotta move," America agreed with a knowing air. "You going in the Run to hit the s**t out of s**t? If you are, I'll join you." It wasn't a request, because as much as she understood the need to move, she also understood how easy it was to get lost in it. To the point where things got dangerous. Otto was ******** badass with Tenya in hand, but even badasses had off days, and the boy seemed a fair bit beyond that.

Otto nodded. Tenya agreed. Someone to watch out for Otto while his state of mind was so shaky brought the weapon some comfort. Their bond was shaky since he'd received the key, and she knew his usual strength was stunted from his former glory. Otto breathed in shakily, stepping into the training course. "Ladies first." WE ARE HALLOWEEN Sun Hunter SHADOW RUN General Information The Shadow Run is both the simplest and most dangerous training course that can be run without a golem. A flurry of continuous attacks is what the Sun Division holds in highest respect, and the course reflects that. The course itself is a simple tunnel, reached via portal. Within the tunnel await hundreds of weak, hungry shadowlings. Nothing to worry about on their own, but capable of overwhelming a Hunter through sheer numbers at the first moment of weakness. At the other end of the tunnel is another portal, leading back to the course observation booth.
If you fail: your character is KO'd, but there's always a senior hunter in the observation booth with enhanced bandages at the ready. They should reach you in time. Really. Trained and trusty professionals on-hand 24/7.
If you win: peen points and bragging rights to those who take out the greatest number of shadowlings and go the most turns without needing to attempt a recovery maneuver.
Mechanics You must get through 5 waves of attacks to make it through the tunnel. Simply roll for attack as you would in battle. If you miss, your character falters in their attacking and is overwhelmed by shadowlings. After 3 successful hits, you may use your weapon's charge attack.
Bonus Mechanics This bonus is consumable. The bonus in this course is in the form of "recoveries" ~ these are would-be missed attacks that are quickly recovered and turned into a successful hit. Basically, they can miss once and roll again for an extra try. If you keep consecutively missing, though, and run out of recoveries, it's lights out. These do not equal an automatic pass for a round, you still have to land a successful hit to proceed.

Stepping in first, America summoned Stryker in a golden flash, the ball snapping out to clear an entry into the tunnel. As she moved, she asked, "How'd she go?" Because as long as they had something else to focus on, as long as they were moving and moving with purpose, she could ask without it becoming the only thought in the room between them. Otto grimaced at her question, Tenya's giant form summoned at the ready to attack. "Zombie tore her apart. Right in ******** front of me." His voice nearly broke. Swarms came at him. He froze. The bugs from his artifact mission came back to haunt him in flashes of memories attacking his sight. He couldn't move. He'd fail here just as he'd failed then. He'd failed Nevada because of his uselessness. < >
Otto gasped and ran past them in fear.

"Christ," America hissed. "Where the ******** did a zombie come from?" Turning to try and help Otto, the girl found herself tackled down by a pile of the shadows and then knocked back to the beginning to the course once again. "She went to the Haunted House, even though she was... yanno.." He gritted his teeth, swinging away enemies. "I went after her and tried to protect her, but the house put an invisible wall between me n' her. It trapped her with that student." Alex. He growled and ripped through another handful of shadowlings. He saw America get overwhelmed, forced to start anew and winced. Catching up to Otto once more, she gave the hunter a grim little smile. "So she went out fighting? Can't say I blame her for wanting that." America kicked a shadow out of the way, "Except I ******** do, bad enough you have to lose her, but watch it too?" There was a sort of bitter sympathy in her voice, <******** zombies." They were the worst. She'd yet to really fight one herself, but everything in her was upset and disgusted by their existence. Go out fighting. If only she had been so lucky to have that option. She went down terrified and screaming, torn apart before his eyes. He was mad again. Angry. He gripped Tenya tightly, twirling her above his head so fast her blades were nothing but a blur. He hurled her through the air, letting her fly through batches of shadowlings as he ran through the cleared out path. The boomerang, by it's nature, returned back to Otto's grasp mid stride. "Not just any zombie. Alex. That kid is dead when I see him next. Double dead." Status Wave: 3 Attack Dmg: 11 Total Shadowlings taken out: 22 Recoveries left:

"Well," America commented, "...I guess finding him and doing that, means using those Death skills again." She grinned, fiercely at the strength of his attack, "And Sun too." She dispatched a nice cluster of shadows, chain wrapping and trapping them until they were squeezed into pieces. "Looks like they underestimated you." "If it hadn't been for the ******** wall, I coulda used my damn skills, and she'd still be alive." He growled, his brows knit tightly and forming hard lines in his otherwise youthful features. Shadlowlings were nothing. Small fry. If he was downed by something so small and weak, than there really was no hope for him.
