Resupply Mission 5B Location: Shopping Mall; Specific Location Unknown Images:: x, x, x. General debriefing: With the holiday season fast approaching, the division leaders have a very important tasks for hunters willing to step up to the challenge: brave the holiday season crowds and get some things for them. In addition, hunters are also tasked with escorting a golem fashioned after the division leader they're shopping for. Hunters will then task this golem with trying on clothes to ensure a good fit. Mission Budget: Hunters will be issued a prepaid debit card to use. All unspent funds will be returned to Deus Ex. Any additional clothes a hunter purchases for either their division lead or themselves will come out of their own pocket. * E class difficulty level (anyone may attempt; all hunters regardless of rank will be monitored])
MECHANICS
* MECHANICS: - As you enter to pick up the mission, the Hunter at the lighthouse portal stops you. "Sorry, we're doing luck of the draw here." He points to a six-sided dice. A literal, six sided dungeons and dragons dice that they probably stole from Mark. - RP rolling the dice for luck. There is an actual IC list of what the dices match up to: 1 = Allan, 2 = Aria, 3= Caelius, 4 = H, 5 = Edith, 6 = you choose, lucky you. - After you take the gamble, the Hunter on portal duty will activate a princess golem and a shopping list. The princess golem is because the division leads hate mistakes, so any clothing you get for them better be a perfect fit and match. Once there, your hunter (and golem) will be dropped off at a mall. Roll 5d20 to determine what shops you get (see below). Visit the online site/catalogue of these sites to do your shopping, and try to get stuff which you think best matches who you have to shop for. - Remember to refer to the request list to ensure that you're getting everything you need for that person - If you go with more than one person, each person needs a golem (duplicates are up to you, otherwise you may reroll if you feel the RP would benefit better from different golems). Every golem will come with a separate budget. The only thing you and your group will share are the stores you get. - * Golem Reactions: Occasionally the golem will spout a random phrase, as well as react positively/negatively to what you have selected. See list of predisposed dialogue, which you can use further down. All golems use the same dialogue, they are princess golems after all!
Budget* - Using the stores you rolled for below, you must try to get all the items while staying in budget. Budget will depend on the golem; each golem has a different prepaid card/budget amount. Simply browse the online catalogs provided, or improvise with items you think could be found in those stores. If you don't, any additional items must come out of your own paycheck, ouch. Good luck getting something as close as possible to the contents on the list (if you can't find anything, improvise!). Also the lighthouse sentries aren't letting you back until you actually fulfill the list, out of respect and a healthy dose of fear. - You can buy more than one item from the store. - You can buy your own hunter additional items or purchase additional items for the lead golems out of pocket. Who knows? It might pay off in the long run...

