the lights dim down and multi colored lights begin to flash as The Game by Disturbed hits. as the crowd looks at the stage, a platform rises up with Ken Armand standing on it, looking downward. As it reaches the stage, he looks up, towards the ring, standing amongst a thin layer of smoke rising from under the stage. the crowd begins to boo heavily as he stands for several seconds
Finally Ken begins to make his way to the ring, almost a frown on his face. He stops at the end of the ramp and looks around the arena, out into the booing fans. Moving forward, he hops up onto the apron and steps into the ring through the ropes. Walking across, he takes up a mic from an official and the music cuts out as the lights come back up to normal.
"I can tell by your reaction that many of you remember me, and not with fondness, from XCW. Unlike some, I don't need your adoration. I don't need you to cheer me. I live for the jeers, not the cheers."
Said jeers begin to ring out throughout the crowd.
"Now, in case you are wondering, I signed with DHW last week, not out of some deep desire to make you peons love me. Lets face it, the all the boos here really come from the men in the audience. But those of you that have a wife or a girlfriend sitting next to you know that they want to cheer me. They don't because you're sitting there with your sweaty little paws all over them. That's fine, because they can always find me around town somewhere later. But, back to the matter at hand. I signed for a reason. I looked at Inferno and I saw this group form, calling themselves the Chosen."
Ken is forced to pause again as more boos come down.
"Generally, I actually agree with you simple minded, fat, out of shape morons. There's not much appealing about them. What bothers me is that they suddenly appeal to the Family, the Damone family. The mighty Dragon, who the years could have been kinder to, decided to actively seek them out. And for what? To defend the honor and careers of those that can't defend themselves? That's what he would have you believe. But I saw something in his eyes."
Ken points out at the crowd.
"For years, you all have souped his head up. You have him believing that he is the mythical dragon. He thinks that at forty years of age and 42 ventures inside hell in a cell, he can keep going. He thinks he can hang with the youth. But deep down, mortality is getting to him. He feels it. His youth so quickly slipping away. I see it in his walk, that slight limp he had last weak. The length of time it took him to get up from a simple clothesline. The heating pad he placed on his aching back last week after such a brief brawl. But of course, you all have hope. He got up, after all. He rose again and tonight he'll team up with his twin, where you all hope he will destroy the Chosen. You simple creatures will push a man far past his limits for your own satisfaction. And maybe he can rid DHW of the Chosen. But the clock is continuing to tick. He's close to the end but can't walk away. Because you all keep calling him back."
the boos are getting quite deafening from the very pro-Dragon crowd.
"You boo me but you know it's true. He's been showing the signs for a long time. He won't admit it but he's just waiting for someone to put an end. Someone has to rise up and slay the Dragon. Judging by their failures thus far and the general lack of consistency, the Chosen are not the ones to do it. If Jarel goes to Blaze of Glory against any of them, he will somehow prevail. Because not even they have the true heart to do what needs to be done. If he went to Blaze of Glory against his twin, the man he so loves to go to war with, the man that always pushes him to his limits, he will find that way to win. Zarel looks into Jarel's face and of course sees his own. He cannot bring himself to rid you all of the Dragon. That is weakness. It is selfish. The Dragon's days have come to an end. You all don't want to admit it. Your heart beats through the heroic efforts of a man who should have retired years ago. Instead you cry and plead for him to come back, for him the next victim to hell, to bury them, to set them on fire, to utterly destroy them. So someone has to stop this heart from beating. Someone has to give the Dragon an end. Someone has to slay the beast, and send him to the hell he loves so much. That person is clearly me."
the boos escalate to the level that Ken has no choice but to wait for them to die down.
"I know it's not what you want to hear. You all want to continue living vicariously through him. But the fact is, the end is here. I signed on the dotted line in DHW not just to become champion, but to do what no one here or in any other federation has succeeded at. I'm going to put an end to the Dragon. I'm not out here to humble him, like his last opponent in the cell, I am here to end him. And I've faced all the Damones. I know what they bring to the table. I know what I'm getting into, and I know what it takes to get it done. For this reason, Drako was reluctant to meet my demand but in the end I get what I want. At Blaze of Glory, The Dragon, the legend, the Godfather of Hardcore, will be slain. I will make sure his heart finally stops. I will leave you with that feeling of shock and dismay as you see a dragon's wings clipped and realize that he is just a man. It is official. Jarel Damone vs Ken Armand at Blaze of Glory, no holds barred. And I guarantee when I'm done you will never see the Dragon again."
Ken lowers the mic, letting the boos ring out and smiling. He will put an end to the Dragon at Blaze of Glory, that much he's sure of.

