This flashy city hadn't always been here. Years and years ago, there was another city of sorts. Buildings made of stone. A marketplace where merchants sold their wares. Little kids played in the streets. Women hung clothes out to dry or tossed the trash out. Their men worked for honest pay and always returned home to their families.
And in this city, they worshiped many gods. But one god's temple was the center of it. A gorgeous temple with marble columns and grand tapestries. Expensive mosaic windows. There was even a garden where the rarest of flowers grew. The Sunburst Rose. It only bloomed at night, soaking up the sun's rays during the day until it can show it's true beauty in the darkness. It was a beautiful place. And the god they worshiped was a good god. He kept their days warm and full of life. He controlled the sun. Solaris. And this god had a brother who reigned during the night, controlling the moon. Lunar -pronounced Loon-r-. His temple was in a neighboring city.
A god's immortal life isn't always a happy one. There is always much drama in the realm of gods. The sun god fell in love with a human. Sadly that was a big no-no for the gods. It was a dangerous thing, falling for humans. Some could be so greedy. And love had a way of controlling a person. It's not like he meant to fall in love. He couldn't help it. All Solaris wanted was to be with this person. He was young. He really didn't know the true value of his power. He did his best to to be with the one he loved, slipping away from the realm many times. And even forgetting his post. One day the sun was out to long. And another, it did not rise in the morning. The king of the gods noticed this. He found out about Solaris's little secret. He warned Solaris that he must stop this foolishness or else. But Solaris did not listen. His heart overpowers reason. Lunar tried to defend his brother, not knowing what the king of gods would do. But it was in vain. The mighty god punished Solaris putting him into a slumber. Lunar was to take over and reign both night and day.
In his slumber, Solaris swore he would never love again. He was heartbroken that he couldn't be with his love. The years passed like a dream. Humans learns more. Invented things. The gods still did what they did, but the humans didn't worship them as much. Some had their heritage pass down and were still true. But most were not.
Lunar, tired of taking two shifts, will the power to awaken his brother. The king of gods had withered away, his power no longer needed at all. Solaris was shocked to see the world had changed much. His beautiful temple no longer stood proudly in the center of the city. The building had changed. The people had changed. Still, Solaris once more ruled the day, controlling the sun. And as he did so, he studied the humans. Just for the fun of it. He even tried to live among them. Only during the night though. So he could still raise the sun when it needed to rise.
He was able to blend in seamlessly. He enjoyed the nightlife of the humans. He gained a few friends as well. It seemed beauty got you far here. Being a god, he was able to create money out of thin air so that was no big deal. He had people worshiping him again. Though, in a little bit of a different way. It had been years before Solaris discovered a certain club. The Solaris Club. The name amused him. After some time, he decided to go there.
Today was his first time walking through the doors, his entourage not far behind him. As he stepped in and looked around, he saw some familiar things. Pieces of his temple. He knew he felt an odd vibe about this place. He had always felt it but assumed it was only the crumbled remains of the temple that were now part of the earth.
Solaris smiled a bit, running his fingers through his red hair. He had taken this form when he tried to blend in with the humans, just in case. It was so hard trying to decide what he should look like. But with the help of his brother, he was able to do it. And he still looked as sexy was he was as a god.
The first thing Solaris decided to do was sit at the bar. He usually had to have a few drink in him before he started dancing. Not to say he wasn't a good dancer. He just liked to feel a little happier when he was dancing with other people. He could easily get any person he wanted to sleep with. But he still has this burning feeling from his first love. Alcohol usually cooled it a bit. Solaris pursed his lips as he sat at the bar, trying to decide what exactly he wanted to drink, his entourage suggesting things to him and just trying to keep his attention.

Obviously, I'm rather flexible when it comes to RPing. I do tend to have writer's block often, but I promise to reply the best I can as soon as I can.