Golem phrases: Roll when entering a store/trying on a new piece of clothing. Improvise when needed, ie "I'm not wearing that" when entering a store can be tweaked to "I'm not wearing anything from here." "Not bad." Effect: Golem approves of your choice. "We're not going in there." Effect: Reroll a store. "I'm not wearing that." Effect: Pick a new item. "My star barrettes are fabulous!" Effect: None. "I want that one instead." Effect: Look at the item you're viewing on the page. Move two items left. Your golem wants that item instead. "Let's go over here!" Effect: Your golem drags you to another store. Reroll if entering, roll again if you just purchased something. "Wait. I forgot something! We're going back." Effect: Return to a previous store. If you get this on the first roll, visit the first store twice. Due to a very fussy golem, if you receive this three times you can ignore it from the fourth roll onward. The golem will be very sulky afterwards and may act like a giant wo/man-child but hey, thems the lil breaks. You also don't need to roll again, provided you haven't bought nothing yet. "Let's take a break. My treat." Effect: "My treat" is a filthy lie. You spend 15 min at a cafe being watched uncomfortably by the golem as it attempts small chatter. Lose -$5 from your paycheck. At least the golem didn't blow its own cover by trying to eat something. If entering a store, you're pulled away before you can go in. If purchasing something, you're dragged to one immediately after. "Aren't you missing something?" Effect: Lose something you've purchased. If you've purchased nothing, you lose the list. "Hey, nice job!" Effect: The golem is pretty happy. "...You're joking." Effect: The golem is sulking. "Does this make my butt look big?" Effect: The golem is insecure and is looking for a compliment. "So, what are your plans?" Effect: Is the golem attempting to hit on you, or is it sincerely asking you what you want to do as a hunter?! "Can you suggest something for me?" Effect: Pick something out. Roll 1d4. Even, the golem is happy and accepts the suggestion. Buy it. Odd, the golem rejects it. "What do you think of this?" Effect: The golem randomly picks something out. Roll 1d4. Even, the golem is happy and buys it. Odd, the golem looks disappointed and puts it back. "Hey. You try this on too." Effect: The golem forces you to wear the latest outfit/clothing item you purchased. "You should change your outfit too." Effect: The golem forces you into purchasing a whole new outfit and wear it for the duration of the mission. "ERROR QUERY: LOCATION? INPUT NEEDED." Effect: The golem looks at you blankly as shoppers around at you give you an odd look as they begin to whisper among themselves. Choose a store, any store. "..." Effect: The golem is giving you a heavy, cold stare. You feel shamed. "I want two of these." Effect: Double the next item on the list, ie you need two now.
* 3 mission reward points for completing this successfully. If you do not get all of the items, 1 mission reward point + look of pity from the Lighthouse Hunters, plus three days of toilet cleaning.
In addition, for going on this mission you may also choose to shop FOR YOURSELF and update your hunter's wardrobe/things. It'll come out of your own pay check however.
If you lose the list: -$25 is deducted from your paycheck before a Hunter pulls you aside and teaches you how to back the list up on your phone. If the list was on your phone to start with, -$200 to purchase a replacement phone.
Tips/Suggestions:
To move at a faster rate, roll 3d20: first roll represents what store you're going into, the second the golem's opinion of the store, and the last is the golem's reaction to buying an item. Not recommended if you're doing it in groups since doing this pretty much means you're soloing the entire time.
Can I choose which store to enter first? That's fine. Think of the stores you roll = the least crowded. Assume you have only 2 IC hours to do this, so the stores that are open/least crowded = best chance to get everything done.
Can I buy more than one item at a store? Yes, but be sure to roll a golem response for each item purchased!
Feng frowned down at his phone as it lit up with an alert. A mission? He shrugged on his coat and headed down to the lighthouse, clutching his phone tightly. As soon as he got there, he was stopped by a senior hunter.
"Sorry, we're doing luck of the draw here."
Feng turned with him to look at the literal game die and frowned. Really? That didn't seem very professional. But he supposed if that's what he needed to do...
He rolled the die and the other hunter looked over his shoulder and the name and hummed. "This one's your's then."
"Thanks," Feng said quietly looking over the list. A pregnancy test? He didn't even know where to begin looking for that! He took a step towards the portal, but the hunter stopped him again. "Hold up, you're not done."
He stepped back, and Dr. H was there. Feng paled. "You're going to need this golem to get all the right stuff. Have fun, kid."
Feng stepped through the portal with the golem following him, worrying at his lip with his teeth. This was going to be a disaster.

Chel arrived at the portal, still a bit wigged out from her dream experiences. She saw another hunter arrive at the same spot, so she assumed they were partners.
"Hey are you-" The portal hunter instructed her to roll a dice. Weird, but she did. She was then handed a credit card and a shopping list. "Am I seriously doing some chump's-"
Again she was cut off as the twosome was ushered through the portal. On the other side awaited a golem in the likeness of Aria. Chel looked down to her list.
It was all girly s**t.
Chel slouched a bit more in her demeanor and said to the other hunter, "Let's get this over with."
As another hunter stepped through after him, he nearly ran. He knew that pink hair. That pink hair had beat him up.
However, he had no idea where to buy all this crap, and he could probably use the help. "This mission sucks," he told her, holding up the list. "I don't know where to find any of this." He looked down at the slip of paper and then back up towards the stores. Madame Paulette's was on the list, so he supposed he should start there. "I'm gonna go this way? Maybe?"

Chel nodded and followed the guy, but instead turned and walked away when she noticed there was a Radio Shack right next to the store he went into. How was she supposed to ignore Radio Shack.
Her princess golem had to drag her out by her ear.
As Feng stepped into the store, he side eyed the H golem. It gave him a very unhappy, very unimpressed look. "...You're joking."
Feng frowned right back at him and shook the list in it's face. "It's on your- his list! I gotta go here!" He ushered the golem back to the counter and nearly tripped into the cash register.
"Whoa, honey, watch your step."
Feng started and looked up at the curvy woman behind the counter. "Madame Paulette?"
She laughed in his face. "That's the name of the store, not it's employee's kid. I'm Laura. What are you looking for?"
"Oh. Sorry. Uh. Says here I'm supposed to pick up a suit? For Dr. H?"
The woman hummed and disappeared into the back of the store, leaving Feng standing awkwardly with the golem. When she returned, she brandished a fancy looking black suit. "This should be it."
Feng took it and held it up to the golem. Instead of being helpful, it suddenly got a blank look. "ERROR QUERY: LOCATION? INPUT NEEDED." it said loudly. Feng flailed and put a hand on it's mouth. "Shhh no. We're staying right here shut up. No other locations." When he looked over at Laura, she looked kind of disturbed. He gave her a wobbly smile.