the lights go out and the crowd cheers as the familiar opening chords of Down with the Sickness begin to play.
Oh wah ah ah ah!
The lights come back on to reveal Jarel standing in the ring, his intense gaze locked on another younger male challenging him. In his hands, he holds a mic, not quite what most would expect. The music dies out and Jarel raises the mic to speak.
"Many men have stepped forward and tried to look into the eye of the Dragon as they seek to make a name for themselves, and you are no exception to the rule. You see an older man in a weakened state and assume that means we're at the end, that we're weak enough for you to put an end to our career. But if 42 ventures into hell haven't done it, son, you aren't likely to do it either."
the crowd cheers, forcing the Dragon to pause briefly.
"There's a locker room full of men and women trying to make a name for themselves. And I know a group that would love to do what you're promising to do. You agreed to sign with this company solely for the chance at slaying the Dragon. While most would be flattered, I find myself more pissed off than anything."
Jarel's eyes flash, the first sign of temper.
"It's not that you're young and hungry. That doesn't bother me. It's that people like you come into this business determined to make a name off those that came before you. And you think that I should be impressed with you. You think you can do what no one else could do? What Nuke Fusion, my most hated rival, failed to do? What Jack Arson can only dream of doing? You think you have what it takes to slay the Dragon. Well boy, we're in the show me state and try me city, so why don't you go ahead and try your luck while i'm standing here face to face with you because at Blaze of Glory, you've given yourself a first class ticket to your own personal hell."

when the lights go out, Ken does what anyone does, starts looking around despite the fact he can't see a damn thing. That is, until the lights come back up. The music was a clear indication, and naturally he's right. The Dragon has arrived. And a sign of the times becomes evident, as Jarel speaks instead of just striking. so Ken listens until the Dragon is finished. Naturally, the simple minded fans are hanging on his every word. They still believe the myth. Ken shakes his head.
"You just don't get it, do you old man? I grew up watching you. I know what you're capable of. I've faced off against your family. But I can see through the lies. You've allowed the fans to make you believe your own hype. You let them make you think that you're truly this unstoppable force, this instrument of destruction. But if you were, then wouldn't you be beating the crap out of me? Your words just now simply prove to me that I'm right, and while the idiots here in the St Charles Family arena want to cheer their hometown boy, deep down, they know I'm right. You're just a desperate old man unable to force himself out while he can still walk. So I'm going to do it for you. I'm young, I'm athletic, and I have the will to do it. As a matter of fact...."
Ken cuts off and swings the mic at Jarel's head

Jarel was primed and ready for an attack. After all, he'd dared him to do it. as such, he reaches up with one hand to block the mic, then swings the other around with a closed fist aimed for the side of Ken's head. It's time for a little reminder of just who the rookie is dealing with

that certainly didn't go as planned. Ken is blocked, then dropped by the force of the Dragon's right hand. The crowd erupts in cheers as Ken's body hits the mat, delighted that the overconfident young man is about to get what's coming to him. Ken rolls to the side, perhaps rethinking standing here toe to toe with the Dragon tonight and looking for his method of escape

Jarel isn't in the mood to let Ken escape. He wanted this fight, and now he's got it. The Dragon reaches down to pull Ken up by his neck, at which point he would attempt to toss him against the turnbuckle. From there he would look to level him with some lefts and rights, just beating him down in the corner

and the hits just keep on coming, as Ken is launched into the corner, hitting the turnbuckle spine first. The wind is knocked out of him but he remains on his feet.....that is, until the merciless being known as the Dragon lays into him with straight closed fists until he can't stand anymore. Once down, Ken does the only thing he can, rolling out under the bottom rope to escape the onslaught

Jarel's point is proven here, as Ken has to flee the ring to escape his wrath. The Dragon walks back across the ring and picks up a mic.
"All that talk and yet all you've shown me is you have the ability to try my patience. You asked for it. Blaze of Glory, you get to look into the eyes of the Dragon. And know this beyond a shadow of a doubt, if you want to make this personal, I'll end your career before it truly gets under way. Your aspirations of becoming a legend off my defeat will become the living nightmare surrounding you. Welcome to hell, Ken Armand, population, you!"
Jarel drops the mic and his music hits the PA as he watches Ken. The Dragon's opening statement has certainly been made.
