"You can't say that just because I don't like chocolate that I am weird, alright? I mean, you don't like to drink tea but you love the smell of Fang Snare. Just because you don't like Damien doesn't mean we can't be friends with him. I want to be friends with him. Is that bad? No, I don't think so. I just think you're being overly protective and that you are just worried that your little sister is gonna go off and run into her mate and then you can't do anything about it. And before you say anything, you know you can't stand in the way of mates. It happens, deal with it. Plus - PLUS - You haven't found yours yet, how do you even know if you find them or not? You could have already ran into them and never realized it. Isn't it great though that we're not limited to the sexual orientations of others? It makes everything so much easier." Brenna, the young hellhound walked with bounces in her step, the airy beige-cream dress with a fastened belt seemed to flow as she moved, her tail giving it that extra elegant detail as she moved. Her outfit and hair complimented her dark chocolate fur of her ears and tail and her honey colored eyes. She smiled wide as she glanced over her shoulder to watch a very large, hulking boil who stayed a few steps behind her, his brows knitted together and face in some perpetual glower. But that was how he was. She could tell that her talking was bothering him purely on the subject matter, but he was never one to be the talkative type. He motioned to a nearby stone bench to sit upon as they did, but she was far too animated to stop. Not just yet. "Brenna, it's not that I don't mind this conversation but you're 15. You shouldn't be thinking about mates just yet. That comes with time and-" She giggled, rolling her eyes as she seemed to pace in a strange patterned circle, weaving in and out of step, her outfit flowing behind her, her hair bouncing with each step, the ribbons on her outfit and hair seemed to give that extra detail. Unlike her brother who wore blacks, grays, and whites. "I know, but I am just saying it could happen. So just don't get so riled up, if you do I won't be able to make friends and I will be very lonely and very sad and no one wants that. Especially you." Uru'baen ran a large hand down his face with a groan. She used to be timid and complacent when she was home, even over the phone she seemed shy and reserved. But this was totally different, it was like something had struck her and changed her entire person between the time of their last phone conversation to when he had ran into her hanging out with Damien, the monster hellhound with green ears. However, Brenna was his sister and he could not hate her or anything of the like. He just had to tolerate her and support her through whatever, even if he had to fight down the protective-brother instinct. "Making friends is fine." he muttered as he rested his elbows on his knees, looking at her with raised brows as if to say 'do-you-understand'. The youth smiled, rolling her eyes as she spread her arms out and meandered around the quad-like area.

It wasn't that Desta didn't want to make friends... Well, she didn't want to be surrounded by masses of people And she certainly didn't want people in her space... Maybe she really didn't want to make friends. Either way while everyone was off getting tours she was... well, alone.
Not that it mattered. Of course it didn't. She could walk around this place on her own. But she couldn't really see much. There were just too many people and she wasn't in the mood to send someone running or accidentally start a fight. She worked hard on this dress, thank you, and she wasn't going to get it all ripped up over a misunderstanding.
Of course looking down meant she couldn't see where she was going.

In unison, their ears went up and flicked in the direction of shuffling feet. Just a single pair in their proximity. There were others around, students and guests touring the campus, but this was a single individual. Uru'baen gave a sideways glance, cupping his fist over his mouth quietly looking. Brenna turned to face the approaching newcomer entirely with a wide smile. Another student? Another guest? IT WAS ANOTHER PERSON! She seemed to rock on the balls of her feet, ready to bounce and greet this person, but she gave her brother a look for his approval. She still wasn't sure of all the rules here. When she did, he was running a finger under his nose from his balled fists. "You don't get sick. Is that suppose to be some sort of gesture because I don't get it." He shot a look at her causing her to giggle at him. He knew she was playing with him. She bounded off to the approaching monster, so she believed, with waving hands in the air to get her attention. "Heeeey! How are you?" She shouted.