Feng turned back to the woman and held up his list. "You wouldn't happen to have this other stuff too, would you?"
She took the list from his hands, chewing her lip as she read. "Yeah, actually. We carry just about anything and everything. Follow me."
She lead them over to a wine rack first, pulling a bottle from it's cubby. The golem interrupted, though. "I want that one instead." That one turned out to be a champagne identical to the one she pulled, but Feng shrugged and let it have it's way. The shelf next to the rack held various other drinks, and Laura pulled down some scotch that Feng couldn't pronounce the name of. When he looked to the golem for approval, it hit on him. "So, what are your plans?"
Oh god.
He turned, beet red from embarassment, to rush away to the next item on the list. He could see ties on the other end of the store and went to look through them, so that he wouldn't have to look at the clone face of Dr. H asking him his plans. There was a stripey tie that looked kind of nice and that was good enough for Feng.
"You want that one?"
Feng jumped. "Uh, yeah, yes. Please."
"You try this on too." He jumped again. Jesus christ, H was right behind him. The golem took the tie from him and slipped it around his neck, then surveyed it's work. It seemed satisfied, because it nodded. Good enough.
The golem babbled through the purchase of a box of surgical gloves and through the very awkward encounter of finding pregnancy tests, and then they were done. He'd bought the entire list.
And also spent all of the budget.
Oh well, mission complete. He walked out of the store and looked around for the other hunter.

Chel dragged Aria to the next store over. Ah yes, Hot Topic, the place of her childhood. She recalled many trips to the store with Chris, and was now feeling the hot shame of regret wash over her face in the form of a blush.
"Get this stupid s**t and then head home I hate shopping-" She looked back to the golem. "What, you hittin' on me?" Chel couldn't say she wasn't pleased, but it was also a golem and that was probably fifty levels of illegal and weird at Deus.
Chel held up a weird tunic shirt and said, "This one?"
"Wait. I forgot something! We're going back."
"Back where? We've only visited this one. Stay put, yeesh." The golem seemed displeased but it didn't move.
She held up a miniskirt- well it was sort of a miniskirt. It was more like a piece of cloth held together by a plastic-y belt. As far as Chel was concerned, it was good enough. She didn't give a s**t about Aria. "Hey. You try this on too."
Almost as if sensing her dissatisfaction, Chel sighed and put the clothing on. "Good enough?" The golem nodded. "Alright then."
Next came a pair of jeans. Did they even have jeans? Chel found a pair that just barely passed for bootcut (to be honest, they were still pretty skinny). "Hey, nice job!" Well if the golem liked it.
She held up a makeshift outfit. "We're not wearing that."
Chel sighed. "Fine, fine. I'll pick out something else in a sec."
"ERROR QUERY: LOCATION? INPUT NEEDED."
The pink haired hunter quickly ushered Aria out of Hot Topic and into the JC Penny's across the way. "Yeah, okay. Thanks for that."
Still, they had winter coats and that was on the list. "Hey, nice job!" Apparently Aria approved. It was a tad more expensive than it would have been at Hot Topic, but oh well.
Last thing- a scarf. "You should change your outfit too." Chel sighed and put the scarf on. "Good enough, you a*****e golem?"
Feng gave the bags to the golem, cause there was a lot of stuff and it was awkward to talk with, and that's kind of why they gave him a golem right?
He was going to say it was.
He wandered aimlessly around the mall until he caught sight of familiar pink hair. He rushed through the crowds over to her. "Hey! Uhm. Hi yeah, I'm done with my list. How about you?"
Chel was grabbing dresses and shoes and necklace- girls normally liked those things right?- all for Aria's approval.
It was then that the black-haired one and his weirdly handsome golem joined them. "Hey. Not yet. Princess picky over here is giving me a helluva time finding everything."
"Wait. I forgot something! We're going back."
"See?" She then began following the golem back to Hot Topic. "The only thing left on my list is sleepwear. I hope Hot Topic has pajamas."
Feng rocked back on his heels and frowned. "Mine hasn't given me any issues. Little bit of a glitch at first, though." Her golem quickly proved her point though, and Feng muffled a quiet laugh behind his sleeve.
"I'll follow you?" He said. Which... sounded creepy. "Since we're kind of partners, i guess, and we should stick together?" His golem gave him a pitying look and pushed past him to follow the other hunter.
The store clerk gave her an odd look and Chel said, "Uh, sorry, she remembered something she wanted to buy." People were still whispering, but she ignored it.
"You should change your outfit too."
Chel stared in horror as the golem picked out a disgusting pair of mulan pajamas. "Pass. I already got all this other s**t you made me try on."
She nodded at Feng and said, "Yeah, 'course." As she made her final purchase, she smiled at the cash register. Walking out of the store, she said, "Listen Feng. This card's still got like $1800 on it. What do you say we take it for a spin."
Feng looked entirely panicked, holding up his hands like they would fend off her rebel kid vibes. "I really don't think we're supposed to do that. That's the leaders' money right? Doesn't sound like a good idea."
He couldn't even imagine what would happen if they found out. The Dr. H golem was making heart eyes at her in the background, though. That made it a bit difficult to focus.