Desta jerked back when someone just seemed to appear in front of her and started to wave. She had her left hand up,the black material attached to her cuff blocking her eyes. She stayed like that a moment before lowering the hand and in turn the fabric. Her yellow eyes starting at the teen's dress instead of her face. She noted it all. The colors, the way it moved, how nice it was. Someone at least knew fashion even if she was a bit... out going. The jabberwock finally raised her eyes high enough to look at her mouth. Pretty. She decided, the girl would be considered pretty. She just wasn't sure what to make of someone like that. "... You don't need to yell," She stated, voice distant and rather harsh sounding, "You're right in front of me." She glided her hands down her dress to straighten it out. She was asked a question, even if it was more shouted at her than anything, "... I'm fine. Is there something that you need?"

"Well, it looked like you were down, so I wanted to come say hi. I'm visiting my brother," she pointed over her shoulder with a smile to the large boy who was intently watching them from a stone bench a good distance away. "And I just want to make friends, so the best way is to meet new people. If I am going to be coming here, I don't want to come here and be a complete stranger to the entire student body." She could not help but take in this ghoul's presence, her body slender, sleek, elegant. She was certainly fashionable, the dress suited so perfectly and the fabric looked extremely expensive, but it was the craftsmanship that made her eye sparkle. When she got home, she'd need to find whoever made it and get herself something made. The dress she wore was by far the most favorite thing she owned. Her tail swished behind her playfully, moving every so often as if connected to her heart beat. "I'm Brenna!" She offered a hand, her cuff left unbutton because she was no longer at home. No one was going to tell her to button it! And it was much more freeing this way. "I'm a demon hellhound."

"I'm not down," The jabberwock stated as if haughtily offended at the notion. She looked down-it didn't meant she was. She glanced at the girl's cuff which was just unbottoned. Not folded down. Not sew in place. Just... open. That was annoying. She glanced to the hand next and realized she was expected to shake it. Or do something of the like. She lifted her clawed fingers and took her hand slowly, briefly. "My name is Desta. I'm a jabberwock." She responded before pulling back. "I'm enrolling in the school soon." She did glance over at her bother. He seemed to be a counter to her personality. She edged away from her trying to keep her personal space intact. She straightened up a little more and lifted her eyes a fraction more. Just below the other's. She didn't dare look her in the eye but she wanted more of a look at this friendly person. A little too friendly for her tastes. "... I like your dress."

Uru's ear twitched, his eyes fell to the ground in contemplation, his fists covering his mouth more. Brenna smiled as the ghoul took her hand. Others might find the irregular, clawed palm to be concerning, but she did not, she shook it once happily before Desta took it back. If she wasn't down, then who walks around watching their feet? It isn't like the ground would fall from under them suddenly! Well, that actually might be a possibility. She wondered how possible for a moment. "That's great to hear, it took my brother two years before he got accepted. But I have to say, it was probably the best thing that's happened to him in a long time. I hope they accept me, too. I can't wait to get out of the house." Looking down at herself, she smiled more. "This dress is absolutely lovely, I have to wear some undergarments because it is so light, but it feels like the softest thing ever. If you look real close, you could see the skillful embroidery that's done all over the top and sides, but it is the frill that makes me happiest, it just gives such a great look, and it's a high-low, so I can run in it if I wanted to. Plus, the sewn in ribbons gives it a little extra exaggeration to my movements. It fits me well, don't you think?" She inquired. "I mean, look at you, you're dress is absolutely gorgeous, it's so well made and fits you so nicely. Without a doubt, whoever made it could make pretty good silver seed if she decided to open up their own business, if they didn't already have one."

Desta's attention was caught by the description of her dress. Too light, huh? She could probably fix that. Just add another layer of fabric underneath. Something light but dark enough to cover... She was already thinking about fixing the design of the dress, studying it with her sharp eyes when the compliment made her tail writhe and her eyes finally lift. She loved compliments on her work. It was her passion really. She felt like royalty and she wanted to look it. It was just shame she had to always look toward the ground. "This dress is one of my own creation."

"That's amazing! Skillful work and-" Her eyes opened from her smile to fall upon the other ghoul's gaze. Immediately her ears fell to the side and her tail tucked, hackles raised, a shiver down her spine. A roar erupted behind her as a large shadow of a creature huddled over her. A creature large and black, his eyes gold and blue, a subtle blue wispy spoke emitted from his blue eye, his lips pulled back as he growled at the monster in front of them. Uru picked up his sister's sudden tense, the smell of fear rolled off of her like the repugnant smell of ink. His instinct to protect his pack was strong, but this was his sister. His eyes fell to her as if to intimidate, to threaten, but when their eyes locked he felt it too. His ears fell to the side, but the rumbling growl persisted. "Your natural ability as a jabbawock." he voiced, his tone deep and harsh but it lingered a question as if to confirm his speculations. He knew of the species, he had done his readings, but this was his first encounter with one and their abilities ranged from one to another. But if his sister looked her in the eye and he did as well, then this was something... natural. He wasn't intimidated easily. With a rush of whooshing shadows, the large wolf returned to an upright boil with large arms crossed across a thick chest with a surly glare. Brenna shook her head, gathering herself as she pressed a hand up against her brother in order to calm him. "Uru, it's okay. I'm okay, don't worry. It's just what happens, right?" She looked to Desta. "Right?"

Desta realized what she'd done a moment to late. Just as she was about to tear her gaze away from the younger girl she was staring up into the eyes of a massive beast.
She was already raising her tail in defense, ready to strike if he dared to attack. She drew her own lips back, sharp teeth revealing themselves. She expected him to attack or flee but instead he spoke.
She lowered her gaze, "... Yes," She answered keeping her glare on the floor. Her tail was still flickering, ready to lash out like a poisonous mace. She was already starting to move away from the pair. "I should go."

"N-no, you don't have to! We were just taken, to be fair, it isn't all your fault!" Brenna exclaimed taking a step toward her, restricted some by her brother's grasp on her. He was just being protective. She turned to him with pleading eyes as if asking to stop her, that this wasn't how she wanted her first encounter to be like with them. As members of the Cocytus, their first impressions must be the best, that they must be on good terms with everyone. She could not allow this. "Uru."
Uru knew what it was like. "Desta, you can learn to control it." He called out to her, his voice deep. He let his sister go as he stepped out in front of her as an act of openness to the ghoul, but, subconsciously, it was to stand between a threat and his pack. "If you study and work hard, you might be able to control when it happens. It isn't your fault if it does happen, it is who you are. It's a gift in itself."
"Y-yeah, maybe, maybe after a while of it happening, we could get use to it. Maybe not be affected by it, right? Could that happen?" She questioned, mostly directed to her brother who wouldn't know the answer himself.

Desta turned to both of them, her eyes narrowed. She really didn't want encouragement blasted at her. She knew she could learn. That's why she was here. To figure out how to use it for her own gain. She could see the boy was blocking in his sister. Keeping her away. It was too late already. Her power had done it's work. She straightened up again, "It was a pleasure to meet you both. I should figure out where my room is." She stated her voice clipped as she turned to try and get through the crowd, eyes downcast once again.

Brenna moved past her brother to reach for the other ghoul, wanting to sooth her, to calm her, to let her know that everything was alright. But her brother's firm hand on her shoulder and a shake of his head was enough. Keeping his voice low, he looked at the back of the ghoul who was walking from them. "We should let her go, she needs time to herself. Don't push yourself to make friends, Brenna, you'll only push them away." His voice low, but knowing that the both of them had sensitive enough hearing to hear whispers if focused on. "When you enroll, you can meet her again." Brenna choked down a whimper as she watched the girl walk away from them. "T-the pleasure was ours, Desta!" she shouted, using her hands to megaphone her voice, her shout causing her to bend over at the hip as if to project. "I hope we meet again when I enroll, too!"

The monster turned at the shout to glance back at them. She was a little surprised. Maybe caught off guard. Normally people avoided her. Maybe should actually make friends here. Maybe she... could fit in here a little more than what she was used to. She gave a small nod, not even sure if the other saw it.
